these things work without shunt and the wiring is a pain. sometimes the sellers dont even give a schematic for the wiring. cause if you try to measure current and voltage from a single power source it doesnt always work. one time a got magic smoke escape from on them. can you do a video about wiring such instrument for example for a lion battery charger to measure voltage and current that the charger gives to the battery?
Hello, how would you go about wiring the ebay red & blue panel meter so that with a 24 volt power source to be able to show the voltage from the 24 volt power source But also show the load from the same 24 volt battery?
I think you got the tolerances 'slightly' wrong. It is "range times 0.08% plus two digits"! So for current you have +-82mA tolerance. But I really like your videos, so keep 'em coming.
Concerning the EBay voltage/amp panel meter, is there anyway to use a single 24 volt battery and read voltage and current from the same 24 volt battety?
I wonder would these digital meters interfere with the voltage spikes of the desulfator circuit goo.gl/kMuwYZ for pb battery? I mean with analog it's not a problem, but connect a bunch of electronics between the pulse generator and the battery to measure current and??
Hello VoltLog, thank you for the review. One question on the meter specification - it says 200V but the default display is with the decimal point in the middle, which means 99.99 maximum voltage. Does it actually changes ranges based on the input or there is a jumper of a sort to configure ?
How did you connect the amp part of the meter, did you just connect the thick red and black wires like a shunt between a load or did you use another method?
do you think we should buy from the same seller? cause the link you provided doesnt link to a specific seller. there are many units with 4 digits with price from 2 to 6 $ so what to choose?
First! What about these 100-300A 120V models: VAC-1100A, VAC-1200A, VAC-1300A About 20$, wireless, OVP, LVP and all. Should be hackable for PC data input.
Good timing I got 1 of these delivered this morning to replace a 3 digit type in my power supply , Thanks for the video I feel better using it now
thank you for watching!

I've update the blog post to include a schematic: www.voltlog.com/voltlog-132-4-digit-led-panel-meter-review/
VoltLog thank you very much!
This would be a perfect upgrade for the supply I was building. It's exactly like the one I'm using, but with 4 digits resolution instead of 3!
yup, it would give that power supply better resolution on the ammeter.

That's exactly the same meter that I used for my power supply!
Just with a bit nicer segment layout....

You are right! I see how I got things wrong. So the panel meter is well within the specified tolerance. Thank you for your comment.

yes there is, you power the module from the same battery where you are sensing.

Is this support reverse current measurement?
It seems that GND common regarding Power supply port and current port.

yes, I used it like a shunt, on the low side.
But on the video, the thick wires where not connected to anything. Why?

The link I provided shows only 2 offers, buy from those 2. You can't get this module for $2.

10mV 100mA resolution, not suitable for our projects.
10-turn pot? Yes. But 10-turn TRIM pot"? No. Any 10-turn pot is on the order of the size as the meter itself.
