Remember when Honolulu airport got all those electric buses that was a huge failer now ambulance
HECO drooling 🤑
Imagine getting rushed to the ER and the ambulance battery dies
Bad idea. If a major incident happens and many people need ambulances it will take time to recharge them. When time counts.
With electric sky high rocketing. It doesn't make sense. When the grid goes down. Can't charge anything. Just like the rail, power goes off. People will get stuck.
Modern euro sirens please.
Another bad idea.
potential fires and what if you run out of electricity. then what. the system as a whole cannot handle it right now anyways. so what...
oh does it take over 24 hours to charge??? 🙄
I can imagine someone having a heart attack, and the patient is going to have to wait because the ambulance has to recharge. by the time they finish charging their EV, the patient will be on their way to the morgue. a dumb idea.
What a joke
If the average cost of a replacement battery pack for an average plug in electric vehicle runs about $25,000, imagine just how much a replacement battery pack for that electric ambulance might cost.
If ambulance gets 5 mpg, and drives 15 miles each way ($1per mile) costs $30 total. Only a portion of that is from the increased fuel cost. I am guessing $10 more isn't much relitive to what an ambulance ride costs. What am I missing? HPD needs to work more efficiently. Can put a couple of the waikiki cops on electric scooters mabye. They can get closer to what the fuck is actually going on out on the streets.
Electronic ambulances may cause a problem in the emergency field. While electronic vehicles in other fields might be okey. Already driverless vehicles that technically don't require a license to drive that could result in a operational permit instead of traditional driving license.
There's a reason why law enforcement doesn't use EVs. It may sound efficient, but alot of issues with come with it as well potential fires.
