It's cool knowing it all came together well in the end.
The black paint really helps the eye focus on the dio, and not what it is built on.
Reminds me of letter boxed movies.

The diorama looks great! You really see where the attention detail made the difference. My only criticism would be the rope holding Rambo's pancho. It's too clean and white looking. I would dirty that up a bit before shooting any dio photos. It's kind of distracting to the eye... but other than that, it looks great!!!

    • @vascotoys
      @vascotoys  4 місяці тому +2

@@vascotoys it is definitely worth going...The people of Hope BC, are very friendly... My friends Herve Attia, and Scott Hardy have made some great filming locations videos for the movie...Just look up On The Set Of First Blood. I was so lucky to go along with them, when my friend Scott found the lost junkyard location, and the Delmar Barry intro location, before either were made public..They hadn't changed at all, after 30 odd years, when we initially visited the locations. :)

    good dio video bro
just starting, it s just magic! exactly the way a pro does it, I m in!
cool project, my kind of scene, although mine are mostly interiors.
mm, a heat gun... I d like to see more carefully the effect it has on foam next time if you have the chance,
as it seems a very interesting technique to develop, a great - clean tool to work with.
2.00 I d mention that it seems like a waste of foam if you re to cover it
recyclables, cardboard would make that shape for free,
it flashes to me, as I crave for long straight pieces of foam myself
I developed an eye for 'economy' - recovery to save most as possible
I realise that if I had more money, I would not care as much about that, D
4.26 this is where I d take a break and put the fig in to have a 'sneak peek'
a preview of the finished scene
I actually do this to get the inspiration going, and it gives me an idea of what else I could get in the scene.
as audience, I m at this same spot but trying to figure what YOU ll do.
a good pace break here I d say to have a good flow.
    and.. it already looks good.
    the glue and nails
yep, I use cheap Aylmers clear glue and ol nails to solidify
and must say, you need nothing more, it s real tough, only my street lamps needed more creativity
I mention points not as critic, but in view of accessibility for most guys that d want to get in
guys that only have an apartment, and only a table. poor artists.
that way, the audience is wider
I m that kind, hopefully temporarely, but I think it could be the best recipe to get you started and get pop
many guys are caught in a fig to the next routine, they need to break the ice, make it thin, D
the plaster looks good, but a lot of work and waste
I found a good trick! clear glue mixed with water, it makes a humid look and a protection pellicule,
it s safe, cheap, ecological, easy, I d love to see you test it on a project.
    the dirt
of course, for realism, it s best, but it s not what I m looking for in fig dios, because of the rubbing,
on long term, the rubbing will make particles detach, it s good for train layouts, where things are static
this is where we d need to improve for a wider audience too, less specialist stuff
paint - foam shapes - plastic plants - green rope - and my glue 'varnish technique'
gave me the result I needed, sturdy - durable surfaces, nothing rubs away, it s like plastic but more texture [foam]
other surfaces are painted cardboard, no 'varnish' it gives a surface figs have grip on.
because I change action weekly, [as is the logical way to use this] I need reliable texture, also, dusting.
ouh, I spray painted my fan frame - support, it cost me $20 Can for a can... forget it!
and the smell! oh no, it s acrylic dollar store paint from now on, I hate it.
8.15 yeah, black wash, sprayer, it s relief of the measures and cuts, stressful to waste
another good spot to show Rambo
dollar store plants are best here, yeah, those are cool for trains, but not here for figs,
I totally pass on the podge with the glue trick, I glue my green rope, then add more, and then can add a final glue - water mix to protect the texture
there has to be compromise when you do fig dios, it s specialised, unless it s just for expos
not understanding this, not adapting, keep dios where they are, a small thing, niche...
the fun of this thing is to SHARE, all aboard! I share my mind about the topic,
and then we evolve the genre to a bigger audience - team of artists
and we aim low budget - space, fig action as inspiration, like a great song.
    11.30 ahh yeah! the finale!
    kudos on the posing bro!
    ha, ha, the audio
    final verdict
it s pro bro! like for expos good, photo realistic and surely your aim here with all the high end products and techniques
and it s all clear to me what I d see as revolutionary what I m thinking about in simple terms
action sets not as realistic, but action elements for fun and flexibility in poses - action
my green ropes act as vines which I can attach figs, as many as you want, it s tight glued there
same for my balcony and electric tubing and pipes, to allow figs to grab, hence, action flexibility
this is key to success in the project.
what do you think? want to try?
    so now you know...
    good show bro!
