i notice that when he played his legs and feet barelty moved. whenever i play, i will like no sound will come out unless i move my leg a whole bunch... idk.. its probably dexterity to...
Awesoman47 #OMG if you wanna play fast and consistent double bass practice with a metronome and start off playing at really low tempos then keep going up into the faster tempos when you get comfortable with the slower ones
"It's pretty hard for me." This is possibly the scariest thing you can hear from Mike Portnoy.
Isaac Rogers haha so true
Yeah and just when I thought I was capable enough to learn the song.
yes, it could even cause, dare I say, a panic attack!! womp womp
God damn if that aint the truest shit i ever read
i looooove how mike tunes his drums
very high picthed and tight, but still full of body.. love it.

I think its three measures of 5 and a measure of 4 but he did not mention that so I wonder if he even knows.

He made it sound like a panic attack!
why you do dis to us
Mike it doesnt look simple.I might be able to play that by time i turn 90 lol
why is his left drumstick upside down?
Simeon Boda It gives more power and a crack to the hit of the snare and toms. It's a trick that's been used for years by a lot of drummers.
Anyone know what is the ride cymbale?
24" bassdrum?
can anybody please tell me what ride is he using?
22″ Hand Hammered Rock Ride maybe
i still dont understand how you play double bass that fast for more than 10 seconds
Your muscles are prolly tight, his are loose. muscle memory/dexterity are the key. it comes with time and practice.
