Thanks for the reaction to Lonely… my mom and dad both died during the pandemic last year. Mom died of an unexpected heart attack and because of COVID restrictions I never got to say goodbye, then unfortunately 3 months later my Dad passed from cancer that wasn’t found until it was already stage 4. This song is the one song that I relate to. It reminds me of them

His dad, and his aunt (who passed in 2017), were pretty much the only adults in his life until he was in his late teens - and they moved away from his aunt when they went to Cleveland. Plus, his dad was gone half the time doing missionary work and he would leave him alone.

Blazin reaction, thank you!! The second part of the song was about his Aunt (his dad's sister). Him and his dad moved into her basement after Kell's mom left them. His Aunt was like a mom to him and was always supportive of him.

The story goes that he was staying with Travis after his dad passed as Travis was trying to help him with his grief. On one particularly bad day they were in the studio and he told MGK to just scream out what he was feeling and this is what came of it - heartbreaking
