- At long last, Goody Wu and I are publishing our short film Across the Bridge! This was our graduation film from Emily Carr University of Art and Design. We are proud to announce that the short has attended 20 festivals, winning 3 awards, and runner up for 4 festivals.

The transition from 2D to 3D animation was amazing and unexpected. I have never seen something like this before. I assume you used Autodesk Maya for the 3D part and Toon Boom Harmony for the 2D part. Making this kind of animation takes a lot of time and hard work. May I ask which one was faster and easier to make the 3D or the 2D?

That is a really difficult question to answer, it depends a lot on the amount of detail needed, and whether you have a team or not. I couldn't make a character and rig on my own, so I would say making 3D animation from scratch is a lot harder, but the animation process for a single person is a lot faster than 2D, since in 2D there are many passes to go over the same animation (clean up line art, dividing highlight and shadow area, coloring.. etc)

It's beatiful. Just one short film but animation in three style. 2D, 3D and pixel art (Credits seems to pixel art but i'm not sure.) all of them great.

@@wearedow I've taken my crack at Maya, and it is a lot of work, especially where fur is concerned.. Did you have a lot of headaches with it?
@@sizlax absolutely! There were a lot of hurdles in the process~ But luckily for me, I was focusing on the layout and animation in maya, so I didn't do much of the technical aspect~ My partner did all the heavy lifting in maya :')
