Great honest breakdown. Nothing is perfect, even if its the best option to do in the situation you find yourself in. Learned this lesson from a lightfooted friend of mine with markers. Dude out maneuvered me while securing my weapon hand and I looked like I had chickenpox after 10-30 secs of thinking I could get away 😵
Seriously if you are not intimate with body mechanics and how to wield a blade, dont do it, and sure as hell be wary of somebody else being the real deal that only some Gun-Fu could be certain with 😅

Now you know how you will get stabbed if you don't run. So run. Unless, like me, you had accidents that lead to injuries and surgeries on both knees. Then you train a lot, fight for your life and, perhaps, survive.

Situational awareness is your first line of defense, no matter what weapon someone wants to attack you with. The second most important thing is mobility. Being in a corner allows no mobility and is the worst case scenario. Mobility is everything when you’re being attacked, even if you can’t run. Mobility is survival, because it gives you the ability to redirect and move around an attack. Mobility is essential to being able to manipulate the dynamics of an altercation in your favor or break contact. Mobility can help create that critical moment needed to get a weapon in your hands. Build good habits to avoid scenarios like being in a corner. This is what all self defense classes should be teaching people first. The most important takeaway from this demonstration of being in a corner, is don’t be there.

Excellent emphasis on this video! As an FMA practitioner of 25 + yrs I can attest to the fact that even with a bunch of training a practical practice against an highly skilled knife fighter you will bleed at best!! That said GRDMSTR Remy Presas once told me that the best way to survive a knife fight is to not be in one but if it happens you should strive to affect your opponent’s sight and mobility so you can get away. Mstr Delaney told me situational awareness is perhaps the most vital component of your training.

This is exactly why learning how to martially use a knife is vital. What is equally important, especially for those that can do so, is to get martially adept with firearms and to keep your options open. Range is king when it comes to knives, and being able to keep the range on someone with a knife is one of the most important things you can do. Keep them at firearm's range and there is very little they can do. Let a knife fighter close the gap, and there is very little you will probably be able to do.

HOPE YOU HAVE PRAYED BEFORE HAND, FOR IF THE ATTACKER IS TRAINED AND EXPERIENCED YOUR CHANCE TO LIVE IS VERY LITTLE CHANCE TO LIVE ; BUT DO NOT GIVE UP; FIGHT BACK WITH DEADLY FORCE FOR YOUR LIFE , AND DO NOT LET HIM ATTACK FIRST YOUR ONLY CHANCE IS TO ATTACK THE ATTAKER WITH THE KNIFE AND KEEP THE ATTACKER AWAY FROM CLOSE COMBAT FOR YOUR LIFE, IN AND OUT OF THE FIGHT ZONE IF YOU CAN , BUT THE BEST WAY TO SURVIVE IS AVOID THE ATTACK !...

Already sheer determination is a game changer: here a "prison stab" situation is shown, defender pressed up against a wall, (even bigger) attacker filling the guy in at 120-200 stabs per minute with the knife in the concealed hand. This is about as bad a situation as it can get.

    This is lifesaving advice🙏
A friend and I once ran into an armed raid of his neighbors apartment.
We came up the stairwell in his flat because we heard shouting and saw the kicked in door dangling on one hinge.
Behind the door we encountered a masked guy with a big knife looking ... and then charging at us.
    I am telling you
when someone with a big ass knife is charging at you
    ...
there is nothing to do man.
    You just GTFO.
    You GTFO!
Don't be no hero. And train your ass off. Especially your running tho.
We picked up the door and slammed it shut.
But there were multiple Guys inside and they kicked against the door.
It was completely removed from the hinges at this point and we were just kinda holding it like a big shield...
We counted down together and then we ran!
    We RAN!
    And we lived.
Fortunately no one got killed this day.

    • @78a67h
      @78a67h Рік тому

This is a real funny story. There was a masked man with a big knife charging at you and then there were multiple people inside kicking at the dislodged door with the masked man and then you ran like hell! Ha, ha, ha funnier than Charlie Chaplin ever was.

    • @amarured
      @amarured Рік тому +2

@@78a67h The people inside were two (or three not sure anymore) additional masked and armed robbers trying to get out after they robbed my friends neighbor.
The one charging at us was probably standing guard or making sure the other inhabitants of the apartment didn't do something stupid.
There were 5 residents in this apartment at the time.
      The neighbor with his girlfriend.
His brother with his girlfriend and one additional guy i didn't know.
And actually beeing on the receiving end of 2-4 people kicking at a Door your holding is not fun at all.
Especially when you know they got knives.
We didn't last long until we had to bail.
Especially because inside the appartement a fight ensued.
The severely cut and injured neighbor came after them and fought back with a long metal bar. His arms were bleeding.
He later told us the guys didn't stab him but kinda hit him with the knives like with a batton.
      The point however is.
If for whatever reason we would have chosen to "stay our ground" or try something else heroic or foolish when we faced the first attacker....
we would have gotten stabbed 100%.
So if you see a big knife.
      You Run.

Yeah this video is mostly about how to attack someone with a knife. Defending requires preparation, alertness, weapons, distance and mobility none of which are mentioned. The fact is most knife attacks are surprise blitz attacks and if you survive the first few attacks then the only defense is to 1 use your feet run or kick this often does not discourage them but may afford an opportunity to get into a better position or get a weapon. Where I am from this is usually a glass bottle or ten which can be thrown rapid fire. The knife's weakness is range and being cirnered is the worst position so anything you can do to create space will help.

You are correct in that running and getting away is the most effective response in maintaining one's life in this scenario. IMHO. Peace.

There's also "Largo" long-range attacks. Medium range attacks. These are close range attacks, which is good to train because Attackers dictate the time & proximity of a surprise attack. Learned this when I lived in Philippines for 7yrs.👍 Train, train, train. Cardio. People smoke pot, cigs, vape & ruin their lungs. Good advice " Don't think you're better than everyone out there." One I learned from an Army Airborne Ranger buddy, first do your best to control or deal with that leveraging (live) and bladed hand...then go for a Ranger Stomp that ankle at angle hitting it buckling it against the floor. ( Sprained ankle or if u break it... renders one bad leg) He can't chase u and will have to crawl. Good if u got boots on. Snap it! *Don't do it unless ur life is in danger, because there are legal, medical bill ramifications. Or sweep him / chuck him in the abdominal/ solar plexus area, Or grab an arm even if yer cut & slam him into that wall corner with all you got. His eyes, throat, nuts are in range. I would grab bite, gouge the eyes....fight like a cornered wolverine. U need access to your knife quick...if it's a folder it should Not sit all the way in your pocket, but the clip should hold the folded knife a lil bit above your pocket for quick grab, deployment & counter offense attacks. Also see how victim/ defender has his fists up by his neck...I keep a pointed defense pen clipped on my inner shirt collar so I can grab it quick from that hands up defensive position.✌️🖖

Nobody wants to be in a combative situation with a knife. I am civil I am responsible of my own wellbeing of my knowledge and understanding of tactical close quarter combat with any tools from a Sharpie Marker - melee, kitchenware, tool cabinet, even toiletpaper. Most knife fighters in the military to learned to be stealthy with their tools. Nobody would even know who or what happened. And blame it on somebody to take the fall. This is the world we been surviving lately.
We were more humbling in the 90s...
Learn the trick of never being afraid of the knife. If you fear it. It will cut you! Or you will cut yourself... if you fear nothing and train yourself to catch flying blades and arrows and spar with someone to dodge block and use body weight momentum techniques from knife attacks. Is ideal

That is not like how Jujutsu and Judo depict knife attacks, the attacker coming in with just one long stab, extending his arm allowing you to grab it.
Thank you, Kevin, for being honest and forthright in admitting survival against a skilled knife fighter is very low to nil.
The best defense after avoidance is, run away! Barring that, don't get cornered. After that, if you're forced to defend, think, ninja, fight real dirty, be crafty, be resourceful. Find anything around you like a chair and any expedient weapon.

i studied martial arts for years then learned i didnt have too. I was christian all i needed to do was learn how to do exorcisms. Any person trying to kill you has demons you can call angel down to attack that demon.

@@Dee-qo7gh While I agree that anyone attacking you is likely inhabited by something, we have no control over angels. They are The Lord's alone to order. Technically (maybe), per Jude 1:9, all you have to say is "The Lord rebuke you". If it worked on their leader, I assume it works on the minions, idk.
May we never acquire the knowledge.

Sorry, Sir, terrible thing is happening: More than six minutes out of 9 :24 you are demonstrating various ways of attacks with knife, the remaining 3 minites cannot save the presentation. A wrong approach. Paul, 67,retired instructor of Karate

I agree. He said "this isn't a video to teach you how to knife someone" - but that's EXACTLY what he's done.
      Stupid!!
