Situational awareness is your first line of defense, no matter what weapon someone wants to attack you with. The second most important thing is mobility. Being in a corner allows no mobility and is the worst case scenario. Mobility is everything when you’re being attacked, even if you can’t run. Mobility is essential to being able to manipulate the dynamics of an altercation in your favor or break contact. Mobility can help create that critical moment needed to get a weapon in your hands. Build good habits to avoid scenarios like being in a corner. This is what all self defense classes should be teaching people first. The most important takeaway from this demonstration of being in a corner, is don’t be there.

If you ask a filipino what to do when someone attacks you with a blade or knfe the bset defense is to run 90% of the time get as much distance as possible or you can fight if you have a blade one thing is for sure you will be seeing a lot blood but most of the time if the man is skilled you will never see him coming and you will be lying in a pool blood
This is exactly why learning how to martially use a knife is vital. What is equally important, especially for those that can do so, is to get martially adept with firearms and to keep your options open. Range is king when it comes to knives, and being able to keep the range on someone with a knife is one of the most important things you can do. Keep them at firearm's range and there is very little they can do. Let a knife fighter close the gap, and there is very little you will probably be able to do.

Thank you, Kevin, for showing everyone exactly what a real knife attack would look like. I've been telling everyone, go watch the movie, "American Me". There's no way to survive a knife attack like that where the knifeman is slashing and stabbing like a jackhammer. That is not like how Jujutsu and Judo depict knife attacks, the attacker coming in with just one long stab, extending his arm allowing you to grab it. Thank you, Kevin, for being honest and forthright in admitting survival against a skilled knife fighter is very low to nil. The best defense after avoidance is, run away! Barring that, don't get cornered. After that, if you're forced to defend, think, ninja, fight real dirty, be crafty, be resourceful. Find anything around you like a chair and any expedient weapon.
Actually studies have repeatedly shown that the vast majority of knife attack victims survive. So as soon as someone says survival is impossible they prove they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about
"I hate to burst your bubble, but in reality, there is very little you can do against a skilled knife attacker." I had zero bubbles, from the title alone.
Exactly. Before I even clicked on the video I thought, "This is where being aware of your surroundings, and having a concealed firearm, comes into play.." introducing a bladed weapon completely changes everything. Put that blade in the hands of someone who knows how to use it, and there's just very little chance that a person survives that attack without an equalizer/force multiplier.
i studied martial arts for years then learned i didnt have too. I was christian all i needed to do was learn how to do exorcisms. Any person trying to kill you has demons you can call angel down to attack that demon.
@@Dee-qo7gh While I agree that anyone attacking you is likely inhabited by something, we have no control over angels. They are The Lord's alone to order. U need access to your knife quick...if it's a folder it should Not sit all the way in your pocket, but the clip should hold the folded knife a lil bit above your pocket for quick grab, deployment & counter offense attacks. Also see how victim/ defender has his fists up by his neck...I keep a pointed defense pen clipped on my inner shirt collar so I can grab it quick from that hands up defensive position.✌️🖖
Knives are and have been the original tools for survival. Also it don't run out of ammo, and it don't make loud noises, to be discreet. bring unnecessary attention.
Nobody wants to be in a combative situation with a knife. I am civil I am responsible of my own wellbeing of my knowledge and understanding of tactical close quarter combat with any tools from a Sharpie Marker - melee, kitchenware, tool cabinet, even toiletpaper. Most knife fighters in the military to learned to be stealthy with their tools. Nobody would even know who or what happened. And blame it on somebody to take the fall. This is the world we been surviving lately.
We were more humbling in the 90s...
Learn the trick of never being afraid of the knife. If you fear it. It will cut you! Or you will cut yourself... if you fear nothing and train yourself to catch flying blades and arrows and spar with someone to dodge block and use body weight momentum techniques from knife attacks. Is ideal
Practice make perfect
Enjoy my knowledge
U didn't show how to defend u showed how to attack
I thought the name of the video was "HOW TO DEFEND AGAINST..." Not "how to use a knife to make your opponent dead meat"
If you encounter a skilled knife wielder just run, create obstacles, throw things, and if you shoot learn to shoot while in motion…oh and never ever defend empty hand vs knife or machete….,,
Nice to have options, but a "skilled " opponent is probably gonna cut you or worse😂😂
Why do you always pick smaller guys to fight against in you demos?
Because we are short guys and Kevin is 6'3"
Lebih dari setengah video ini isinya bukan bagaimana cara defense attack knife..tapi bagaimana cara menikam..it means if we meet attack knife just run...😁
This is the reason why in the U.S. Navy 1960s-1980s the Puti (whites - No disrespect) were surprised at their Filipino shipmates knife skills. ✌️ I'm knife attack & counter proficient...but like most say...I WOULD run or get a stick or longer weapon quick.
You didn’t show how to disarm the attacker.
I HAVE BEEN LUCKY THE ATTACKERS WITH KNIFES WERE NOT GOOD KNIFE FIGHTERS, AND EASY TO TAKE OUT OR TO GET TO RUN AWAY WHEN THEY SEEN I WAS NOT A VICTIM; THEY WERE BECOMING THE VICTIMS OF A MARTIAL ARTIST THAT CARE NOT HOW I LEFT THEM INJURED OR WORSE ! BUT REMEMBER THIS THE BEST FIGHTER WILL SHOW HIS SKILL FIRST IF MORE THAN ONE IS ATTACKING YOU BEST OF LUCK ! I HAVE BEEN THERE AND I AM ALMOST 76 YEARS OLD NOW !...
All through history skilled knife fighters and sword fighters caught each other in battles. So it's not impossible to win.
But they were both armed with similar weapons
@@idx1941there are several news here in the philippines before who survived knife attacks from armed robbers but they are skilled fighters too like the old taxi driver who killed i think 2 robbers in manila but he is a doce pares in cebu and an uncle of my friend who killed a jeepney robber but he is a yawyan and kali practitioner also
I really don't like the implication that dudes with knives are somehow invincible.
@@glens2019 they are not...but they possess a deadly weapon, and if you are unarmed, then you don't!
@@glens2019 I never said they were.
So as soon as someone says survival is impossible they prove they have absolutely no idea what they are talking about
"I hate to burst your bubble, but in reality, there is very little you can do against a skilled knife attacker."
I had zero bubbles, from the title alone.
@@mattjack3983 The pew pew will have to do do.
i studied martial arts for years then learned i didnt have too.
Technically (maybe), per Jude 1:9, all you have to say is "The Lord rebuke you". If it worked on their leader, I assume it works on the minions, idk.
May we never acquire the knowledge.
@@RamonaQ obviously you know nothing about spiritual warfair. You know satanist can send demons to attack peoples lives but christans cant send angels to attack them back stop playing.

9:24 minutes of how to attack with a knife. 3 seconds to say Run or train martial arts. 9:21 minutes too long for the title of the video
I was able run very fast when I was young but not anymore. Now what?

Sorry, Sir, terrible thing is happening: More than six minutes out of 9 :24 you are demonstrating various ways of attacks with knife, the remaining 3 minites cannot save the presentation. A wrong approach. Paul, 67,retired instructor of Karate
I agree. He said "this isn't a video to teach you how to knife someone" - but that's EXACTLY what he's done.
Stupid!!
