Performace mode downscales the game to 1080p to run games at 120fps. You can't get both 4k and 120fps on games right now. Resolution mode keeps games running on 4k60fps
With HDMI 2.1 you can get 4k and 120fps, with the older HDMI the PS5 downscales to 1080p while running 120ps. Resolution mode is the same as ‘game default’ if the games doesn’t support 120fps. So yes 4k and 60fps with Ray tracing.
@@Robin-wy5ppu can only do native 4k at 120fps on very very few games. Think about it from a hardware pc stance. If the more expensive pc cant do it, the cheaper console will have a hard time doing it as well

Hi, 4K 120Hz does not normally equal 4K 120FPS. VRR feature of the TV /console is required to make it so that frames match the the display frequency be it via GSync or Freesync. If you expect 120FPS at 4K resolution you need powerful graphics. Does PS5 actually deliver 120FPS in 120Hz mode? Likely not.
The PS5 does not support VRR yet, but that is a feature update that will come out later this year. For games that support 4K 120hz like COD Cold War it is matching up with my LG CX OLED with HDMI 2.1 perfectly
I get 120 fps but the ps5 downgrades to 1080p when that happens so no you won't get 4k120fps on ps5 yet. Hopefully with the upgrade we will get what was promised
Go back and make sure that performance mode is turned on in the PS5 settings menu. If so, then go into video output information and make sure that the PS5 video output is matching your tv settings with the correct RGB and 4K
Doesn't that setting just change what the game will default to? I thought there was a specific 120 Hz option? Most games I prefer visuals, but for multiplayer games I do prefer the FPS. So it would suck for all my games to have to take a blow in visuals for the few multiplayer games I play.

What I am interested is what'd be the FPS levels you're playing the game on. Having 4k enabled @120hz doesn't mean you're "playing" Cold War at 120 FPS.
I have a predator XB323QKNV gaming monitor.. it has 2 2.1 HDMI Ports and supports 4K HDR at 144hz.. for some reason my PS5 will not pick up that it is capable of 4K 120hz.. I have set it to performance mode in the PS5 settings however on my video output information it is only showing as 4K at 60hz.. on your video you have it at 4K 120hz, what am I missing??? On my monitor it is reading 60hz in the menus but when I go on a game like rainbow six siege for example and set it to performance mode it starts picking up 120fps straight away however the resolution is reduced to 1080p… On my Xbox Series X however I am receiving 120fps as soon as I turn it on and on the display output for that it is registering that I can do 4K at 120fps… is this just a problem with the PS5? I had to buy a 4K UHD HDMI pass through emulator because I made the same mistake of buying a gaming monitor capable of 4K 144hz but was locked to 1080p 60hz and before you plug it in be sure to disable HDCP in settings and you can then select 120fps option in game

Ok so long story short, most 3080 and 3090 can’t run games at 4k 120. So normally the ps5 will use a dynamic resolution to get the 120hz. Some games like borderlands 3 is Only at 1080. But others like fortnite are close to 1800. 4k is 2160 btw. So basically the ps5 just isn’t strong enough to run 4k 120 as basically it needs a $3000 PC. Eventually maybe a few games will run at 4k 120. But even then we aren’t at a native 4k. We use a checkerboard system that is almost identical to native but requires less gpu power to do so.

It does support now, as with my SONY 65X91J, you actually have to go to your TV's HDMI setting and manually enabling the VRR feature of the corresponding HDMI port

You can get Sony XH900 in America or Sony XH9096 that’s a 4K 120fps gaming tv that is somewhat affordable and it’s advertised as a gaming tv. I’ve been using it with my ps5 and Xbox series and it’s pretty damn good considering I got it on offer for only $900

There's no way you're running call of duty at 120fps at 4k on Console 1080p or 1440p the 4k for Warzone is locked to 30fps or 60 Depeding on your montior

Guys I have a older samsung (kuf6300) tv. I believe it has 1 hdmi 2.1 port? All though its not the latest and greatest, can you guys recommend some ideal settings (hdr vs game mode on, contrast, color levels, dynamic contrast low, med, high or off). I'm not the most tech savy when it comes to calibrating tvs but I want this tv to show the best that it can as far as graphics are concerned (just got a ps5 a few dayz ago). My Ray tracing and 120Hz are both locked on my settings. I have the same set up as you.

Yes! Ps5 cannot do 4k 120fps. I test with Xbox SX en ps5 only Xbox can handle 120fps at 4k.

no its the same frame limit unless you upgrade it to 120 hz your frame rate will be lower on 4k

There’s the 3 high resolution packs which aren’t required to play the game, try and download them and see if it works

Movies are 24fps or 60fps at best, watching anything at 120hz would be pointless

I would suggest you to check on official fifa website regarding support of the game in 120hz

fifa doesn’t support 120 fps it’s capped at 60 and u need to have a tv or monitor that supports a 120 hz and plug it in to hdmi 4
I have a question do I have to buy the ps5 upgrade for Cold War so the 120 FPS setting appear on my screen?

Thats if the game brings the option to change to 120hz. This does not apply to every PS5 game.

Does ur monitor support 120? and make sure ur ps5 settings is on performance mode or else you wont be able to play at 120fps

I switched to performance mode, my Sony bravia A80J does have a HDMI port 2.1 and it supports 120hz but I still keep getting 60hz?
the 85 and up has 120hz i dont think the 80j has it
There's no way you're running call of duty at 120fps at 4k on Console
1080p or 1440p
the 4k for Warzone is locked to 30fps or 60 Depeding on your montior
You can play at 1080p@120fps and not 4k@120fps

Mine runs at 120hz but it doesn't go up to 4k why? my monitor supports it as well. I only get up to 1080 at 120 hz on my ps5 and I have 2.1 hdmi on my monitor

@@SlapNoCap plug the HDMI into port 1 instead of port 2 and you’ll get the 4k 120hz that’s how I fixed it

Guys I have a older samsung (kuf6300) tv. I believe it has 1 hdmi 2.1 port? All though its not the latest and greatest, can you guys recommend some ideal settings (hdr vs game mode on, contrast, color levels, dynamic contrast low, med, high or off). I'm not the most tech savy when it comes to calibrating tvs but I want this tv to show the best that it can as far as graphics are concerned (just got a ps5 a few dayz ago). If it helps my game room is small with low to medium sunlight visibility during the day. Thx in advance guys.
FPS and refresh rate are NOT the same thing
