Depp was watching this doctor’s testimony with great interest & amusement. I think we can all look forward to this guy’s mannerisms showing up in one of Depp’s future performances. 😂
I think the lawyer achieved exactly what he set out to do, which was to destroy the credibility of the expert witness. This allowed the jury to discount everything he said - and I believe they did so.
One of the jury instructions stated you could disregard testimony not only if you found the witness to be untruthful or not credible but also by their appearance and manner. Dennison gave the jury permission to just X out his entire testimony.
Depp’s lawyer made this guy say that Cluster B personality disorder is a high risk factor for IPV. And as the lawyer remind us later, there is only one person in that courtroom who is diagnosed as having Cluster B personality disorder. That was a Wow! moment for me listening in real time, and so I have no doubt that the jurors noticed that, too. That was the only thing I took away from his ramblings. The lawyer simply left the discrediting up to this expert who was doing it quite well with all the crazy ranting that was impossible for the jurors to follow. His technique is just different to Camille’s. He leaves the conclusion up to the jury, and the conclusion they reach is exactly the one the lawyer wants the jurors to arrive at. After all that ranting, the jurors are probably cursing the lawyer for not being sharp enough to go in for the kill like Camille. Which means, the jurors are ultimately on Depp’s side with regards to this witness.
Depp's lawyers were leaving the questions hanging because they understood that people tend to stick to conclusions they come to themselves with far more conviction than conclusions they are fed. It may feel incomplete to us on the outside, but the jury knew they are there to fill in those blanks.
Having watched the entire cross, I have to disagree with your overall conclusion. The witness throughout the cross is so utterly defensive he makes fundamental logical errors, was combative (there was a point where the judge corrected him for that without objection) absurd claims, and insists that he understands the lawyer's questions better than the lawyer himself. As well as outright admitting to ethical violations. He comes off as moronic at best, deceptive as a compromise, and outright psychotic at worst. (And while this perhaps requires more expertise, I've watched reviews from about 15 different psychiatrists explaining the numerous mistakes he made in his own field, really basic stuff too) The lawyer also steered this witness into admitting before the jury that Amber Heard had risk factors for domestic violence. People in the gallery where openly laughing at this witness. Oh, and there was a bit later on where he tried to get cute and sneak in some fact testimony, and was proven wrong about it, and when he was, defended himself by claiming he was deceived. By whom I wonder?
This lawyer comes across like a cat playing with his prey. If you look at all of his other cross examining this was long and drawn out for several reasons. They were ahead of time by almost 15 hrs, they didn’t want Johnny to testify that day and he was letting the witness dig his own hole. The witness was diagnosing JD without a formal evaluation and he even admitted to using facts someone told him. When he mentions the calling JD an “Idiot” it was a mocking question since he started his whole questioning with the APAs ethic annotation of the Goldwater Rule. Dennison used this line of (falsely) scattered of Cross examination mainly with two witnesses, the two psychiatrists who were themselves narcissistic buffoons. He gave them rope, made them at ease, they ended contradicting themselves and even apologised in some instances.
To the crazy Psychiatrists defense, JD did have a small cameo at the end of 21 Jump Street, as I think he was an actor in the original show, and they brought him in for the tie in.
If you had one of your expert witnesses go that disastrously, how quickly would you pull them from the stand? The last line of questioning is all about ethical violations. The lawyer gets the witness to admit to ethical violations, and to believing that ethics do not apply to him, which I think is sufficient impeachment to ignore anything he has to say.

Also, the audio levels are fine.
@@TheMeditorEditor No, I just ignored the channel and never gave it another thought. There are plenty of channels where creators pay attention to detail and take pride in getting it as close as possible to perfect for viewers like me not to bother with channels where the overall quality is slap-dash, to put it kindly.
I never gave it another thought until you jumped out of the troll-trolley just now with your argumentative comment. The content simply wasn't worth going through extraordinary measures to try to thresh the little bit of wheat from all the chaff.
I haven't seen this until now. She said Johnny wasn't in 21 Jump Street. He was. I think the first film was Elm Street, and then he got the role in 21 Jump Street.
You cant repeat what someone told you. Thats hearsay.
If the lawyers want to hear exactly what someone said they need to call them in to testify.
This doctor is a quack. 🤪🤪
Love your reactions to the trial clips. Please upload more videos to make available for United States viewers.

Johnny was in the original TV series ‘21 Jump Street” many years ago. 1987
I think he did well with hostle witness and tried to move him into unclarity.
I'm in America and can't subscribe 😢 I absolutely love how on point you are with your reactions and intelligent explanation and break down of this trail!! I would LOVE a reaction video for closing arguments!!!! Again I'm in America and currently can't subscribe for some crazy reason😢 or I definitely would support your channel and content

this is my second video in this channel and I am very enjoying this channel's videos
Johnny was in 21 Jump Street
The queen misses the point besides the fact that Depp was in 21 jump street, the original at least, but she misses the point here that this is only about the credibility of the expert and letting him dig his own grave which is much more powerful then the lawyer buying him.
He did pretty well I think
Johnny was in 21jumpstreet tv show in 1989
Yes.. Johnny was in 21 Jump street. He was one of the lead actors
There are some good comments here and you are good to listen to. could I suggest you she the sound balance between your solemn voice and the recorded clips? There's a big difference in volume between the two. Thanks

Why does it say this channel is not available?
I would assume if you deleted your channel none of the videos would be shown anymore. I'm in the US so not sure if that makes a difference.
In 1987 JD was in 21 Jump Street, the series and he also had a cameo in the movie
By the way, Johnny Depp was a lead in 21 Jump Street the tv series decades ago. The film with Channing Tatum is a spinoff production.
Actually, Depp's Carter really started in 21 Jumpstreet when he was in his early 20s.

Btw.....does anyone believe they picked the wrong Dr. Speigel?
well, why do i have a feeling the witness himself displays some pretty obvious traits of NPD. grandiosity, superiority, hostility, entitlement, arrogance, invalidation, dismissiveness, deficit in self-reflection, callousness, manipulativeness, blame-shifting, hypersensitivity to criticism.
Johnny Depp was in the tv show back in the 80s 21 jump street lol it was a tv show before it was a movie.
At 15.50, is the witness gurning through drug withdrawal?
I think that the examiner knew what he was doing. This was about credibility and this witness not credible at all. I think the lawyer did great ans the jury got the point.
It was the original 21 Jump Street TV series that gave Johnny Depp his first big break
