I just bought a 2002 307 XSE 3 door with 90000km. I could see instantly the paint and the trim was almost perfect, and soon found the engine perfectly clean. It drove like new and, like a traditional Peugeot, and it was priced ridiculously low. I cannot remember seeing a 3 door 307 before - what a beautiful little car. Surely the best 307 in Australia by a long margin. But I did expect to find some things, and guess which? Anti pollution alarm, sticking rear door handle, and one dim side on the central display. I cleared the anti pollution fault today with a scanner, and now this evening I discovered your videos for the rear door handle fix and the dim central display fix. Thank you so much. I love this little car!
I have a Peugeot 307 2001. I bought it last year hat this problem since the start but now id dint even close. The mechanic said he couldnt fix it. Thank you for helping me out on this one 😄
Instant Fix to this problem. This is gonna sound mad, but it actually works. Check that your electric mirror switch is completely to the left or right & not bridging between the two. This sorted my rear door instantly.
Got the same issue now. It done it for a while but now it opens automatically too at random times, like when I unlock car.. I driving around with trunk open (at least it doesn't slam open but..), I always push at bottom of it to close it even though this video I now found may help me get it fixed. Also additional my one passanger door is having similar issue all of sudden! Which temporary fix for that is also pushing it in the corners around to close it.
There is better solution to put some small spring to push back plastic piece. After this cleaning it will work ok for some time till dirt get in again.I have this problem every winter.
brilliant video but me being a bit lazy i just sprayed lots of penatraiting oil upwards and it worked may have to do this prosses if it comes back to quick to often
Hi. I have a peugeot 307 from 2006. When I'm unlocking the car from the key , the boot opens and when I'm in the car and open the driver's door , the boot opens.
@@screwsnutsandbolts And it works! I let the handle on it's place, just penetrated with WD40 and made a thin plastic tool to pull back the plate. Push and pull several times until the plate jumps back normally. My advice: don't lift the door by holding this fragile plastic plate! After the switch opened you must catch the handle and lift up that way. And a big thanks for your help!
Hi there, could you tell me the names of the tools you're using to take the 10mm bolts/nuts off from the inside? I've been searching everywhere for a tool like this but no idea what it's called
It's just a 10mm socket with an extension bar like this: www.wonkeedonkeetools.co.uk/sockets-and-socket-sets/how-to-use-an-extension-bar-with-a-ratchet-and-socket
excellent - thank you!! Like many others here, came looking for this exact problem. A question please, if you don't mind: having thoroughly cleaned this handle ans switch part, it moves freely but there's no "springing back". Is there a spring of some form inside this latch? Clearly mine has none.
@@screwsnutsandbolts that's hugely helpful, thank you! Have just ordered a replacement switch. It was still well worth cleaning all the grunk out of the latch though :)
I am trying to remove the handle on my Toyota 307, but the nuts have rusted into the screws, so the whole screw just spins around. How do I get rid of it in the easiest way?
I tried this yesterday on my sister's car. I put a spring from a pen but it didn't work. I only had yesterday night to fix it because my sister was taking it to the mechanic the next day so I didn't have time to clean and oil it. She wasted 100€ at the mechanic when a replacement switch only costs 5€. Your video helped a lot though so thanks! I will say if someone forgets to plug in the handle and closes the boot then this video might save you ua-cam.com/video/zplksSXAuwQ/v-deo.html

What kind of penetrating oil did you use? Would using WD-40 be ok?
Yes WD-40 should be fine

There's a microswitch inside the latch which should spring back out after you press it. Maybe that's broken ?

I have a slightly different problem. I need to push the rear door with my thumb while pressing the door handle. Unless the door won't open. Any idea?
You have to push the door down before pressing the handle to release it ?
Good vid !
Thanks !
Tnx man

I've never worked on one so I don't know, sorry. What year is your 305 ?

I removed it all cleaned it very well with WD40 but still not working 100% mine must be worn
Yes it sounds like the microswitch itself could be worn out
Great!
Thanks !
