- Robin Hugh Gibb CBE, 62 (22nd December 1949 - 20th May 2012) was a British singer, songwriter and record producer, who gained worldwide fame as a member of the pop group the Bee Gees. Their younger brother Andy was also a singer. Robin Gibb also had his own successful solo career. Gibb was born on the Isle of Man to English parents, Hugh and Barbara Gibb; the family later moved to Manchester (where Andy was born) before settling in Redcliffe, a suburb of Brisbane, Australia. Gibb began his career as part of the family trio (Barry-Maurice-Robin). When the group found their first success, they returned to England where they achieved worldwide fame. In 2002, the Bee Gees were appointed as CBEs for their "contribution to music". However, investiture at Buckingham Palace was delayed until 2004.

A sad passing for sure. The Bee Gees gave our world something very special, musical talents that seemed to stream from a magic place of inspiration, Heaven perhaps. The music will live on in our sounds, hearts and memories... forever bringing joy to the world. Condolences to Barry and the Gibbs family.

As a lifelong Buddhist, I can only echo the words of Siddartha we are born, we age, we get sick and we die! Its reality my friends. Having said that the BeeGees were my favourite guys throughout the 70s, 80s and beytond!
Bee gees have been in my life with there music since I was in junior school, now in mid sixties,I love all there songs . Talented musicians, loved by millions, may be gone but not forgotten. As long as Barry carries on, they will still be with us.

My parents introduced your music to me when i was 8 years older and I am doing the same to my kids and they will do the same to their and so on!

Robin looked sick for years i though he had anorexia tbh..
But in the last stage of his life you could see he had cancer...
I wasn't shocked by this news..

Barry was tall, handsome, virile, and sexy not to mention talented. Robin was all those things as well, but it was the broader appeal of Barry that won him more attention. We've all been there, deserving of attention and praise but aced out by a slightly prettier or handsome rival. It is harder to bear when it is your sibling that is part of the family business.

I’ve always been a Begees fan and thought it was cool that I live in Redcliffe (where the Gibbs grew up)
But I just learned that I also share a birthday with robin, May he Rest In Peace.
We were lucky to see them when they performed in Canada. Can't forget these magical musicians. We were lucky to live and witness these brothers in our generation God bless you BArry and the Gibb families💘
