- Let's put my 171 IQ to the test...
Now and again, I will go through some of my favorite Mario Maker 2 creators and hand select levels that I have been wanting to play but just didn't have time to get around to it. Today we are playing some of those levels!
The level ID's are in the video, be sure to check them out and play them, they are all fantastic levels made by fantastic creators!

Don’t you ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever, let DGR tell you he has an IQ of 171. It’s actually 125.
Cashew brain: Letting DGR Dave tell you he has 171 IQ
Big brain: Letting DGR Dave tell you he has 171 IQ but still believing it's only 125
I mean, this test only goes up to 167 anyway
@@quarepercutisproximum9582 True point.
@Mega Mewtwo Well the end coins were meant to be there, because it assumes you have at LEAST 70 IQ, and like, it's not gonna start at baby tests, like, you know. Because I mean you have at least 70 IQ if you were able to start and like, play the level.

Chris is so reliable at showing us not the clip that we need, but the clip
We deserve
Chris's clip game is on fire today :D
…Where does he get all these videos anyway?…
Chris really did him dirty with that second clip 😂
@@albailey2346 pretty sure Dave dirtyed himself in that clip
@@clexo2155 Yeah, I was thinking that's the case there
Chris is so great showing us the correct clip
Flawless Chris, flawless! 👏👏
Thank you, Chris. You've done us a great service.
This is literally a Mario Maker non-Verbal reasoning SAT test. It's fascinating.
I did one of these a few months ago at the _Bundesagentur für Arbeit_ (Federal Agency for Jobs/Work) …
I paused the video and took time to find the pattern/solution for each of the questions in the iq test, if you don’t want to be spoiled, skip over this comment until you’ve watched through the first level. Also, long comment warning, since I go over each question individually here.
Dave was right about the practice question, it was just copying what was in the top 2 rows.
Same concept for the first question as the practice question, just with different colours for each row.
Question 2 has a pattern of mush, SMB2, 1-up for each of the rows, with 1 object that doesn’t change added in.
On 3, each box is a 90 degree clockwise rotation of the box to the left.
Question 4 is similar to 3, as the question block moves counter clockwise for each box. The ice block doesn’t move for each pattern, and when the question block moves on top of it, it covers the ice block.
Question 5 is arithmetic. The third box in each row is the difference between the first 2.
6 is the same idea as question 5, but with clown cars mixed in. The clown cars follow the same rules as the coins.
7 is like the opposite of 5. In each row, the third box shows which positions didn’t change between the first 2.
In 8, the third box in each row shows the enemies that appear only once in the first 2 boxes. For example, in the first row the goomba appears twice, once in the first box and once in the second. Therefore, the goomba does not appear in the third box. However, the buzzy beetle isn’t seen in the second box, only in the first one. So it is included in the third box.
9 is a confusing one, but in short, it is a mix of addition and subtraction. To get the third box, you add the p blocks together and subtract the pow blocks from each other in the first 2 boxes. In the first row, 1p + 1p = 2p, and 2 pows - 1 pow = 1 pow.
In the 10th question, I can’t confirm if I’m correct or not, but here’s what I think it is. First you have to find the difference between the first 2 boxes, like in question 5. Then you have to rotate the result clockwise to get the third box, like in question 3. This means the correct answer would be two coins on the right side of the box.
Alright, I should probably watch the rest of the video now…
I’m even more confused on 4 to 9 now 😂
For 10 I think you mean anticlockwise
For the 7th. I can defend the answer he ended up on.
You rotate it 180 degrees before inverting (removing overlapping coins, and adding single coins). Edit: you rotate between all frames, making it consistent.
This fits for every row and line, except you end up with the 3 coin result in the last frame.
It probably would need some changes in order to just have 1 answer. (since we aren't supposed to find the pattern going back from the answer)
@Drakorise No, I mean clockwise. Think about it on the second row.
THANK YOU!!
#9 was drivin' me nuts!
The way I understand it, you need to take multiple IQ tests to get your average. Because a high score could be a fluke or your average. Also Chris is the ultimate troll on a channel dedicated to being trolled. No one will ever troll Dave harder.
I'm sure some of the Q's (if not all) have legit paths? But it affects the number of coins you are able to collect at the endgame?
@@netweed09 yeah it's a "you can't lose" level because it's testing your pattern finding skills not your gameplay skills. It's like a "spot the difference" that doesn't punish you for wrong answers.
The questions were waaay easier than a regular IQ test. Taking multiple verified tests is a good way to get an average.
@@amara560 yeah. It was more like something out of an intermediate puzzle book. But it was probably the best they could've came up with. Still a cool and impressive level though.
@@DJDroz-gh5nt Definitely. It was a fun and origin level!
1:40 and 4:27 "I am so smart! S-M-R-T!" LOL reminded me of the Homer Simpson meme.

26:03 That tells me he was DEFINITELY popular. Popular dudes 90% of the time dont think they were that guy.
Level confirms that Dave has 125 IQ and not 171 IQ
12.5 IQ 😁
I got 170 on a actual IQ test. I wasn't that confident about it until i discovered that the more confident you are with something, the more likely you are to be bad at it

@@joneyisbigfunny I can conform to confirming that comforming currents are currently confirming that conforming currently is not confirming
Ahhh annoying bots
DGR and his wife have an amazing dynamic 🤣🤣
32:28 this is why we love when she pops in for a chat lol
Love how your wife talking was making you distracted and die a lot 🤣
The questions were complex and distinct enough that that could have been based on a legitimate test... They just needed to hide the coins better between questions
yeah!! I think its so cool how they made the level
I love how creative people can get with mario maker so much
Oooh! Hand-picked levels by DGR! All of these should be absolutely awesome! I'm so excited. I love things like these.
“Call me Tom Petty”
*Immediately dies*
Noooo
Well, Tom Petty did…
Very funny to hear Dave talking about never doing a hot tub stream
Some neat puzzles there. Hint: several of the puzzles can be solved by thinking in terms of abstract algebra; namely, solving the equation X+Y+Z=C in (Z/2Z)^4.
IQ test solutions
1: obvious
2: obvious
3: coin is moving around counter clockwise
4: ice block is moving around clockwise and hides behind the ? block, ? block doesn't move
5: top row shows original positions middle row adds new coins but if there's already a coin there they cancel out
6: same idea as 5 and there can also only be 2 clown cars per row
7: over lapping coins and empty spots have a coin in the 3rd column, spots with a single coin are left empty
8: there's always only 2 goombas, buzzy beetles and spike tops per row and there is only a koopa if it was also in column 2
9: adding the p blocks, subtracting pows
10: keep the non over lapping coins then rotate clockwise (so 3rd row should have same solution as middle row if I'm right)
Agree with most but my logic was different on a few even if results were same
4: ice block is moving clockwise if looking at it as 3 columns with ? block not moving, ? block is rotating counter clockwise if looked at as 3 rows with ice block not moving, ice block is behind ? block if overlapping.
5. Works if you look at it as columns or rows.
6: same as 5 but think of clown car as another coin (if there is already a clown car there they cancel out) doesn't matter if you go by column or by row the result is the same.
7. Same as 5 but then invert the result (coin becomes empty and empty becomes coin)
8. Same as 5 but using enemies instead of coins
10. Same as 5 but rotate the result clockwise.
Just want to add: None of your explanations were wrong I just find it fascinating that there are multiple approaches to reach the same result and wanted to share mine!
Dave: This is a really old level chat, it came out in like 2019 I think.
Me: *insert that meme of the guy speed aging*
It's videos like this that remind me just how good you have become at this game. I remember when you were just learning to shell jump. My man is ALL grown up!!!
Dave: I have 171 IQ!
Level: No, you have 125 IQ!
Thumbnail: No, you actually have 167 IQ!
How to make a good level in 2022 (according to this video)
Step 1: Have autoscroll
Step 2: Be a kaizo
These iq questions are really not easy yet so rewarding when you find out the solution
For a no spin fly zone there was a lot of spin flying
Gosh! I love things like these because their abstractness makes them REALLY intriguing and difficult!
Thanks for the IQ battle! I got 10/10. =P (100% honest, not cheated and no cheat-sheet (by look ahead))
Means I got the real 171 IQ. ;)
Lol "That's gonna be on UA-cam!" - DGR in what is arguably the most embarrassed mindset I've seen him in.
Hi dgr love ur content. I enjoyed ur stream yesterday 👍
These are easily some of the most creative levels I've ever seen in Mario Maker 2.🔥👑💎
Haha, I seriously solved them all right (or at least on the ones where you were wrong,. I had another one than the one you guessed). Last one I assumed as "a xor b, then rotate 90 degrees to the right", although that seems contrived. Solution would be "both coins right".
Thanks-that was the only one I couldn't figure out and that solution makes sense.... was making me mad >:(
Mario Map Idea: Start off the level with 3 one way doors. Each door will have its own seperate level entirely with checkpoints, kaizo tricks, or etc. 2 of the doors will end in a soft lock. 1 of the doors will be the actual finish.
Chris showing the correct clip every time. Yes. Nothing wrong here. 🤣
I like how Amanda wont do a hot tub stream because pervs but suggests Dave does one as if there wont be just as many pervs
I mean, a female is generally going to attract more pervs then a male…
Keep it up your videos is awsome!

まさか読書さんのコースがDGRさんに遊ばれるとは… すげ〜!
What did Amanda say at the end? Right before DGR says "that's gonna be on UA-cam?"
The trick to most of the IQ questions you had a problem with, was getting them to even out. In each row of three when you count each of the objects there were 2 copies of each object present. So the missing tile is just whatever you need to make sure the first two sections plus the last section equal two of the objects present.
On the blank P space and POW block one, the p spaces were additive. The POW was subtractive.
That being said I'm not 100% sure on the last one. I THINK it was 2 on the bottom, but I'm not 100% and I don't actually own a switch or Mario Maker so I'll never know unless someone here tells me XD
i know its super late but im pretty sure the last one is coins on the right side
“The only way I’d do a hot tub stream was if it was for a charity.” Meanwhile, Dave raising an incentive for a hot tub stream right now:
lvl 5 it's amazing!! 2:38 you need to see if coins have contac with other coins, then the coins disapear. if is a coin is in contac with the nothing then a coin apear. if nothing is in contac with nothing, then nothing happen; example: section A1- is a coin in left up corner, nothing in right up corner, nothing in down left corner, is a coin in down right corner - section A2- is a coin in left up corner, is a coin in right up corner, nothing in left down corner, nothing in right down corner so the answer in section A3 is: A1 coin in left up corner have contac with A2 coin in left up corner so they disapear, is nothing; then in A1 up right corner is nothing in contact with A2 coin up right corner, so is a coin; then A1 in down left corner is nothing in contac with A2 nothing, so is nothing; finally A1 coin in down left corner is in contac with A2 nothing, so is a coin, and there it is A3 final answer, you can prove it in the other sections too, you need to compare section B1 and B2 to have the final answer in section B3, finally, you need to compare section C1 and C2 to have the final answer in section C3 :D, hope this help
I can try to explain how I think the questions in the IQ level are supposed to be solved.
Problem 0: This one is simple, the arrows are in a pattern of top left, top, and top right. The pattern does not change between the first two iterations, thus the third, if following the pattern, would do the same.
Problem 1: The direction of the pipes in the first column are facing down with each following column rotating them clockwise, and each row having a matching color. Therefore, the bottom right pipe would have the same rotation as its column and the same color as its row, that being an upwards facing green pipe.
Problem 2: This is actually the exact same problem as the previous one, just disguised with a different look. Each row contains a different stationary miscellaneous item while each column contains a different type of mushroom. The answer is once again going to contain the same item in its row and the same mushroom in its column, that being a donut block and a 1-UP mushroom respectively.
Problem 3: This one is actually closer to the example problem than the first two in that there is no row/column based pattern but rather an entirely rotation-based one. With each step the coin's position is rotated 90 degrees from the center, resulting in it always ending 180 degrees from its starting position. Thus, the answer here is the coin in the bottom left corner, as it begins in the top right in its row.
Problem 4: Again the exact same problem as 1 and 2, just disguised yet again. The question block is in a different position each column, sometimes obscuring the ice block, which is in a different position each row, but we know the ice block is always in the same position between rows even if the question block is in the way as it does not get erased if the question block moves over it while rotating counterclockwise by the center each step. So, we know the third row places the ice block on the top right permanently, and since the third column show the question block in the bottom left position, that should hold true as well.
Problem 5: This is where the problems have to be faced as A+B=C problems rather than steps. In this case, the leftmost two columns combine to create the output on the rightmost column, and here we can see that coins cancel eachother out when their positions overlap but remain in the same position otherwise. So, if we overlap the two columns in the last row, the top left coins cancel eachother out leaving behind the top right and bottom left coins as the answer.
Problem 6: Same problem with two variables. Coins in matching positions when overlaid still appear to cancel eachother out, but the same may not be able to be confirmed for clown cars- though if the pattern is to be trusted, they cancel eachother out as well. With the bottom right coins cancelling out and the two clown cars cancelling out, the bottom left coin is all that remains as the solution.
Problem 7: The coins still cancel eachother out when matching their positions, however this time the solution appears to invert itself. When putting together the expected solution for the first two rows, the places where coins should be are empty and the places where there shouldn't be any have coins. Therefore with the last row presenting top left, top right, and bottom left coins combined with top left and bottom right coins resulting in the bottom left coins cancelling eachother out and every other position being a coin, inverting the answer means the bottom left position becomes the only position with a coin for this answer.
Problem 8: Don't let all the chaotic movement fool you, this is the exact same problem as 5 and 6 but with multiple variables at play. When combining the first two columns, the third column contains everything from both columns except if an enemy of the same kind was in both previous boxes. The problem contains a goomba in one box and a buzzy beetle in another, and since they don't exist in both boxes at the same time they become part of the answer. However, the spike top does exist in both boxes and thus is not part of the answer, resulting in it being a goomba and buzzy beetle, nothing more.
Problem 9: In this one, much like the last however this time it's clear and important, position does not matter. We can see pow blocks are the same as coins here, cancelling eachother out if one exists in both boxes. Simple math, 2-1=1, 1-1=1, and for the last one, we know 1-0=1 so the solution contains one pow block. The p-switch blocks on the other hand are additive, 1+1=2, 0+1=1, and lastly, 1+2=3. Three p-switch blocks and one pow block.
Problem 10: This one tricked me at first, I thought the ones with background semisolids indicated they were the A+B and the one without was the C, but that was not right when I figured out the answer. It turns out, the coins are still acting the exact same, cancelling eachother out in matching positions and staying in otherwise, however the answer is just rotated 90 degrees clockwise, that's it. For the last problem, the bottom two sets of coins cancel out leaving only the top two, which rotate to become the rightmost two.
Hope this helps anyone who may not have understood some of the answers!

DGR should try the MENSA test. He would be very disappointed to see that 171 IQ on Internet means 90-100 in real life.
Below average, eh? That sucks :P

4:23 I frickin' knew it. The creator changed the rule. It's a set of three columns instead of three rows. Now anything's fair game. _GreAT._
Docking points from myself for letting him show me the answers to #10 to get a clue to what this nonsense is. I notice these blocks have a background in two of each set, where no previous question has backgrounds at all. A clue?
Final edit: I give up. 🏳️ I'd have timed out a long time ago. Got the other nine correct, though, so I'm not _stupid,_ per se. Dave's likely smarter at this sort of thing, though.

@@phosphorus4 Yeah, I got the first seven right by treating them like the practice. It's possible there's multiple ways to come to the right answer, but I would be surprised.
I will give the creator credit for one thing: it's a fairly easy puzzle to solve once you look at it as columns rather than rows (same math as previous questions), so it wasn't two curveballs at once.

if a coin is in the first box and the same place in the second box, they cancel each other out and the third box is empty in that spot
Replace the coins with negative numbers and the blank space with positive numbers then multiply each space in the first square with the same space in the second square.
A negative x a negative = positive
or a coin and a coin = blank
A positive x a positive = positive
or a blank and a blank = blank
A positive x a negative = negative
or a blank and a coin = coin

Trying to figure out question 4 ...... gosh, this is difficult!
EDIT: I eventually decided on an answer I wasn't confident in and turned out wrong! DGR got it right, though ... Was it diagonally reflected along the three lone question-mark blocks? I was wondering if that was the solution but I just couldn't process it well enough to be sure.
Not sure if you were still curious but i found that each row had the ice block always in 1 spot and the ? block moved counter-clockwise, if they were in the same spot the ? took over the ice.
Wow, that first level (the second level was cool too but that's beside the point), the IQ one was quite impressive, by the way I am Autistic, so that would probably explain why I was so good at it, why I am so intelligent. So guess what, I don't to brag, at least not too much but I was following along, actually working them out myself along the way, I was able to work them out all in my head without using paper, guessing or human help. The ones I solved, I solved fair and square. How many did I get correct though? Well, guess what? I actually got them all, 10 out of 10! And heck! For all of them but the last 2 *I didn't even need to look at the choices!* and yeah. Quite smart I am. It only goes up to 167 but I got them all correct and you know, with the extra smartness of not using paper etcetera. So that means my IQ is at LEAST 167, maybe it's 4 more, and my IQ is 171 lul. Yeah, by the way, I know the answer to the last one (well of course I do because I got them all correct). The answer is the 4th one, the one most to the right (yep, right is right, haha). The one with the 2 coins at the bottom 2, yeah, that one. It's because the pattern is that the 'shape' is put together and rotated right (as in all coins move one square in the right rotation direction if you know what I mean), then any coins that are overlapping on another coin rotate right once more, and the coins that are still overlapped become empty. And yes, I gotta say, I am pretty smart, if I do say so myself. 🤓
