VX125 has its own quick release plate But your head seem equally good for the camera. 👍 You don’t need a receded board for 90mm lens unless you are doing some Big movements. Make sure to keep rail clean. Enjoy one of the Best 5x4s ever made 😀
Honestly I have 4x5, 5x7 and 8x10 cameras. I dont recommand 8x10. 5x7 is awesome and you get almost the same results as a 8x10 on a scan. Get any 180-210mm enlarger lens and build your own cardboard box to play 8x10 with paper negative, cheapest option
My desire is to eventually shoot Polaroid 8x10 instant films, but of course if they are able to make something in 4x5 form I will abandon that dream forever!

I have the 8X10 ( field camera) and it is a monster and it comes in @10Kg camera only .... Haha, but it is all love ..
