Beautiful video and images, Florian. The first image that appeared when you described the printing process (at 6:45) was incredible! I'm pleased to have discovered your channel, so I have subscribed and look forward to viewing more of your content.
Many thanks Stuart, this is incredibly nice of you. I am currently working on the next video. It will be up in the next couple of weeks hopefuly. Have a nice one!
Beautiful photographs. I was surprised at the difference in quality between the two formats, though my memories of HP5 (from more than thirty years ago, I just now realised-to my horror!) are that it _is_ somewhat grainy. New subscriber, I look forward to seeing more of your work!
Well thank you sir! Munch appreciated. Yes 8x10 provides with an improved quality and finer grain because of the size of it. Both have been developed in HC110 1+31 dilution. New vidéo should be up next week! Thanks again for the support.
Great video and the Nagaoka is beautiful. I have an Ikeda Anba 5x4 which is nearly identical on a smaller scale. For 10x8 I use a Deardorff and print kallitypes toned in palladium. I admire you doing woodland photography, though, I find it very challenging. Look forward to seeing future videos.
Thank you! Deardorff cameras are absolutly wonderfull. I almost bought one a couple of years ago but I found them to be a bit too heavy for me. Of course they are incredibly sturdy because of that and So well made. I am still experimenting on Kallitypes, but so far pure Palladium has given me the best results with the Kind of paper I work with. The toning step seems to be the last step some of the Gampi paper I use won’t tolerate. I would love to see some of your work, where can I see it ? Thanks again for checking in and for the nice words.
Really enjoyed this video and I am looking forward to your future work! The 8x10 images work very well together. I am doing mostly woodland fotos on medium and large format, printing them as kallitypes (for the cost, but also because of the toning options). So this type of images is very close to my heart.
I am glad to hear that. Where can I see your work ? It seems that we share quite a lot of interests and vision. Kallitype is a great option too but the paper I work with aren’t to keen on it. I need to work fast for they deteriorate fast with long process in water/chemistry.
@@florianguillonantigny Thanks for your interest. I have posted some pictures under Manuel Lion on Flickr. Yes, with delicate papers, kallitype is probably not the best process. The only finer/higher resolution paper I have tried so far is marker paper with an inner waterproof layer.
@@manuellion6300i will make sure to have a look there then. Paper is really and interesting part of the process. I am actualy recording the printing process video tonight. Two papers for two different prints
Very nice composition - Have you ever thought about using very old lenses - Like Voigtlander, Wollensak, Cooke or Grundlach from back in the 1920s-- or even before the turn of the century, Some can be quite nice and not always expensive if you don't mind using your lens cap as the shutter. Thank you for the video.
Thank you! I am currently on a market for one as we speak. I am looking for a specific Dallmeyer. They would fit perfectly for my dry plate and wet plate I believe but I need to find « the one »
Fantastic photos, those large format ones have a wonderfull look to them. i shoot digital on a cheap Cannon but i love the look of large format. eishing your channel lots of success in the future. subcribed
This is incredibly Kind of you thanks for that. The camera is just the tool I am sure that you will produce Great work with it of you put enough dedication in the process. Large format is getting pretty affordable these days (not cheap by any mean but not that expensive either if you shoot reasonnably). Give it a tru someday😉
Very beautiful forest pictures. Interesting, well-made film. I think it's an interesting idea to take both cameras with you. It would be too heavy for me and my equipment (Shen Hao 4x5 and Mamiya RB67)! So I always have to decide: large format or medium format! I've subscribed to your channel and am very excited about more films. Kind regards and all the best.
This is incredibly Kind of you. I did not expect to receive this kind of message, this gives me all the more motivation to work on the future videos (that will arrive late october early november). The RB is such a Great camera, a beast but an incredible camera to work with, very similar to the large format approach. I don’t always bring a médium format camera on these outings but I Will usually have another camera (Xpan for exemple) for some « scooting » work. I can then decide if the composition is worth bringing the 8x10 or 4x10, the best season and light to shoot it. Thanks again !!
Hey Ruud, Well thanks for watching. That’s a nice setup you are working with! I love working with both large format and medium format at the same time. Different rythm and approach helping to enhance your vision in the field. The lenses are packed just above the 8x10, I try to maintain as much weight as I can on the bottom of the backpack to make it more comfortable on long walks.
Love the video and keep enjoying what you do.
Thank you very much !
Loveley to see you using the nagaoka 10x8, I have the 5x4 version and it is beautifully simple and light.
It is!
These are just incredible cameras!

New subscriber and enjoyed the video and your images. look forward to many more!
Many thanks sir!
Much appreciated
Lovely images, especially the large format as compared to the medium format. Thank you
Thanks! And thank you also for this interesting feedback. I tend to agree with you.
Great stuff! Can't wait for the next one and learn more about why you chose paladium printing for this project.
A bientôt au labo !
Thanks Louis!
Love the birds eye view. Very jealous of your setup.
Thanks!
Patience is key, it took me years to get there with this kit.

Thank you for sharing. I really like this approach. I mainly use a 4*5 next to my Bronica. What part of the backpack you put your lenses?
