    Panel: Walking the Finance Tightrope
Kate Levick, Associate Director, Finance & Resilience, E3G
Paul Bodnar, Director of Sustainable Finance, Industry & Diplomacy, Bezos Earth Fund
Adama Mariko, Secretary General, Finance in Common
Vera Songwe, Co-Chair of High Level Expert Panel on Climate Finance
The global community is unanimous in calling for transformation of the financial system in order to combat dangerous climate change, yet for all the many calls to action political agreement on the necessary reforms remains elusive. In recent months we have seen acceleration of efforts at national and international level both to manage climate-related economic risks and vulnerabilities, and to unleash a massive wave of new finance firepower particularly for emerging markets and developing economies. This panel explores whether the global system is equipped to address both imperatives simultaneously and how the international community can collectively manage the political and distributional trade-offs involved.
E3G is an independent climate change think tank with a global outlook. We work on the frontier of the climate landscape tackling the barriers and advancing the solutions to a safe climate.
Our goal is to translate climate politics, economics and policies into action.
