@cgilleybsw Channel your inner Dr. Evil from Austin Powers: Goldfinger when you bottom out and ask "What would Dr. Evil's sub do?" It'd fart, which is what I like to think happens when you use the ballast tanks to rise.

The first Romeo went active, when you increased speed to 10 kts. You were close enough to her to fire a torpedo, even if you went all stop. That close to the bottom, you should have stowed the towed array. Anyway, you got the chance to fire on both Romeos at the same time! That's a better option than taking them on, one at a time.
I wonder how many people have actually seen that film: Run Silent, Run Deep. One of my favs Wolfpack and highly recommend if you haven’t seen it starring Clark Gable…still get chills when they’re listening on sonar and the operator says “what is that sir? I cant make that out.”
The game probably sees your 8 TLAM's, 6 TASMs and 4 torps and thinks "they have 19 weapons, they're fine!". Could be a thing if you're low on torps again at some point after completing a mission, before you exit it, to dump all the missiles (see if you have any 'neutral' but chinese flagged merchants and blast them or shoot at nothing) and just fire the TLAMs at nothing and you'll get recalled with an empty magazine.
Hey Wolf, since they’ve updated dot mod, those older submarines can’t hear a torpedo in the baffles if you leave them on passive sonar homing. I’ve killed quite a few without a single retaliatory torpedo being fired. The quieter subs will hear the torpedo at slower speeds but, when they’re going faster, they won’t hear them on passive either.
I love how much observation there is in this game. Half the time youre observing the fruits of your labor in excruciating detail. Most games are so fast and frenetic, you dont have time or opportunity to watch your enemies reeling. I.e Ultimate admirals dreadnoughts, its fun AF. But i usually need to micro my boats if i wanna survive. I cant watch all the hits misses and flash fires like i want to.
Just surface when there are no warships around, the helicopter dropped torpedoes can't hit surfaced targets... once he's dropped his two torpedoes and they've run out of fuel, dive & disengage.
Grabbing a snack and checking if Wolfpack has posted Cold Waters has became a habit at this point. I absolutely love the narration and cinematography of your playthroughs.

iirc when you map travel leave with the sub in default slow and silent speed so that if you detect a contact in route your sub drops back to that slow and silent speed. That way you won't be dropped in the simulator going full speed.
@@timonsolus Bolting a deck gun onto a merchant ship would be fast and cost the ship nothing much. You could probably stick some recoiless rifles or ATGMs on the sides of the ship too and have those work just fine against a submarine. In comparison, you'd make your submarine louder by putting a deck gun on it (water flow makes noise when it hits the gun) compromising your stealth (and also speed) just for the very rare opportunity to have a gun battle with a ship that will easily outgun you quite soon after word of your surface antics gets around. The easy arming of merchant ships is a big reason deck gun attacks became obsolete during WW2 to begin with. The Germans started removing their deck guns midway through the war.
A trick I use to quickly classify what type of vessels it is, is by listening to their engines noise when you are focusing on them. Save you a lot of time.
Bought this and even though the graphics are not 4K they are not bad for the age of the game. You don't get many games like this so I'll consider myself lucky.
I feel like the one thing missing to make the Seawolf absolutely unstoppable is a sub-launched rocket-propelled ASW torpedo, like the ASROC on NATO ships or the Vodopad on WP subs. That would allow you to finish any engagement in ridiculously short times, as long as you have a solution.
