Mothering, homeschooling, and taking care of a home is most definitely a job. Glad y'all brought that to light. It's so easy to feel like we need to be doing more and we really do SO much. Be proud of your job, it's an accomplishment 👏

Totally agree. The bulk of the homeschooling and home maintenance falls on my wife and it is a full time job!

Running a home? You mean running a giant homestead. Exponentially more work. And not to forget running this YT channel. I don’t know how she has enough hours in the day!

When our kids were little I tried to always have a list on the fridge of extra jobs and what they paid. The more I disliked the job the more I paid, lol. It was quite successful because when they wanted to buy something they had control. I had a longterm goal of trying to raise them to know they could achieve their own goals and depend on themselves.

Now that was a solid way to raise them!!
I have simple things like wash your plates, clean your room and mow the yard etc he will do, period..
If my son wants cash, then he can do some harder stuff like weeding the beds or moving dirt etc..
I LOVE THE GOOD ATTITUDE THESE KIDS HAVE OVER ALL

Thank you for discussing your mental health! Sometimes the condition of my garden depends on how active my depression is, and it's kind of a cycle of trying to keep it going when those phases arise. I appreciate the advice to treat it like therapy.

I have watched this video three times. It’s so sweet and heart warming. I’m not sure if anyone else noticed but I am seeing something really moved me that your husband always got his arm in a cuddly position on you. That is just so so sweet and full of love. All the best.

Yes make a video about the books that helped you. There are so many resources, but ones recommended by you would be the best way for someone to start whatever part of homesteading they are interested in. Great job. Always inspired by both of you.

My husband and I met at BYUI as well where I was born and raised. We own a home in Rexburg and are actively searching for a home and land to homestead! Finding it has been much harder than we thought considering the market and world events. We are continually learning so much from your family. Thank you! We are anxious to put our knowledge to good use.

You're LDS that's awesome! I went to BYUI that's actually where my interest in homesteading perked up. I came from Portland and Rexburg was a culture shock...but in the best way possible! When you started the video my eyes went to the scriptures in the bookshelf and I was like...I've only seen one religion with scriptures like that 🤪

I feel like every time you talk about yourself I find more and more similarities! Thank you for sharing this. I am currently working full time with two very young boys, and one of the things that helps me if I'm feeling anxious about my garden (as I do not have time to keep it like I'd like to, which creates anxiety about it, and decreases the fulfillment I get from it, and turns into a vicious cycle of avoidance and increasing anxiety) is remind myself something Jessica sowards said, imperfect gardens feed people too. It helps me focus on my goals instead of the weeds that I wish I would have dealt with. Making goals really helps me too!

I’m so happy you guys did this video. Thank you so much for answering our questions! ☺️
I’m glad you added your bonus advice of “don’t get too caught up learning before you do it.” That is 100% me! I tend to overdo it. I feel like I’ve been researching so much (since I’m in an apartment with no land) but haven’t started anywhere. I need to start and try with what I can such as canning or gardening.

One thing I do to keep busy in the winter is I either freeze the fruit or steam juice it and make my jellies and jams in the winter when it isn’t as busy but gives me something to do. I don't know if I mentioned to you that I made my own personal playlist of all of your videos in the order that they were made ❤️ This one is definitely being added! I enjoy all of you so much. You bring me joy and happiness. As you were talking I started wondering if, for Becky, it would be so wonderful to be able to add a greenhouse to the side of the house for her winter gardening. You know, like one of those glass greenhouses. That would help so much with her depression. Becky, I enjoy your blog so much. You two would think I'm nuts on how much time I spend reading about you and your homestead. I follow the blog, UA-cam (obviously) and your IG account 😁 I am very disabled so the comfort of being able to be absorbed into the world of homesteading brings me so much joy. Thank you both so much 🤗

Loved the video! Loved the q and A. I’ve been wondering for awhile about if Cam had a job or just worked on the homestead. Way to live your dreams! I love it. You definitely inspire me to start a garden…. Maybe….

I’m like you I always struggle in winter. Especially working full time. You leave in the dark and get home in the dark. It can become very overwhelming.
I also find that after having a wet winter 🥶 last year and now coming into autumn and it basically being wet the entire time this winter is going to be really hard xx I try to sew and crochet bright things to brighten up the house.

Hello from Canada!! Thank you so much for this video! Was looking forward on the week end to see your video but this morning was even happier to see you had posted a video this morning! It made my day!!! I love to see your devotion to each other and your family!! When you were in front of library I thought I saw some scriptures ! When you mentioned that you were a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Laterday Saints it just made me feel a little closer to you guys!! Because I also am active member along with my family!!!I love your channel and whatever content you guys bring! It’s really wholesome! I would love to have a book video! It’s always nice to have new books to learn new skills. God bless!!
