      Yes. Actually killing it, this is a mythological story, in which the God Susanoo No Mikoto kills the snake in a heroic act.

      Orachu was a eight headed snake (dragon) a parallel meaning is that in Shinto snakes are kinda a warning that the Kami are offended and so it's also killing the offense etc

      Orochi was much more than a snake: he was a selfish and cruel eight-headed dragon.
      Susanoo defeated him with difficulty.
      If I remember correctly, they had to get him drunk by making him drink the saké sacred to the gods because its size was impressive: as long as seven valleys.
      Once intoxicated, Susanoo managed to behead him.
