気仙沼市内３地点における同時刻津波映像 東日本大震災

- 気仙沼市にて撮影された複数の津波映像を、防災無線の音声をキーに同時刻になるよう繋げてみました。防災無線が【事前録音ではなく】、【放送システムにタイムラグが存在しない】と仮定した場合、それぞれの映像の時間差は+-1秒以内です。浸水被害の分析や、今後の防災計画に役立てていただければ幸いです。
撮影地点についてはそれぞれの動画に寄せられたコメントや、映っている建物より判断しました。
亡くなられた方々のご冥福をお祈りするとともに、避難生活を続けられている方々の日常の回復と、被災地の復興を心より祈ります。
また、今回動画を引用させていただいた撮影者の皆様に謝意を表します。

撮影された場所が示され、各地点の防波堤・防潮堤を越えた時間が分かり易いです。編集された時間が10分05秒。中年男性が2㎞走れるかどうか。年配の方では1㎞程度。
津波が到達してから避難しては遅いという事が分かる映像だと思います。
潮位の変動が20㎝だとか50㎝だとかで安心せず、直ぐに避難しなければならないのですね。
津波は恐ろしい。
@ningyotoge コメントありがとうございます。私も編集中に「位置関係から見て、下の映像(3.4)が湾の奥で撮影された映像2より遅くなるはずがない」と何度も思いました。しかし、防災無線の音声をご指摘のとおり2分程度前のタイミングに合わせようとすると、音声のトーンや発声のタイミングなどが若干異なっており、どうしても合わせられなかったのです。私は8月に気仙沼へ行って撮影地点を見てきたのですが、下の映像(3.4)については、周囲の地形や津波の方向などから考えて画面右方向から海水が流入するべきだと感じました。しかし実際は画面奥から流入しており、この点でも謎が残されています。残念ながら私自身は専門家ではありませんので、今後の検証を待ちたいと思います。

とにかく、備えるしかないです。
被災した方々には申し訳ないが、映像として残っているおかげで、自分たちの身に置き換えて考えることができる。
この数本の映像を同時間で編集したのは、アイデアもいいし完成させたのもすばらしい。時間差がこんなにあるのは知らなかったから、たとえば港湾からの防災ライブなんかで地域に放送できるようになれば住民をたくさん救う事が出来る世の中が来るだろう。

とっても良い編集ですね。撮影ポイントが地図で示されていたのが特によかったです。昔、河北新報の近く、南が丘に住んでいたので丘に登る細道が懐かしかったです。
Excellent! I've been trying to find the perspectives of several videos....Thanks for putting them together...it helps me understand more about it. I too would like to see more of these videos linked.
Whats amazing is how FAST it is. At the intersection it is less than 8 seconds from dry pavement to a mass of roiling churning waves 6-8 feet deep. Within 3 minutes the entire street is 4' deep in madly rushing water. 4 minutes later it is 8' deep. No chance to escape. What a terrifying way to die. Even 9 years later it brings chills and tears.
Very impressive work helping us get these different perspectives. Thank you for helping us understand better this terrible tragedy.

This is fascinating to see the progression of the largest surge as it travels increasingly farther up this bay, minute by minute. It seems to just never end! It keeps coming, deeper and stronger.
I'd already seen the videos from cameras 1, 2, and 4, but #3 was new to me. It was very interesting to see the cameraman who shot video #4 while he was actually doing it.

Truly fantastic editing. I'd like to see more of these. Cameras 3 and 4 were easy to synch but there's no easy way to synch 1 & 2. Thanks for the maps at the biginning, it really helps putting out these devastating videos in perspective.

私は福島生まれですが、11年前は、怖かったです凹
これまで津波の動画を100時間以上見たと思うが、これの1の映像が、撮影者が感じた恐怖としては、生還した撮影者中最大だと思う。圧倒的な水量、ぐんぐん上がってくる水位、既に逃げ場は無い状況、、、、、途中からは、水位の上昇が止まってくれることを祈る以外ない。ビルじゃなくて、可能な限り高台(大地)に逃げるべきだと再認識した。似た状況で水位が屋上まで来てしまったのが、南三陸町町役場屋上の鉄塔によじ登って撮影された写真だ。それを遠くから撮影した連続写真では、大勢が屋上に避難している状況から、波が引いた後に数人だけが残されている状況が写っている、、、、、すべての犠牲者のご冥福をお祈りいたします。

That is un-frigging-believable. I spent a year in Japan and loved every second of it. Breaks my heart to see such devastation. Something else happened out in that ocean. An underwater landslide maybe? Those waves in the Iwate Prefecture were frigging enormous. Off the scale. God bless them. RIP.

Subsequently, the Hotel Boyokan received an award for its efforts to shelter victims at the time of the disaster. Sady, the hotel closed in 2018 due to declining sales and the aged condition of the facility.
Its crazy just how much water that earth quake displaced! its just keeps coming and coming! just doesn't seem real, does it? Prayers to all those who died that day, and to all those who are still suffering from this terrible event.

You did an excellent job synchronising the camera 3 and 4 thank you for sharing these views and hopefully other people will learn how powerful these waves are and will respect them. It is important for areas which do not have histories of tsunamis like West coast USA see these videos and get to high ground without delay.

It saddens me so that so many were strolling along the piers, oblivious of what was coming
now i can figure out the the exact place another 45 min foutage video looking at the place close to camera 2 spot port and also looking back to the city... i even figure out how the tsunami went into the kesenuma river opposite its natural flow and destroyed everything from the other 25 min. video of the nursery school more than 2 km away from the port, the fire finally burned eveything near the port any adjacent buildings close to debris and wreckage of fishing boats filled with petrol and gaz from the stations and gaz pumps destroyed... (snow to feel the freezing point) ... in other words hell in Kesenuma ..god bless the victims my condolences for the 20000 to 30000 missing or dead in this tragedy. The quake was a piece of cake in japan terms as top construction tecniques supported everything untouched miracously. The tsunami however made the complete difference. Surely if this happens to US, or Athens Greece where i live the victims will be in the hundreds of thousands only from the quake...not the tsunami...even a minor tremor of 5.5 R shivers me up. Tsunamis did happen in the mediterranean area and will happen again. For US is a matter of time if the Cascade fault or San Adreas fault will break for a massive quake and tsunami in the future. If this is the case RUN your ass to high land if you are lucky enough to survive a 9.0 M ...
On Camera 2 you see people walking calm as if they go to a supermarket,., i would have took a spurt to my car drive away from whet was coming, Japanese are totally ignored the warnings to go to higher grounds.
Greg Fan I see you left your comment several years ago, but a correction is still in order. All of the earthquake-prone regions of the US (mostly the states on the Pacific Coast, plus Alaska and Hawaii) have strict structural codes that are very different from and superior to prevailing codes in Greece, which are probably more like prevailing codes in Turkey. The 1989 San Francisco Earthquake was a 7.1, and killed about 60, with the collapse of few buildings. A major bridge and a freeway collapsed, due to unforeseen structural issues, none having anything to do with building codes. By contrast, a 1999 Turkey earthquake, a 7.6, killed 17,000.
@@moodyfan4ever The people in Camera 2's video are calm because they have all already evacuated to a known safe location. They don't need to run or drive away; they're already where they need to be. The tsunami will not reach them. The great majority of people in the threatened areas did, in fact, evacuate when they heard the tsunami warnings, which were issued even before the earthquake had stopped.
Life for anyone caught at low level, whether on the road, driving or in a building was literally measured in seconds!
There can be no defence against such overwhelming forces of nature!
The sounds of entire buildings being ripped from their foundations and shattered into splintered debris is horrifying!
Within 10 minuted, virtually the entire community was wiped from the map, leaving thousands dead and missing (having been carried out to sea on the receding waters).

これだけの映像が残っているのですから、何十年か先、「ここまでは津波が来ないだろう」なんて思わないで、無駄でもいいから子供を逃がしてください。子供は、津波の悲惨さ、原発の恐ろしさも知らないのですから、大人が守らなければいけません。
There's another video that could be a part of this. It was shot from the building that's across the parking lot from the location of camera #1. That video was shot from the other side of the other building, looking onto the warehouse with the red roof.

I also just saw, for the first time in 2020, another video of the same intersection shown by Cameras 3 and 4. This was taken from the roof of the bank building on the right.

下のカメラの位置は湾奥に押し寄せた津波の跳ね返りではないかと思います。
後ろから来ている筈の津波が前から押し寄せたという証言はあちこちのテレビに出てました。気仙沼かどうかは覚えていないのですが。
動画とってる人も不安だっただろう
私はこの映像があっていると思います。確かに2の映像の方が奥ですが、位置的に湾外からまっすぐになります。水の流れからして、最初にまっすぐ津波が進んでもおかしくないです。実際の浸水高ですが、2の地域は２階天井まで浸水し、3の地域は２階のデスク上ぐらいです。3、4の地域は津波が湾内で狭くなり横にそれた分なので、到達時間も津波の量も少なかったのではないのかなと思います。

Im curious.. how did the store look the store which displayed the green gown after the water receded.. 😥 n the owner seeing it at that time frm the hill. Duh..
Hopefully they stay safe n stay strong to started the store again.. n today their store running as well.

同じ時刻の1の撮影者の不安定そうな足元を考えると・・
彼の感じた恐怖たるや、想像もつかない。
(3.4)については、周囲の地形や津波の方向などから考えて画面右方向から海水⇒50年前のチリ地震津波も同じ方向から流れて来て、小生は反対方向から津波に向かって走ってきました。画面右方向は、魚市場が防波堤となり、遅れるのでは？

Keith Purdue I’m not sure about camera 1, but I think camera 2 & 3 survived.
They did, they brought this incredible footage which otherwise would be impossible. It's quite insane how cam 1 was completely isolated in an 'island' and how you can see that from cam 2 location, that gives you an idea of how high the water was rising. The sound and the image of the steel bending like rubber sure it's scary.
Everyone survived. That's how these videos survived as well. The person with Camera 1 was in a multistory concrete building.

きっと魚市場にぶつかったから３４のほうが遅いんでしょうね。その証拠にカメラ位置の海側に市場があります。さらに、過去に見たフジテレビの映像で、津波が魚市場に邪魔されて進めていない映像があります。けれど、さすがに２分の差はおかしいと思います。(この時は、すでに魚市場を破壊したと思われる。なぜなら、魚市場のものと思われる魚を入れる青いカゴが流れています。さらに、衛星写真によると、魚市場に邪魔されずに進める魚市場の隣に止まっていたと思われる船が流れています。ということは、この時すでに港は津波にのまれていたことになります。）これが僕なりに考えた答えです。
While you have some good footage here I just CANNOT STAND split screens. You can't follow the progression of any one thing; as you look back and forth you lose track of what you are seeing before and it all starts to blur into confusion. I understand you want to show the juxtaposition of the towns, but this event is just too big for that to be able to work. If you ever decide to re-post this, take it apart and run each one separately.
The videos from Cameras 1, 2, and 4 have all been posted separately on UA-cam for years by now. However, they only have titles in Japanese, as I remember.
I know that it would be a nice to give a like to the person who put this together, but I have moral problems giving a like to a post that deals with such a disaster.
