Thank you! A detail that saves a lot of time: After you have installed the guest additions you can reboot the system and then go to Devices > Drag n Drop > Host to Guest. When you finish downloading the drivers you are able to drag and drop the .exe in the VM instead of going through the whole process of creating a shared folder.
just so everyone knows if yours says anything like incompatible when you go to install the driver its likely because you downloaded the wrong bit version. just download the other one and put it in your xp driver folder you made and run the driver again. if that dose not work then i don't know what will.

I was at it for over 5 hours, watched all tutorial and solution videos but wasn't getting anywhere. I even tried what it said in this video but still no internet. THIS IS WHAT WORKED FOR ME: Sure enough, install the drivers from the link in the video's description. Download a "Standalone" installer of Google Chrome and also put that in the Shared Folder with the Drivers installer. Under Network settings on VIrtualbox I used this: Attached to: NAT Advanced: Adapter type: Intel PRO/1000 MT SERVER (82545EM) Prom Mode: Deny MAC Address: [Whatever's already written] Check 'Cable Connected' Click okay and Restart the Virtual machine. Use GOOGLE CHROME to try to browse over the internet. It shows Connected on the Taskbar and I'm able to use it on Chrome but not on IE for some reason. Hope it works for you too!

EDIT: I tried doing it without it and i still don't have internet on windows xp EDIT 2: On internet browser I went to "Tools", "Internet Options" and then went to "Advanced". Then I scrolled down and checked the boxes "SSL 2.0", "SSL 3.0", "TLS 1.0" . I clicked apply, then ok and then I could kind of search things on the internet, but it was still really bad. So I installed Firefox browser and made it my default browser. And now everything works. I hope I could maybe help anyone.
If you are having the same trouble that I had that after you Follow all the instructions and the internet works you can't access any other website through Internet Explorer This is all you have to do He already set up a shared folder so go back to your original Desktop outside of virtualbox If you're using Firefox Chrome or whatever take that wizard setup for the internet and drop it in that shared folder then go back to virtualbox My computer the C drive find the shared folder and you will see the setup for that internet Setup Wizard you just put it in the folder just double click it and install it and you're good to go. Can I clone a XP OS ( from another computer ) and put it in a Virtual Box? ( I have an old XP system with all my files and the MOBO died, can I clone my old XP HDD and put it in Virtual Box? If you guys are getting the error cannot display web page, you should go download mozilla firefox browser in the virtual machine as the version of Internet Explorer you are using would be obsolete, that's why you get that error.

None of these suggestions worked for me. The answer turned out to be the browser. You need to use an old browser. I found a copy of Firefox 52.9.0 and was instantly able to browse the Internet.

it works really great - one thing to remember for those on 64 bit machines computers - you got to download the 32 bit PRO2K3XP_32 .exe - --- im on a 64 bit computer wirh the vm of xp 64 bit running - but had to use the 32 bit pro2k3xp before my computer would accept the unpacking of the zip rar - the video shows using the 32bit - being im on a 64 bit computer i tried the 64 bit zip - didnt work - i even tried to copy and paste into vm xp desktop and no luck -- so its the 32 bit zip that works - this is the best video yet ive seen - iv see alot of google youtube vids every day lol

I had the same problem and thought my version of XP was 64-bit. It was not. I downloaded the 32-bit drivers and it worked, but I still cannot get on the Internet after following his directions.
I do not think you're in the correct video because this is a VirtualBox tutorial. For VMware Workstation Player or VMware Workstation Pro, just simply drag the folder into the guest operating system. If you can't, just go to VM, Settings, then look for Shared Folders.
I have dell windowsxp 2003 it has been going to internet configuration asks for my email and password. I put in my gmail email and password it says does exists. I am on laptop. my dell pc windowsxp 2003 doesn't let me go on internet.

Sure enough, install the drivers from the link in the video's description.

Probably because Internet Explorer 6 is outdated and does not work with most modern websites.

I think your computer doesn't support Intel PRO 1000.

Worked! For some reason I had to use the 32 bit drivers when my windows XP was 64 bit.. but it worked! :D
When I try and open the drivers in Windows XP, it says 'This package is not supported on this platform or operating system.' I'm using MacOS as Host
I had the same problem and thought my version of XP was 64-bit. It was not. I downloaded the 32-bit drivers and it worked, but I still cannot get on the Internet after following his directions.

I do not think you're in the correct video because this is a VirtualBox tutorial. For VMware Workstation Player or VMware Workstation Pro, just simply drag the folder into the guest operating system. If you can't, just go to VM, Settings, then look for Shared Folders.
Just put the mode to Windows ME or Other Windows when you install XP in the Virtualbox
I have dell windowsxp 2003 it has been going to internet configuration asks for my email and password. I put in my gmail email and password it says does exists. I am on laptop. my dell pc windowsxp 2003 doesn't let me go on internet.
