Nice , I like the color combo and would be interested to hear how the purple and black zonker strip worked out . The past week I’ve been tying a bunch of different Tarpon flies and did a version of this but instead of a zonker strip I used Finn Raccoon , it swims really good and doesn’t seem to hold water as much . This fly worked great on tarpon and snook. Finn raccoon and Arctic fox zonker a would both do well on this fly. You could also cut a strip off a craft fur or pseudo hair patch and get the same result with a synthetic which will hold less water if that is a goal.
Up or down I have never known it to effect the bite from a tarpon or snook. You can tie it both way depending what looks best to you but tying fur up it is easier to find the hole for the foul guard to pass through.

Why wouldn't you turn the barred bunny strip down?
