Sucks it had to happen on Christmas, but what a ride! Great first go Grubby! I quit wow way back when it first came out because I thought it was boring. HC mode is really what this game was made for and I've enjoyed following your online adventure.
Hunter, Druid, Mage, Rogue are all the highest skill cap classes in the game. Druid is probably the best choice for Grubby after Mage. Going to be cool to see.
Remind yourself that overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer. Sadge but true. 😢 Good journey anyways and a valueable lesson learned, hopefully. 😊
Obviously panic mode but only way outta that was to face em LOS in that corner 2 packs get ready for AOE and CD's. Very hard to think about in a few seconds. Running seemed okay til you remember torch room.
i lost my lvl 45 warri three days ago in uldaman. i was about to quit, but seeing you roll another character again immediately makes we want to go again. rip grubby
7::02:20 That is a beautiful and harmonious mindset. I do think that if you play a particular role you have to be responsible and take accountability when things go wrong from eg. a bad or cocky pull, but within reason. You do still need to test your and other's limits and make mistakes from time to time, and HC is not a kind learning environment. Pulling back would have been the play here, but it may simply have been a knowledge gap that you can proximity pull the upper ledge there, I would not necessarily call that cockiness, unless he knew of that possibility and decided to ignore it. But all said and done, whether or not he decides to take accountability and improve as a tank is his own decision, I am very happy that the entire group parted on good terms, that is an ideal environment for self-improvement and redemption.
Grubby is the goat, took the loss like the champ at one point he looked like he was shaking but there was no shouting or cursing or screaming just adult emotions very nice grubby we love you dead or alive
I dunno, there have been a lot of high level deaths in OF lately, and Soda said he's only going to take 10 or so WoW sweats to the raid and the rest will be newbies.
Good example of what wow actually made great: The journey is over...character is lost, if not HC you still can stop playing in SC or delete.....but the people you played with remember you of good times (excluding the annoying ones). This feeling just is mising in retail in my eyes. It fails to unfold. Mb in the very very late game....but neanwhile it feels sole. You play alone, you die alone, you get up and keep going alone and there are no shared thoughts or feelings on this path.
when the tank pulled the guys, grubby was out of combat for a while before social aggro did him in. he could have made a portal if he reacted fast enough and has it on his mind as an escape strategy.
Hi, what keyboard and mouse are you using or would you recommend? Also, what is the minimum frame rate you would recommend for rts games? Thank you! 😊🙏🏼
Glad Grubby didn't went Shaman instead of a Feral druid, because for Horde the hardest HC classes (and also most boring autoattack to 60) are Shaman > warrior. For those 2 if something bad happens, there is no dropping combat (Vanish / Feign death), there are no blinks (only lucky charge to a critter or new mob), no immunity (Iceblock / ally Divine shield), no movement speed increases (sprint / dash), no pet and u r melee instead of range. Standing ur ground without panic while using some engi tools instead of panic is hard. Best of luck, can't wait to see his new journey as a hybrid class
That's rough man, sorry for the wipe. When it was happening, I was thinking someone needed to take charge (easier said than done, especially with newer players). As a mage I probably would have tried to LoS and AoE them down around corners/corridors and asked the others to support me. But it's tough not being in AoE spec and missing things like Permafrost and Imp Blizz. Polymorphing an elite might have helped, too.
There was no leader in that group, tank was too inexperienced. If someone like Deathrow/Gunnar leads they live, but they probably wouldn’t be in that situation anyway…
Eh using that same logic grubby inexperienced too, so taking another mage who knows not to aoe that room would've equally "saved" them. It's just a communication & knowledge gap error, plain & simple. @@notorious_elzoid
Communication issue. They could fight it, or run away. What they did instead was taking a lot of unnecessary damage from the traps. The pull was pretty bad as well, grubby mainly paying attention to the loot table etc. It happens, an unlucky chain of events with some lack of focus. They handled it like adults though, not blaming each others like kids, which is the most impressing part.
Annie did blame a bit while being completely useless in the fight. It definitely wasn't a communication issue at its core. It was a skill issue. They did not know what to do. You can't communicate your way out of a situation you don't know how to solve.
@@asoim889 I mean, on their skill level communication could save them. But I also agree - a skilled group would solve it without saying a word, a little coordinated CC with marks, done. Although, a skilled group shouldn't have such a pull in the first place. And yeah, she was useless.
Still possible to get in the raid. There have been a lot of high level OF deaths lately, and Soda said they'll only be bringing 10 or so WoW sweats. He wants most of the raid to be newbies
I think you can fight that, pretty much what you described would be ideal, the tank takes the casters and the mage kites the melee should work with little pressure on the healer. The other thing is IIRC the ledge behind your portrait at 6:57:00 is an evade spot. If everyone runs here they should reset. But we live(or die) and learn and then We Go Agane
i first saw this in annie's clip and i was just thinking about pontus and co who were with grubby then got sad that eventually he is going to be alone, then i actually saw that grubby is in the group and its almost a wipe, rough dungeon. Well now that he mentioned hindsight 20/20 i guess now he will study how to really not die in this dungeon
assuming you dont know of evade spots, you cant have an escape strategy because each scenario is different. There is no cookie cutter escape strat. What you need to do next time is listen to Annie, who noticed the pull first and said to hearth first which would have saved most if not all of you.
Run was not a bad call, not calling leave group was. They were not properly prepared for emergency at all. Nobody in that group is a HC vet, there are places in there to reset; you could pre mage portal outside of room; or you could simply leave group. They did not respect HC and they rightfully died.
@@aurawolf664 Running was completely fine, if they LoS and then kite by avoiding trap damage the best they can. Each person took maybe 1/4 of health bar worth of fire damage in that room, while bailing would have guaranteed they survive (if done correctly). The fire wasn't at all a big threat, it was uniform and slow damage that can be quantified. If they fought they'd have taken much more damage, as you saw that Grubby had to immediately IB after he was targeted by the ranged as his health was immediately gone in seconds. The run call should have been preceded by a "drop group" call and the run call should have been more specific about kiting them the best they can using LoS, intim shout, priest fear, nova and slow etc. It should not be just everyone panicking.
100% tanks fault for charging in like that and the follow up for not los. i mean after 20 years of this they ought to know these things. i quit wow in 2012 and i still know these things as a tank.

Aoe had nothing to do with it. they social pulled because they noticed you guys fighting below them. honestly, running was got you all killed because you guys frantically chose to run through 400+ dps fire traps in the previous room. this wouldve been fine if you guys ran INTO the corner where you were fighting that group, (to LOS the newly aggrod mobs) and then blowing all cooldowns (challenging shout, retaliation) followed by AOE (frost nova into flamestrike) then blinking away after challenging shout ends, and finishing the pull using the same method you had been throughout your journey while aoe leveling. grubby couldve aoe'd them all down while the warrior and rogue CC the ranged attackers and casters. hell, even arcane explosion + holy nova wouldve killed all those non-elites, while the warrior disarms one elite and rogue kidney shots the other, and nobody wouldve been in danger. shit happens. we make mistakes, learn and go again.
Aw Grubby, when I heard I was so upset. It's just one of those things that you have to learn the hard way sometimes. I'm always wary of AoEing whenever mobs are nearby, especially on upper levels. I've had a mage almost wipe us on the Red Ridge Elite quests due to Blizzard pulling mobs from the floor above through the floor. It's also why I refuse to rush to clear dungeons, opting instead to clear mobs that don't really need to be killed in order to progress. Its just the one, single, mistake that is the most costly. A mob runs in fear and pulls another pack before you can kill it - or someone steps just a little too far over. Slow and methodical on hardcore, always.
game is not meant to be played on hardcore, you should really let it go and play in a normal server, im really worry about you and im not even playing the game haha
Man chat really baited him into playing druid in classic. That means he is probably gonna heal in raid (which is lame as first timer) or farming MCPs in gnomeregan in order to make feral work. Chat really is braindead, calling warrior and rogue, the most engaging classes with/after mage boring. Then there really are chatters who think auto attack hunter is fun
so is running through multiple 400+ dps fire traps, even though the room they were running to is full of more mobs. they died to 2 elites and a bunch of weak low damage non elites. definitely deserved.
Imo just a miscommunication. Tank was the only one who seemed to know not to aoe. @asoim889 listen to the group chat after. I don't think the tank pulled. It also might've been body pull proximity that got the extra mobs too & not aoe that actually killed them. Regardless it doesn't matter. They going again
Mobs were full HP when pulled, it was the tank who body pulled. Not respecting the pull and then not having the presence of mind to bail out properly by leaving group was why they wiped. With the way they have been doing dungeons they were going to wipe sooner or later.
They took so much damage from the flames. And they used alot of mana just healing that up. If they stood their ground and use Grubby aoe and warrior retaliation and shield wall they could probably clear the pack. They could also use 2 warriors fears and priest fear to last longer and heal up without risking pulling more.
One minute you're 4 piece pre- BiS almost 60 and the next you're casting level 1 wrath and staff autoing mountain cougars. Sheesh what a ride.
