That's what artists do nowadays lol. Rarely do you see songs 4, 5 or 6 minutes anymore like in the 90s or early 2000s...is it laziness from artists? Idk if it is I'm just asking the reason why so many songs of this era are under 3 minutes...they seem to do 2 verses more now a days instead of 3 or 4

We're one song would have 30 different tracks on it. You need to remember how many synthesize sounds there are and then collaborating all the levels is a process that takes an insane amount of work and effort. It is far from laziness I assure you. In order to put this 2-minute song out I guarantee you he worked hundreds of hours on just mixing it. Not to mention the months it took to write lyrics, making a time signature, tempo, melody ect. You need to keep in mind that today's song are far more complex than songs of previous generations. Also. Keep in mind that these are still people. They have lives. Kids, family, 9 to 5 jobs, if they're not spending month on end in a tour bus. It's easy to forget about the human aspect of a music artist. And lastly. It's incredibly frustrating and downright unfair. But the artist is always the last one who gets paid for the music THEY wrote. And by that time you have 10p different entities that have stuck their hands in the pot leaving mere scraps in comparison. It's criminal! I hope this gave you a bit of prospective on the matter. I challenge you to do this. I want you to write and produce a song. You don't even have to be the one playing the instruments or doing the vox. One of three things will happen. 1. You'll see exactly how difficult it truly is to produce a piece of music and quit doing it. 2. You'll cop out and say "I don't write music." No musician came out of the womb with belching voices like that or were born being a shredder on their instruments of choice. It took years and years of work and dedication. So if you say something like "I don't have time to learn something like that." Then you know how hard it is for the artist to do what they do and will have your answer to your question of "Why don't they have longer songs and have more of them?" Not to mention them shooting an official music video for the song. Or lastly, 3. You except the challenge and write and produce a dope song and it blows up like this one did... What's your answer? Or you can just ignore this comment and give everyone their answer by your silence.

Oh my 🥰😍 I’ve been waiting for a video I’m able to comment on. A very dear friend of mine showed you to me about a year ago. My mother died in March of this year, 2022. We love music more than anything and that was definitely how we bonded. We went to so many concerts together and that’s where I truly live. Everything is perfect, a pure dream. After her death, I found no joy in music anymore. I didn’t care if it was playing or wasn’t, it meant nothing. She passed, time passed, and I was feeling guilty for losing touch with the only thing that had ever brought me peace (music). Eventually, I heard one of your songs again and it all came flooding back. I didn’t care if I already heard icee pop 29 times that day. I played it again and I didn’t care if it bothered anyone. I was finally smiling, singing, dancing to music again. I was so scared it would never feel the same again. You restored my entire relationship with music and in turn much of my relationship with my mother. I was so afraid I would never feel alive again.
