There's something special about Mudokon bits flying all over the screen after a beautifully executed bomb maneuver. So many clever tactics utilised, all within the confines the devs set for you. This is why I love NMG the most. And wow! Thanks to you, I learn of the shortcut at the start of the last level! I played Oddysee years after growing up with Exoddus, and I remember struggling a lot until finally beating that level, never considering Abe could jump across there.
@@AndyCandyZeroSugar NMG is closer to how we played it casually and appeals to more people for sure. I do glitched runs too, but I know some people preference is not to break the game completely. The mudokons bits (and slig/slog bits!) are a cool touch! There were lots of parts of the game when I was learning the speedrun that made me laugh about how I played the game casually as a kid haha!
Thanks! The reason for the save game and reset (good question) is due to it being a bad PC port and the game is prone to crashing if you don't reset it. Would be lovely if I didn't have to!
Out of curiosity wouldn't it have been faster to just skip the first 28 mudokons and just go straight to the Stockyards to have them all executed instantly?
@@SerraPontosSoc It's a good point though, I'd rather people asked questions like yours - it used to be that first 28 were killed automatically, so you might see some older runs by myself and others pre rule change that just leave them out. I do like the strats involved at the start though!
no way, algorithm actually doing some good for a change, this was my favourite game as a kid. awesome channel. Keep it up! Gz on the run
@@user-qs6cz6zg9f Thanks mate! Very kind of you to say!

@@SerraPontosSoc It would be, but the rules for the speedrun state they must be killed manually!
@@l1ndblum Ok thanks for the clarification. Great video btw.
