Stanley Whitney's investigation of color is primordial. In the work, color and structure, two fundamental aspects of abstract painting, become color as structure. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and received his BFA from Kansas City Art Institute and his MFA from Yale University. Stanley Whitney currently lives and works in New York City and Parma, Italy. He has shown numerously in the United States and in Europe.
