Been watching you the last 6 hrs. There's never a problem hold attention from a veteran woodworker/carpenter. I appreciate your content, craftsmanship, and journey through life, which we are bound to until our last breath. Great job in All of it!!! I was watching this video, and your veneering of the "tower". I thought this would be an appropriate time to Introduce your platform to an old nautical technique called "tick sticking" it's a beautiful, almost poetic way of measuring any inset without a tape measure. Just 2 pieces of wood which can be random. That's all one needs to measure to a scary precise piece of wood "housed" in any position. If you're not familiar with this technique, I wood highly advise you to look it up, and practice it. It will only add to your deep knowledge of the trade!!! Thank you for bringing us into your journey through life! It's a privilege and honor to watch! 66carpenter
Absolutely beautiful! The further along you got the more stressed I felt so I can’t imagine your relief when those cabinets were finished. Truly a master craftsmen!
Coffee machine near the toilet - *chef's kiss* Great work, dude. Your level of accuracy and detail is great - I didn't notice you making many relative measurements at all.
Thanks, it was the customers idea for the coffee maker. I reference a 3d model for measurements, but I don't share many measurements in the video because it tends to complicate things. If enough people ask, I will start producing plans for sale
@@FortressFineWoodworks I'm sure you'll get there on plan sales! My measurement comment's context was to the idea that cabinetry needs to hit measurements, while a lot of other woodworking can be all relative. Probably why I kinda suck at cabinetry.
Just when I thought it couldnt get any better you added the pull out for the coffee maker. So thoughtful! Then the stop blocks on the bottom of the toe kick was genius. Having kids and a bunny, I could see all kinds of things getting under and behind the cabinets. Heck yea I subscribed.
Amazing transformation! Just love the detail you included in this upgrade, very tastefully done! I would love to be able to build like this, Simply Beautiful! Thank you for posting.
Just finished binge watching all your videos, beautiful work and certainly enjoy your presentations. I have a feeling your channel will grow quickly. I'm looking forward to watching more of your skillful work. 👍
So is this ur home ur working on bro or is it a job u got commissioned to do bcos u said something about not being able to afford to make any mistakes on this work?? U are immense my G.. This is so beautiful a piece of work. I;ve only just begun my woodworking but I hope to reach this zenith of workmanship one day in the next 4-5 years.. Absolutely stunning work man,,
Nice work. It will be interesting to see how your skills grow as you learn. On a custom inset job I would have built that as 3 cabinets. When they get over 8' remember to make sure they can make any turns. If you continue as a one man shop your goal should be looking for 1,500-2,000 sq ft space.
The tower had to be one cabinet because the doors are inset, the frames are exposed, a full length frame is much more high end. That's the difference between a custom builder and a cabinet shop. Hoping to build my shop bigger soon, thanks for the tips.
I'm really impressed with your woodworking skills and video production quality. I'm thinking you're the only UA-camr that I've seen, who puts such thought into the final reveal, even the music is special. Speaking of music that last piece is phenomenal. would you mind sharing name of song and artist?
I truly thank you for such great compliments. A lot of my skill was once learned from UA-cam and I'd like to say I'm giving back now :) The song for the final reveal is called "d.st piano dramatic cinematic mp3" from audiojungle It's royalty free music
thanks for such a prompt reply! Im a big music collector and just purchased that song on audio jungle, so thanks again. I'm not sure how long you've had your channel but, I'm looking forward to watching all your videos. I bought an old 1901 built farm home , 3 stories that needs a lot of work in all areas. this is my second video of yours and you've helped inspire me to get moving and do most of the work myself.
What a transformation! Beautifully thought out cabinet! This video was edited nicely as well! Great job, One question, what sheen did you use with that conversion varnish? I'm about to make a walnut table myself and would love to get those kind of results!
Thank you. This sheen is around 25 (dull rubbed). I have a conversion varnish shootout video if you want to watch it. Please be aware, this varnish has a thickness limit or it will crack
As far as the miter on the base, left side, what if you cut the top at 90° so the left side piece, grainwise, butted straight into the left side piece? Not sure that even made sense. It would add to the stress and thought process, but it would almost look like the entire base was carved out of the same piece! Great job on the book matching of the base, regardless of what I suggested! 66carpenter
Thank you, I very much appreciate your time, check out my newest video too if you haven't already. My sprayer setup is an earlex sprayport turbine, with an apollo A7700-gt-600 spray gun. I recommend the gun for any turbine system
Very nice, that toe kick looks great. Why do your frames overhang instead of flushing them so the cabinets can mate together? Just wondering cause I've never seen that before..
Sorry what I meant was your frames are wider then the boxes and when you screwed them together there are spaces between the boxes, what is the purpose of doing it this way?
Great question. It offers room for me to move the backside of the box side to side to make sure it is square with the front. So drawers always work correctly. This also ensures the frames are always tight and don't get disrupted by the boxes pushing against eachother
Bro I gotta get me one of those TOILET MUGS.. Where did u get it?? It's a belter.. I was coughing so much after LingMAO when I saw u drinking from it.. LOL. Nice one.. BTW this is a stunning piece of work man. Salute to u SIR!!!
Thanks a ton! Most of my projects are for customers of my company. This project was a high budget project and if I had problems with the finish, it would truly suck. You can surely be as good as me in 5 years, use your resources and gain experience. The coffee mug is a present and most likely an online buy haha
Looks amazing! Do you have any plans available for purchase? I am in the planning stage of master bath remodel and I think these cabinets would be perfect for our space.
I appreciate you asking, thank you. Right now I don't have plans until my channel gains more momentum and views. If you have any specific questions you can email me. Fortressfinewoodworks@gmail.com Thanks for watching!
Talk about quality, wow! You're not a carpenter - you're an artist. And the music is so soothing & therapeutic. Looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you, truly. I appreciate you watching. Waiting for your videos...

Thank you so much! That's very kind. I use that 2 stick idea once in a while these days. I appreciate your comment!
I find it so cool to see, after watching your newer videos in the big shop, where you came from. What a blessing.
Yep! Thank you. Everything started in a small garage.
So beautifully done! 💪💪💪
I appreciate it.
Man, you’re good. I mean, amazingly good. My goodness!!!
I very much appreciate it. I learned using UA-cam. So long story short, keep learning and keep watching!

Very true, cabinets have to fit in locations. Just another variable

Well executed video! What type and HP router you running for the bigger bits?
Im using the standard porter cable router that everyone uses in their router lifts. Thank you for watching!
Have to ask, where did you find the counter top / sink that you installed! I like the clean lines. Thank you!
This is a quartz countertop installed by our granite guy. The sinks are always found somewhere online

12:19 or a veneer saw. :)
That would surely help
Very nice, that toe kick looks great. Why do your frames overhang instead of flushing them so the cabinets can mate together? Just wondering cause I've never seen that before..
Thank you! Some cabinets like the tower are built deeper to create depth, and serve as a place for the overhanging countertop to die into.
Sorry what I meant was your frames are wider then the boxes and when you screwed them together there are spaces between the boxes, what is the purpose of doing it this way?

What’s the benefit of silicone as a glue vs standard wood glue?
Silicone will adhere to non porous surfaces (almost any surface actually) while would glue is really only good for wood to wood contact
You guys have coffee machine inside the bathroom?😮
