It sure seems to be that way. I put enough fuel in it that the light should be off, but it’s not. I’ll have to decide if it bothers me enough to open the tank and check the sending unit.
Should have put the bike on the centre stand and retracted the side stand. The side stand switch might not be faulty. Not seen all your vids on this bike, have you checked all fuses before assuming components are faulty.
Good point about the side stand switch, although it should allow the bike to be started with the side stand down regardless, so disconnecting it would be necessary either way for me. As for the fuses, there is no fuse that would affect the function as tested since all the lights and other components turned on and then subsequently dimmed when pressing the starter switch. This indicates a power draw which wouldn’t be present if a fuse created an open circuit.
That’s something I didn’t know, although it’s something I would have disabled either way if that is the case. I am in the habit of starting my bike and letting it idle for a minute or two while I gear up to get the fluids flowing and warm. Seems like a strange feature, most other bikes I’ve had only take the side stand switch into consideration if the bike is in gear. There are definitely some quirks with these bikes I will have to become more familiar with. Thanks for the info!
@@Vanrides. I'm not sure if that's true, the one I had (2011) would start with the side stand down but would shut off the moment I put it in 1st gear; mine obviously was an Indian model though
@@fuelarjun Just checked mine this morning, it will not start or run with the side stand down. Mine is one of the last non ABS models which I bought new in Sept 2017 in the UK. Royal Enfield have either over the years modified/altered the wiring harness or use different wiring for different markets. My bike apart from a faulty wire connection at 30 miles and a flat battery when I did not use it for 6 months has been faultless in 13000 miles, it's a keeper. Safe riding, cheers from France.
Surprised the 2010 doesn't have a kick-start. My 2019 B5 has one. It should start with the side stand down, just not in gear.
My bike (2016 model) will not run with the kick stand down, whether in gear or not.
My 2010 C5 had a fuel light that always stayed on full or empty. Is your bike doing the same?

@@TheGoarReport I removed and cleaned the fuel sensor. That worked for me. I probably should of just replaced it

@@TheGoarReport Royal Enfield C5 bullets will not start or run with the side stand down, unless they use a different wiring harness for the states.
