• NBA ON NBC - Lakers vs...
Here is the introduction to the Los Angeles vs Indiana Pacers game from the NBA Finals on NBC.
Shaq O'neal Kobe Bryant Reggie Miller Houston Rockets winning streak 2000 Game Phoenix Suns
still get goosebubs hearing the NBA ON NBC theme, missing my high school days
Best theme music ever
This story telling is so important to the game, the NBA should consider developing the story lines of games especially during the playoffs. People sometimes forget the gravity a series have for a players/teams career. I miss seeing these intros
Absolutely! It bugs me that the nba/espn doesn’t try to bring back this element like they use to. They got hella lazy and don’t even have finals intros anymore. The game needs it and will only enhance the sport.
Bob costas is so great. Such a pro
Am I the only one that got emotional watching this?? I miss NBA On NBC!
Nope lol
you are not, because I am crying
Nope sir
Me too 😢
Is coming back.
I remember never missing this intro on NBC. That flyover over the arena always gave me goosebumps.
wow this brings back so many memories. being a kid in LA and watching my dominant Lakers play in the early 2000s. ESPN and abc are trash compared to this. today's kids definitely missed out
nah, they arent trash
Stevie yes they are
RIP Kobe
Legend!
RIP Kobe, I watched this video before and after the horrible death of Kobe Bryant 🏀
no one can ever replicate what NBC did. I've been waiting for years. Miss it so much.
Hi, I am 14 years late, but NBA could return to NBC next year in 2025. NBC is determined to have NBA back.
Now people are saying that about TNT 😁
Hopefully someday the NBA on NBC can return
Anything but ABC. I can't stand Mike Breen or anything about the ESPN/ABC broadcasts
NBA on NBC is back 2024-2025! 🏀
NBC beats out TNT.
@@stage51managerIt's actually 2025-26 season
My Pacers were a longshot in this series...just running into a buzzsaw with Shaq and Kobe. But they took it to six games, which was impressive. They almost won Game 4; it was a nail biter. What might have been!
danieladougan That might be the most heartbreaking loss in Pacers history
Matt Motter Game 6 of the 1994 Eastern Conference Finals was pretty painful too. The Pacers had the Knicks on the ropes after Reggie Miller's electric performance in Game 5 at New York (the choke signal game) but failed to close the deal at home.
danieldougan It only went to 6 games because Jalen Rose purposely walked under Kobe and caused Kobe to sit out for game 5
lakers fans make all the excuses they possibly can lol
@@default8587 that’s the game that defined kobe he had arrived
I'm a die hard Lakers fan but seeing how Reggie worked so hard over the past 18 seasons he deserves championships and rings
I agree
He was the MVP that year, of course he's gonna get the most attention in the intro.
They need the NBA back on NBC
You got your desire!
As a Pacers fan, this was as good as it got for us. This was the Pacers' only appearance in the NBA Finals, and we lost that series in six games. I remember it like it was yesterday. For Game 2, which was at Staples Center in Los Angeles, thousands of Pacers fans (including me) watched the game on the screens in the then-brand new Conseco Fieldhouse and pretended we were in L.A. It was a huge party to watch an away game.
The Pacers are now a shell of what they were back then.
Man I wanted the Pacers to win that series. Not just because I’m a Blazers fan and I wanted the Lakers to get theirs, but because I liked the underdogs and Reggie Miller.
I actually felt the exact opposite from you lol. I wanted the lakers to hand it to the pacers which they did because they beat the Knicks in the previous round lol
i totally miss the nba on nbc...thats what i grew up with and thats when i fell in love with basketball. these intros always gave me chills
I am HUGE Lakers Fan but I respect Reggie Miller so much.
I loved everything about nba on NBC
NBC rocks I miss watching the NBA on NBC, those intros used to pump me up
I remember watching the USA/Spain Gold Medal Game and hearing the intro music again. It's still alive!!!
I was waiting on the game to start😅 was able to watch this live though lakers 4 life 💛 💜 💪🏾
word NBA on NBC was great!
My Pacers had no chance against The Diesel 😫
I LOVED this song!
yeah just hearing that sends chills down my spine
That is why Kobe was great he played when the era was amazing
you are so right about that. i can remember watching on nbc and i got so motivated, now its like yea whatever.
Damn I get chills just watching that.
omg this gave me chills
EPIC!!! i remember when they played the theme song in the nba finals i was so pumped and nervous at the same time ready to see my lakers win the championship
Booo
Here because the NBA on NBC is coming back next year. As long as it has the Bob Costas intros, I’ll enjoy it as much as I’ve enjoyed Inside The NBA w/Ernie, Charles, Kenny & Shaq. Just hope the starchiness of the company that is NBC allows freedom of Kenny & Shaq coming along because the Inside The NBA Magic was all Charles Barkley entertainment. Ernie’s command of the show could be matched, or even outmatched by Bob Costas who has shown glimmers of it by leading the old starchy NFL pregame and postgame shows.
i bet you chills all the time
i rember that game been so long i was just a kid good times
The NBA on NBC was amazing they need to at least get one night of the week and do it again!! Not to mention the song is also goated.
@EvetsYork very true, very very very true the playoffs/finals would even be more exciting this year if they were on NBC
ya, BRING BACK THE NBA ON NBC
No question, if Michael Jordan didn't return to the NBA from 1995 to 1998...the 1998 Indiana Pacers would be the only championship team in franchise history....so the game 7 loss in 1998 really hurt. We had the lead...until Michael Jordan showed up. UGH!!
@HashOwns Yeah, it was awesome. I used to love the NBC triple headers on Sunday afternoons in April and May.
god damn, nbc made the nba so much fun back then. they really knew what they were doing. now it's not the same, after 2003 when it went to abc.
The Kevin hart commercial bought me here 😂
bring back NBA on NBC
BRING NBC BACK AND BASKETBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Everytime I use to hear that NBA on NBC theme music I use to get excited to watch the game. ABC is wack as fuck.
it's true, I was born and raised in Indiana, everyone grew up with a ball and a hoop. Not very many people are lucky enough to experience high school basketball in Indiana. It's a different atmosphere than ANY other state.
The Lakers overall had a tough postseason in 2000. They swept almost the exact same Portland and Sacramento teams the following year, therefore I know exactly what I'm talking about.
I miss those NBA on NBC days
damn just listen to the song wanna make me cry i remember when i never use to go to church to watch some real basketball.
The NBA on NBC was the disco era of basketball. A sad renaissance that thankfully died a peaceful death.
"They were carried to this point by sharpshooter Reggie Miller..." Ahhh so awesome.
NBA on NBC is back 2024-2025!🏀
NBC beats out TNT.
@hellojulie-thats true...took me 10 minutes just to drive thru pasadena ALONE. everything is 35 minutes away from downtown LA (staples center).
Damn I miss these intros
Awesome video! LAKERS!!!!!
@MDmiller31 But they still took it to the Lakers more than other teams did. I was surprised they won 2 games in the series.
i sure miss this song!! haha
GO LAKERS!!!
them were tha days when nbc showed basketball
even though im a lakers fan...it is sad to see reggie miller without a ring...you have jordan to blame for that
damn... i think that alley-oop from kobe to shaq sealed the deal for the lakers' 5 titles this decade...
@Kenny1984 they need to bring nba on nbc back with the same theme music!!!!
Apperently that contract will expire in 2016, but the NBA ain't the same on ABC i agree wit u.
Reggie Miller deserves a ring.
yeah when it was on nbc, they made every game seem like it was game 7.
@sweeney2321 i totally agree with you. nobody can do it like NBC!
I miss the NBA on NBC intro
@SSrepskb24 REALLY!? I'd do anyhting to hear this on live T.V.! is there a video of it on youtube?
they should reconsider putting this song back on NBA intros
My childhood.
@vladradforpres5 it's also North Carolina, and don't forget NYC
I loved how NBC broke this song out for the Olympics. David Stern has outlived his usefulness. He can no longer make sound decisions and needs to retire.
i remember when rose and reggie both dropped 40 in this series, I think it was game 3 or 4? Either way shit was crazy.
NBA ON NBC lol good days
@rsb3118
Hey, we are in the playoffs now. That's a start.
NBA on NBC was the best,
back when players played there asses off and refs didn't F up the game!
i don't think anyone like abc's broadcast of the nba...bob does the best intro's..i even find myself watching some events during the Olympics that i dont care about simply because bob makes it sound interesting
@rsb3118 As a fan of Reggie Miller growing up, and a former diehard Sonics fan, I hope the Pacers don't leave Indiana. I've been hearing rumors on the internets about them maybe moving. Kind of reminds me of the beginning of the end for the SuperSonics.
Are you serious? The Lakers were on the verge of blowing a 3-1 lead against Portland in the WCF.
@alhex123 That season was a NBA shorten season due to a lockout... a 50 game season!!
1999 was a shortened season not this one
I always thought the nba on nbc theme was the actual nba theme
Hopefully NBC goes after the NBA rights in 2016
@uclanc I know!!! What i'm sayin the lockout was in 98-99!!! & that season was a 50 game season!!!
I agree. NBA on NBC had better theme music.
@UBlazers45 I hate it when people say someone in sports "deserves" a title. You don't get championships because you deserve them, you get them because you earned them, because you were better than the other guy when all the money was on the table. And I'm not hating on Reggie; I liked him. But he didn't "deserve" anything more than what he got.
please get the rights to that song abc
Chills....
Kobe Bryant... With an afro... What a throwback...
i love the lakers im a big fan but i always wanted to see reggie win a title.
Indiana 2021 NBA champs most likely
It was most likely going to happen except it looks like it wont
kobefro
It's such a shame that the Blazers lost game 7 with that 4th quarter lead. What a shame...
beastmode623: that's exactly right. I would have loved to see Jordan get 8 rings like he should have. 1991-1998
thay just HAD to kill his dad damnit :''(
going to the parade tomorrow?
@jayblac So how did that turn out for you guys?
one word. pierce.
@tbone24100 no it wasnt. That was the 1998-99 season and the San Antonio Spurs beat the NY Knicks to become the NBA Champions.
haha honestly i have been waiting for a ring for 15 years, so now there isnt much anticipation, but instead that it just wont happen. But one day
yea, those intros always got me pumped up for the game. the NBA on ABC is lame.
yep
That ball should have burst BEFORE Shaq had a chance to step on it
you'll get there man :) sorry for andy reid for leaving the eagles.
@Cole Bum neither made it to super bowl mah man
@raptorleaf yeah so should monday night football that shopuld go back to abc and sunday night football should go back to espn
