Thanks Aura!
Don’t ever apologize for taking more time to be a good dad, it’s the most important thing you can ever do.
Based
It is sad that Hershel has passed. May his memory and legacy be long lived.
Time to make your own powder and caps Gents. Toilet paper charcoal BP is better than Goex, velocities are typically 10% higher. I don't post much content to YT but in my videos, nothing is purchased; bullets cast, primers and powder homemade.
A kibler full stock hawken would be incredible
I make my own powder and caps now. Much better, not dependent on the companies, works great!!!!
Someone making a cap former again?
@TiglathPileser3 I'll check it out, thanks!
My prayers are with the family and friends of good kind man. I know I will meet him in the kingdom of our Lord Christ Jesus. Thank you for the information. God bless
Vista sold off their ammo segment, CCI, Remington, etc., to a Czech company.
Deal has not gone through. Several days ago, after recording this, a US representative announced he is trying to stop the sale.
Family first man! I salute you more for being a good dad! Keep it up!
I appreciate that!
Thx for the update and the cap production info.looks like summer is the time to go cap shopping. I make my caps and have as much success with those as factory caps. The one downside is the longevity of DIY caps if they are transported many times back and forth to the range.. The charge tends to fall out. I make 25 at a time and use most of those at the range. You have a new subscriber.
I purchased a couple of pounds of Goex FFG online from Powder Valley in Kansas last month. At that time they said they had plenty in stock and had no limits on the amount someone could order.
By setting up that program, it sounds as though he was ill. Great person for thinking of others before himself.
I’ve held up on a percussion rifle because of your reports on the caps.
WOW! This is a serious news dump. Gonna have to watch it several times to really take it all in. Great job, Ethan.
Hey Thanks for the shout out on the Ditchburn-Beck lock! And you managed to say my last name correctly. You are probably the only one who has ever done that the first time!!! And yes, I am still hopeful that early spring will be the time frame for locks to begin shipping. There is still work to be ironed out on the mainsprings. I'll keep everyone updated at ALR and on Instagram. Best to you all!
Happy to feature your hard work. It's going to be excitng to see it released.
I can't believe I got it right, I'm used to rolling the dice, getting it wrong and being reminded of it everyday, LOL.
All these places making new designs and rifles when we can't get caps to use them.
Thanks for the updates! I was recently able to find some rws 1075+ caps, I haven't tried them yet but hopefully they're as reliable as my now depleted supply of Remingtons had been.
They should be great.
RWS 250 tins still there.
91.00 for Blackhorn,
Yikes
Hello Ethan, thank you for all the information that you bring to us.
I would like to know more on the status of Blackhorn 209 blackpowder substitute. As well as shotshell 209 primers. In particular CCI 209M shotshell primers and Federal 209A shotshell primers.
Unfortunately Hodgdon is saying the same thing about BH209 this year, no way to increase production. I'm not sure why or how but we are stuck right now.
As far as the 209s that's tricky. I'll see what I can find out.
Great video 👍
Thanks for the updates.
Track of the wolf still carry Swiss and Schuetzen.
Good morning from Syracuse NY
Thank you Ethan for the extensive news you share! You are much appreciated sir!!
Thank you brian! Trying my best!
Ethan, about no.11 percussion caps. I make my own from pop cans using the tap-a-cap tool from .22irreloader and their priming compound. Time consuming but worth it when i was able to do it, i bought 4 bags which as a learning curve, i can make 1800 caps from each bag. I really wish that they had a musket cap maker.
Thank you for your great information, Ethan!
Which model Chambers Fowling piece did you order?
I’ve been waiting impatiently to draw an AZ spring turkey tag. This would be my first spring hunt. If I can get some experience under my belt, I’d like to graduate to a Fowler! I’ll be looking forward to watching and learning from your Fowler build!
I need some help with a traditions northwestern muzzle loader rifle. I have a dangerous gun and Traditions rifle i bought a few years ago. It will not fire if the breach plug and nipple plug is tighten down. I have to turn the nipple plug out about 3/4 of a turn to fire. I have had the gun fire when I close the brich. This gun is not safe. I can't find the receipt. I told them that was ok and I would pay to fix it but they said no. I will not buy one of their guns again.
Safety is better than your stuff blowing up in your face.
Family Always comes first ! Great work !
Love your videos! Keep ‘em coming…. Great info today
Great channel
I just won't to say l love muzzleloaders but I can't shoot anymore. I had a massive stroke last yr that left me paralyzed. I used to build/rebuild muzzleloaders. The only thing I hate is the prices. Love your vids at least I can watch.
I'm sorry to hear this Eric. I do hope this message finds you well. I'll do my best to make some more videos for you. What kinds of things do you like?
Good video. Very informative.
Good morning from Bryson City NC
This hurts what a loss to the traditional muzzle loading community and family RIP Herschel.
May God bless his family and keep the the Woodbury school going strong.
Fantastic stuff as always. Safety share, awesome. Traveling less to spend time with your family, worth it. Super stoked to see the Woodsrunner build, I'll be waiting for you to put that series out! Hopefully the Kibler Hawken happens. I will definitely have one of those.
I did see an orginial Hawken rifle and accruments that was sold from a dealer. It brought a Wild price of $25,000. Dont know who purchased.
Ethan, You are doing a bang up job. You have come a long way for sure.
No more Booping the Floop?
I love the work you are doing with Front stuffers. A lone task but a good one.
I was to meet with Hershel this spring. I just needed help aligning my barrel escutions. I got a Gemmer, and want to make a full stock one. He did make a few.
Good luck and great job.
Doc9
Converted my percussion cap rifles to use modified hilti blanks and started making my own powder. Haven’t seen a cap in store for 5 years now and don’t want scammed online
When I decided to build a rifle, over 30 years ago, I ordered his video on vhs tape. I still have the video even though I don't have a vhs player. rip
"Throttling back "... that's a good idea... and remember, take a nap.
God , Family, and everything else.
Always enjoy your videos.
You have to teach people and share knowledge in order to keep interest in muzzleloading or anything else for that matter
Thank you for keeping us informed.
Great job Ethan! Thank you for sharing all these updates, going into only my second year in muzzleloading, I feel I owe most of what I know from you and your videos... I just ordered my 2nd Kibler, a SMR in Walnut, I can't wait to start building it!! Anyhow, thank you again Ethan!
Thanks Alan, glad the videos have been helpful! Please let me know how the walnut stock turns out. I love walnut!!
Great info. Thanks so much 🤠
Cool man cool, thats my jam and jelly too
Again, thanks for all the Info.
I won't see this as having lost Mr. House. Rather, I feel as though, for all the greats in our lives, that we were privileged to be loaned these precious gifts and finally had to give them back.
You've got a good thing going here. A niche to cover a subject that the bigger gun tubers don't. Good job.
Pace yourself. Family is always first,....second, AND third.
The mantra of the flintlock shooter -
Little boys play with cap guns. Real men throw rocks.
Lol. Keep it up.
Well expressed sentiments! Thanks for your comments!❤
Thanks man! It means a lot.
Great video as usual.
Thank you
Good morning from mill hall pa thanks for the video!
