A lot of Permaculture farming advocates are using ducks to control insects on small farms as well. Plus, you get free fertilizer from the bugs they eat, eggs, and roast duck occasionally. Really a very good idea.
With all that's happening in the world now, I find this video strangely soothing. Maybe it's because I see these ducks so happy and working together to solve a problem rather than fighting with each other. These ducks are so cute, and helping their owner protect his crops.
Do ducks eat grapes? Won't they just eat the grapes in the vineyard? Or will they just waddle away. Waddle waddle. And they waddled away till the very next day.
I know for a fact that ducks are released on rice fields in Vietnam. There they would eat away pests and even weed seeds, but won't touch any of the rice seeds
I love to see how gentle his is with them, you can just tell that he really cares for them :) I would love to see more people working with nature in the way it should be.
That is VERY interesting news. I will keep this as a favorite. In cheetah breeding, it also breeds ticks and the only way to control them is with poisons ingested by the cheetahs. Some use frontline... not good. One burns the grasses in winter to kill the eggs but that safe either. I want to start a small breeding project one day and collecting all the lessons learned and then some to make it successful. I've seen cheetahs thick full of ticks and they give them veterinary style dog pills to kill them but it does nothing for the eggs. This could be a solution. Move cheetahs around and bring in a bunch of ducks for a few days or weeks. Block the fencing with tarps so the cheetahs don't go crazy or the birds.
Has to be non-toxic to cheetahs and if inhaling it is a worry, won't be used. Ducks seem good except for their potential excrement and bird flu. There seems to be no good solution to large and open, free-ranging captive animal enclosures and ticks.
Dolph C. Volker - diatomaceous earth is more used in the environment. It's a drying agent that has micro jagged edges so it cuts fleas and ticks and dries them out. I never used it on my cats (I didn't want them licking it) but instead of using flea bomber on the apartment, dusted it in all our carpets and cloth furniture to kill all the fleas and flea eggs. Then you vacuum everything up. Worked like a charm.
Diatomaceous earth isn't toxic. It consists of the shells of ancient sea creatures. It works by getting into the joints of bugs and cutting them up, causing them to dehydrate and die. You can eat diatomaceous earth. The reason you don't want to inhale it isn't because it's toxic, but because tiny bits of rock in your lungs is bad for you, because obviously.
LOVE BABY DUCKS! DO YOU remember back in the day when we used to get baby ducks for Easter? they would always nibble on your ears and follow you around like you were their mother so cute!
Jusvin Tan the financial costs of the ducks' upkeep would probably be significantly lower than the costs of commercial fertilisers and pesticides, and the vintner would sell the organic wine at a premium. And then the tourist income from visitors arriving for the duck procession; cellar door sales and lunch at vineyard restaurant.... and the ducks and their "mommy" are so darned cute!!
No, the ducks probably cost more than fertilizer and pesticides would. The advantage is from the mating of the vinyard with the ducks. By combining them, the ducks at least help reduce fertilizer needs (don't know the details of that vinyard), and reduce pesticide needs, and the pests going after the grapevines help feed the ducks. By mating the two processes, each becomes more efficient.
YES! Giant snails of Africa destroy everything - the same thing happens in South Africa, where the harmless zebra snail (cochlitoma zebra) is slowly killed off by the invasive Ghanan, Tanzanian, and Kenyan snails then they (Ghanan, Tanzanian, and Kenyan snails) take over crops and destroy them in a matter of a few days. The ducks EAT giant snails and snail eggs. I like that!

I was there 2 Years ago and witnessed one of their “Duck-Runs”😬 It was absolutely amazing haha...the area around it is literally heaven! Won’t believe it’s beauty until you’ve been there!
Elvis the duck with a pom-pom on his head........aww~~
A lot of Permaculture farming advocates are using ducks to control insects on small farms as well. Plus, you get free fertilizer from the bugs they eat, eggs, and roast duck occasionally. Really a very good idea.
With all that's happening in the world now, I find this video strangely soothing. Maybe it's because I see these ducks so happy and working together to solve a problem rather than fighting with each other. These ducks are so cute, and helping their owner protect his crops.
I guess you could say those ducks are...

Do ducks eat grapes? Won't they just eat the grapes in the vineyard? Or will they just waddle away. Waddle waddle. And they waddled away till the very next day.
Darius Ng this Made my day😂
Waddle Waddle Waddle Waddle
Darius Ng They are taken out of the field before the grapes start maturing OR ELSE the ducks WILL eat the grapes.
Lol 😆
I know for a fact that ducks are released on rice fields in Vietnam. There they would eat away pests and even weed seeds, but won't touch any of the rice seeds
I love to see how gentle his is with them, you can just tell that he really cares for them :) I would love to see more people working with nature in the way it should be.
Only question is do they eat ticks? Or do the ticks eat them?
Dolph C. Volker they are excellent tick eaters but the true tick control is via guinea hens.
This video was so cute omfg 😭💕

LOVE BABY DUCKS!
DO YOU remember back in the day when we used to get baby ducks for Easter? they would always nibble on your ears and follow you around like you were their mother so cute!
Every year we learn so much from animals and their behavior, they are the key to our future
I want to be his nephew... He seems like a kind and happy uncle
I went there when I was in Africa they are so cute and fun
That moment when the ducks said "quack" I felt that 😔👊
Awww how cutely he's speaking English and taking care of his 1071 Ducks!!!!💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💯💯💯💯💯
Clever. Much better than pesticides. Is it cost effective also?
actually its cheaper. since the duck eat in the vine yard and at certain age they are sold for meat.
They would also get eggs to sell if they wanted.
The main disadvantage would be either if the ducks contract a disease, or their constant maintenance (feeding).
These kind of people will be genueinly happy in life
*calls the duck hot-line*
Me: Hello?
Duck: Hi! Got a pest problem?
Me: yes. My house is infected with snails!
Duck: were on our way.
Except the Duck would just say quack. But the other person understands it anyways.
Love this cohabitation. Taking care of the ducks
