I was expecting to take about an hour to paint and it only took 40 to 45 minutes. Birds are my standard watercolor subject when doing tutorials in my in-person classes. They are easy to generate a Wow response from the students. Thanks for watching.
No system other than working with basic circular shapes. It does take practice and an ability to judge if your shapes are inline with the reference material. Good question, thanks for watching.

Thanks for the video! Do you use some kind of Loomis-type model for drawing birds or other animals? Or is it just experience and eyeballing?
