I just bought a shield today. My first gun.
Congrats, you'll love it. Its awesome to shoot.
I did today as well...2 of them from palmetto state armory...$249 a piece!!
So how many do you have now?
Its a great gun. I love it.
Welcome to responsible gun ownership Sir. 2A- NO COMPROMISE.
I'm a fan of both guns. I prefer the S&W M&P 9mm Shield. Great video for first timers. Thank you! Great info and detail.
Hey, hey! ;)
Kanye West Think it be the other way around bud, might wanna get to know me first then the marrying action later. 😂 Too fast pace for me.
Kanye West I don’t do phone numbers unless I’m comfortable with the person. I have SC: ashbam1267
Kanye West Well, you knew that SC meant Snapchat, so you what it is. Sorry bout your luck sweet cakes.
Kanye West You can’t just claim anyone, not how the world works and you sure ain’t claiming me. I got 2 shotguns, 3 rifles, 2 pistols, and a knife set, good luck. You don’t even make sense.
I own a G43. My EDC. I love it. For me the G43 is perfect cause it is invisible to carry. I carry all day, every day. Great pistol.
Glock 1 yr. warranty only applies to the original owner. Smith warranties all subsequent owners and pays shipping both ways to boot.
Tom Smrdel k
What if the original owner shoots someone with it and throws it in a river and you find it and send it in for repair??
@@redacted4033 Your accessory to murder. Go straight to jail DO NOT PASS GO
Ya but glocks don’t have issues so warranty’s don’t matter
Well, the company may be willing to repair it, but you'd likely be facing charges if it ever came up. Get a new one.
Thank you. This is such a great review for people who are undecided between the G43 and a Shield, like you said it all comes down to personal preference. Personally I prefer the Glock.
Own a Glock 19 and absolutely love it. When it came to deciding between these two, I had to go with the Shield. At the price I got it for, I was able fit it with a Streamlight TLR-6 and a Hogue grip for less than selling price of the basic 43. Next upgrade is Trijicon night sights. I'm a Glock fan myself, but not to the point of ignoring the value of other brands.
same here, love my glock, and its my nightstand gun for capacity reasons, but my EDC is a shield. I think its something about the ergonomics of the way the shield sits in my hands, but I am consistently more accurate with the smith over the glock...
I enjoy Glock and M&P but the Shield $299.99+ Tax & $75.00 Rebate was very hard to pass up
I got one when the had that deal now I have 3 two in 9mm one of witch is it Performance Center then I got the performance center 45
Where on earth did you find it for that price lol. I am buying one today and spending $399 with no rebate that I’m aware of. It has upgraded night sights though, maybe that’s the difference?
@@lt0295 You got the performance version which has upgraded trigger as well. or a used gun someone put sights on.
BEAT MY COVERED WIFE nope I didn’t. I got the plain 1.0 version that doesn’t even have tritium sights on it. My new trigger arrives tomorrow, which I bought separately.
@@lt0295 Oh ok no night sights. the plain 1.0 is on palmetto state armory for 300 after my FFl transfer fee (where i got mine) sorry i got to you too late Shalom brother
Just got myself the shield in 9mm. It just felt so much better in hand than the G43.
Rich Ellis same here
Me too....LOL!
Sorry guys, I'm a Glock guy, got 6 of em, and love all of em
@@scoobyandscrappy1 ... noone cares what you buy.
You like over priced clunky guns? Good for you
I strongly agree. The Glock 43 was my choice until I held it in my hand. S&W shield felt great!
I like the 42" but Ive owned a G26 for 3 years" I'm a big fan of the Glock 26
M&P SHIELD ALL THE WAY
Just bought the Shield today; its the first gun i've ever purchased, and i've heard great things about it, super excited!
How’d you like it?
@@teelowteelow356 very solid gun, definitely recommended
The shield was my first gun as well. I own a shield plus now. Good stuff
I’ll take the Glock every time. Thanks.
Have the Shield in 9mm. It's a very great gun to carry concealed. At the range it's a stud. I love it. This is always going to remain part of my arsenal.
Nice video.
I tested both and other guns that were similar. The Shield is the one I bought.
Me too.
Just got the shield today and my brother had the glock I let him shoot the shield he went and traded his glock for the shield lol
No he didnt.
I can tel your lying no one does that if anything it was the other way around.
I have both, but i carry the SHIELD, just prefference .
@@813GC the only reason why they may not is price difference. Glocks are OVER PRICED.
@@813GC you’re slow
The glock fits me better. The shield has some hotspots 1 under the trigger guard and 1 at top of backstrap. Sold it amd got a 43. Its just whatever works best for ya.
I own both guns. I carry the Glock while the Shield sits in the safe. Both great guns though, I just prefer the 43.
@@kingpins9 piss off lol
@@kingpins9 watch yourself or I'll strangle you with my baby hands lol
@C glock better? AHAHAHAHAHAHA
Shot both before purchasing. I Iove glock but I'm afraid the shield won this time, it's cheaper and I shoot it better. Lifetime warranty, well made, shoots comfortable for a small gun, American made etc.... It's a no brainier smith and wesson wins! My go to gun however will remain the glock 19! Thanks for sharing your thoughts sootch, love your vids!
I have these exact pistols, and I too prefer my S&W 2.0 The grip somehow is much better IMO. Take-down of the Shield is not as easy. Not a big deal most times. So glad I bought it.
S&W Shield! This was my first pistol and I love it! 👏
just bought a shield 9mm over thanksgiving weekend. I love it.
Good review. Agreed. Its personal pref. The winner for me is CA. version SHIELD9, ext. safety, viridian green laser. Mag-guts+2.cap.9+1/10+1.147 gr.hydro. Awesome firearm. Eats all ammo. Love it. Be safe.
The Glock 43 in my hands fits great,I love this single stack 9.............anything heavier then the Glock 43 I will just carry my Glock 19 and call it a day....But if your going to buy a single stack gun go with the shield..
definitely 9mm shield I think best concealed gun and very cheap but very accurate
Crazy Funny Money Maker m
john brandenburg My Shield has never jammed. The Shield is more quality right out of the box.
john brandenburg The best rip off compared to the competition.
I really dislike the extended mag for the shield. To extend it, they sort of just added a sliding piece that moves up and down the magazine. That's kind of just a nitpick, but does feel cheap to me. I wish their mags had a little different design.
@@aGuyWhoPatsDogs Use the Tarn tactical extension.
The Glock 43 feels perfect in my hands. It's all a matter of choice. I choose Glock over S&W for my own reasons, but they're both great guns. Great vid as usual Sootch. BTW, I never understand the whole 1911 grip angle issue. I've been shooting 1911's from my beginning, over 30 years. The Glock grip has never been an issue.
Update-Now 500 rounds through my shield--100℅ reliable! Over a million made and early glitches have been rectified. I leave my c100 cz75 compact upgrade in the car and use the shield as my range gun; it's comfortable to shoot even using hot zqi nato ammo. I require a manual safety so my selection was between the shield and Sig 938. 1 was too small, grip didn't agree with me, and it had problems with the guide rod--see "Shooting the Bull's" post. Completely satisfied and am still awaiting a PC due to hi-vis sights and trigger job.
Thanks for your unprejudiced review even as a "Glock" man--lol...
I have been debating over the Glock and M&P since I started wanting to conceal carry! I have made my decision! M&P it is
Good choice
I carry G26 but started with a shield and one have no problem using it again, its a fantastic gun and it will always have a special place in my heart. Im going to get my wife one.
I carry my Shield 9mm in my front pocket no holster with thumb safety on. I might get the M&P 45 compact
@@johnwayne2012 .. Are you serious? There is no argument here. You always use a holster and do NOT use the safety. A proper holster with retention is your safety.
@Phil Mccrevasse ... That just proves that there are lots of people making big mistakes while carrying a firearm. No excuse for that!
Your closing statement alone is worth a thousand thumbs up!
I'm a huge Glock fan boy. I had them both and keep the shield......love your reviews!! Thanks
what's the name of your husband?
I have the Shield and EDC it, but something about the G43 is just aesthetically pleasing to me. Maybe I need both? ;)
So, let me see if I'm understanding this correctly. If I spend an extra $150 for the glock and then spend another $150 to get a steel guide rod, steel sights and +2 mag extender I can get a gun equal to the shield? Yea, makes perfect sense. Being a glock apologist must be exhausting.
ahahahahahahaha! My wife and I each own Shields, among other things. :) Great little cc pistols, accurate, and the extended mag really helps to keep my big meat claws on it. I have never had so much as a single misfire with either of them. The trigger pull is a little heavy for my liking, but not so much that I have ever done anything about it. LOL
It's philosophy of use, man. You're not taking these guns to Afghanistan, you're looking for something you can hide, that you'll be comfortable carrying, and that's shootable and reliable. Smith loses on concealment, shootability, and comfort, (bigger, heavier, and much worse trigger), and ties on reliable. Stop slamming your concealed carry gun's sights into brick walls and you'll be ok.
Don't confuse Glocksuckers with logic and reality. They've never shot a pistol before most of the time and when they have they've only shot Glocks and probably can't hit the GROUND with their Glock DROPPING IT so when you start talking about the benefits of weight in a pistol or rifle or shotgun and how it can aid in getting the gun "on target" and keeping it there and how it can really help in stressful situations when adrenaline is flowing and the shakes are setting in etc you might as well be talking to your dog or some other sentient life form that might "get it" because Glocksuckers just CAN'T "get it" even if they want to really bad. That's why they're....Glocksuckers. You can't EVER "talk guns" with a Glocksucker because you've immediately confused them the first time you say "gun" or "pistol" or "handgun". They don't talk about "guns" or "pistols" or "handguns". They talk about GLOCKS. Glock isn't "synonymous" with "gun" to them. Glock is substituted for gun to them. They extend that to all other makes/models of guns, as well. And that works "OK" as long as its a 'comparison". They can shift from Glock to "Brand X" and back fairly well and as long as you don't giggle every time they say Glock or "Brand X" instead of just saying "gun" while knowing the reason why they don't is because they're never experienced WITH "guns" meaning MORE THAN THE TWO THEY'RE CURRENTLY EDUCATING YOU ABOUT and even THEN they have to keep saying Glock and "Brand X" just to keep from getting tripped up/confused/ exposed by their own bullshit if someone throws a "trick question" at them, they'll probably NEVER FIGURE OUT that most "Glock-haters" that actually engage them in "Glock talk" are only doing so for the entertainment value. You can even get a buddy to silently "observe" the conversation online and you can have over/under bets on how many times the Glocksucker will say Glock in X number of minutes or in a single sentence, etc. Ever see Super Troopers? Meow! That's the kind of kick I get out of Glocksuckers. I've got a mental list of "talking points" and there literally must be some ACTUAL Glock "talking points" out there in the Glockuverse somewhere. Because they're just omnipresent every time a Glocksucker is talking Glocks. But eventually I start to feel a little sorry for them. Especially when I happen to think about how often Glocksuckers get into "gun battles" and such. Oh my God. I just happened to realize WHY Glocksuckers fear "gun battles" so much and always mention how they want their Glock along in a "gun battle". A GUN BATTLE and not knowing what the "enemy" is shooting at them with would have to be Hell on Earth for a Glocksucker. It could be a GLOCK! How could a Glocksucker with a Glock ever win a gun battle against a Glocksucker with a Glock? It would be perpetual war. Good thing they've got lots of magazine capacity. And that Glocks don't ever need cleaning and go bang every time they pull the trigger. Otherwise somebody would have to stop and clean their Glock or they might not run out of ammo at the same time or something else could tip the tables and one Glocksucker would Glock the other Glocksucker to Glocking death with his Glock. And that would be a Glocking tragedy.
DEEREMEYER1 forgot to mention glocksuckers are like applefanboys you cant mention nothing about other devices cause they are clueless
DoctorDistracto glock is way overpriced it's just like wearing Abercrombie or having Louie vittuon
What a great review. Thank you. I’m not a gun guy,,, yet, but I have a Glock 17 and I hate the trigger. I’m looking for a smaller gun that I can conceal. I did look at a shield and thought the trigger was better than the Glock(for me). I’m going to go back and try the shield out again after watching this. Thanks again for the great information for a novice in your video. Subscribe….
I own a Shield and it's great. For the money it can't be beat. Even with the Glock costing $100+ more, the justification for that premium isn't there. Sorry but the 43 is a day late and a dollar short.
Tommy TwoGun I like Glock, but you're absolutely right. $100 more for nothing over the shield. Glock needs to at least start putting better sights on their guns.
I like LifeTime Warranty, Shield for me.
Edward L. I would rather plastic sights that retain their marks vs metal sights that the paint pops out of
Ricky Hogan yea if I had a less reliable gun I would want the lifetime warranty as well
@@JuJu-yt8vk .....im buying the shield, but a funny comment none the less! 😂
Good one
I own the Shield in 9mm and 45. I have a Glock 19 as a duty gun but I picked the Shield as my EDC. Super thin, comfortable and reliable. I like Glock but I'll pick the Shield all day long. That extra round capacily can make all the difference in the world.
they are both awesome choices, i want both :)
I love my 43.
I'm a 1st time gun owner. Checked out both Glock 9mm & smith & Wesson 9mm. My hands felt a lot better on the smith & Wesson. Better smaller/slim and fits better for CCW 👌🏽
The reason, why I choose to get WS
Love the shield, but like the 9c even more
+treiz Thats my EDC. Just a little bigger in all dimensions than the Shield but a LOT more firepower on tap if you consider carrying a fullsize spare mag. Even the flush 12rd'er isn't bad. I have a Shield, the 9C and 9L Performance Center, M&P fan here!
+mytmousemalibu great set of pistols! I'm thinking about the shield or the 9c for my next carry gun. I carry a Ruger LCR now (i really like it), but I want a semi auto option. I don't know if I should go for the capacity of the 9c or the comfort of the shield...
Andrew Jensen Best thing would be to go look at them at the same time, compare side by side. Even better if you could go to a range that does rentals and put some rounds through each. Shield is smaller by a little and lighter which it carries a little better but not by a drastic amount at all. Biggest difference is fully loaded weight, the 9C holding more rounds making it heavier. That's probably what stands out the most to me. Dimension wise, the width of the 9C over length/height is the most noticeable. For me the slight edge in comfort & weight wasn't enough to outweigh the extra firepower for EDC. Both are great guns, can't go wrong with either. Since I have a 9L also, its nice to have some mag compatibility and having a bunch of full size mags around. The 9L is my "open division" race gun, which a few mags have Taran Tactical & Taylor Freelance extensions on them, those big sticks fit the 9C just fine!
+treiz indeed, i have the 9c as well for my EDC, i have the apex duty trigger and trijicon dot over dot night sights installed.
***** The Apex triggers are an awesome upgrade over the original. I have one in my 9C and 9L. The 9C breaks at 3.5lbs and the 9L is 1.5lbs but its a competition gun. Running XS Big Dots on the C. Wouldn't have it any other way now. I wished they were a little better stock though. The trigger in my Shield was pretty poor but I just did a little work on it for now.
The Shield is the clear winner in my book and I'm a Glock Fan Boy. They had their chance on single stack and blew it big time in my opinion
chuck middleton "once you get the aftermarket mag plates"
Yeah but this is a comparison out of the box. Most people won't even bother to search for aftermarket parts. With that said, you can do the same for the shield and it will then hold +1 above the glock, again. Lol
Macleod644 i keep noticing the argument for glock usually involves "aftermarket customization" im already spending 500 bucks on a handgun w most glocks so why should i have to spend even MORE money just to make it the same thing as a something i can get out of the box that already has everything
chuck middleton true and im not knocking glock at all.
Jacokb Logan I

I own the Shield, never fired a Glock...but I can say the shield is fantastic.
I started with a shield and now carry glock 26, however I still love the shield and plan on buying one for my wife for her first gun
The glock is too big for pocket carry and too small for me to justify iwb bc I can carry a much bigger gun comfortably iwb.
Really think the shield is better but I like glock as a company. You can't deny that glock makes great guns but they're not as innovative as they once were.
+Alex Morrison That's why I'm going with the G26.
+Johnny Reb If I'm being honest I shoot the 9mm better than the .40 cal.
+TTplinker 40sw is a bastard round. I took a few forensic ballistics courses in college and the perniciousness of a .40 is nearly identical to a 9mm in hollowpoints using the same technology.
+Alex Morrison After watching some high-speed video tests I kind of thought the same thing. From what I saw one could argue that .45acp is almost the same as well. The numbers may not say that but visually the performance looked the same.
I carry my 42/43 every day. I live in philly and the 43 is perfect for carrying in a hoodie.
Just switched from glock to the shield. Had g19 gen4. Now have a shield 9mm. The difference is amazing. Plus with kids around, a safety is always an added preventive. Never rely on a safety, but it’s extra piece of mind.
If you think about it, glock has never released a new product since the 1980s, all glock models are just dimension changes on the original 17, a few updates here and there but the gun is very much starting to show its age.
Also the shield is just better then the 43, its even cheaper.
The shield is just another polymer copy of the Glock. Glock is / was the innovator. So is the Shield better ? I would say that's up to you. Myself, I'll stick with the Glock.
Sam's son Hmmmm, seems the only defense Glock seems to have these days is “but we were first.” A shield is anything but a copy of the Glock. Polymer is about the only similarity. The Shield’s sights are vastly better, the slide is better, the recoil is better, the grip is better, the magazine is better, and the capacity is better.
Being first is cool and all, but at some point, you have to start to innovate.
PS I love Glocks. I just accept that one is better for concealed carry, while another is better just for an all purpose, Jack of all trades gun.
@@lt0295 I wouldn't dream of trying to choose for every one, thing is, I have several Glocks, they always have worked well for me, coming from a 1911 platform as a teenager, it took awhile to get used to the trigger, learn the breaking and reset point. I'm going to keep the ones I have. (I still have that old 1911, shoot it now and then). And I'd really like to shoot the shield. Lots of videos of people who really like it. I like the XDS too, want to shoot it too, but I can't have them all. As much as I'd like that
what do you think about sig P365? I heard they had some problems with striker breaking when they came out, but I don't know what is the situation now.
Well, I hear they are top quality, reliable, but I don't own one, haven't shot one. I'm more of a Glock guy, they always just seem to work for me, But the Sig, S&W Shield, Springfield XDS, they're all good, they will work well for you too. Probably best to go to a range that will let you try different ones and make your mind up on which is best for you. @@adrianakuzmikova1697
How about the biggest reason to own a Smith and Wesson. Made in America.
Amen.
My Glock 43 was made in the state of Georgia, USA.
I just recently bought a shield for about $275. So it's pretty cheap in general. But especially when you compare it to the comparable Glock.
Zashra How Much Was It Out The Door And What State Was It Purchased?
Very good comparison. I'm a glock fan, but cant see myself spending that much on the 43 when I have a 26. Shield has been on my mind.
Great review as always!
Great review as always!
I have a Glock 42, but carry the Shield far more often. The Shield is a fine gun and a true value.
I really like Glock, I love my shield to. There’s one thing I definitely prefer the m$p has over the Glock is the finish on the slide very strong scratch resistant looks good

+RAZORJB 299 for the shield?...from a shop/store that ships? Never seen it at that price anywhere. thanks
In this case Smith and Wesson shield , no brainer! For mid/ full size gun Glock !
I've never shot the 43 but I carry my Shield daily and highly recommend it.
Polymer sights and polymer mags? Why the hell is the Glock $100+ extra? The Shield shoots so nicely right out of the box. Sounds like people are just paying extra money for a cheaper firearm.
A cop told me once "If you need a large amount of rounds in your 🔫 you need more time at the range".
Unless you find yourself in a situation with determined attackers. I prefer to have more than I need.
That cop was just trying to sound cool. But 7 rounds in the 43 should be good for conceal carry. I carry a 43 with a spare mag that has plus 3 (Tar Tac).
Your first mistake was taking gun advice from a cop.
Yeah he was trying to sound cool. I was a cop and a Marine and magazine capacity is always an important consideration for me
God bless all cops but with the idiots rioting these days I’ll take all the rounds I can get.
Glock > everything. Yes I'm a fanboy, but I've shot other guns and there's a reason Glock is so popular.
I love Glocks! But the Smith & Wesson wins here easily
Easily? Ha-why?
Please elaborate sir
@@5jjt LOL leave the man alone, it’s his personal opinion, LOL especially If he’s more effective with it.
I have a sheild, that glock was not available . I do have glock 19 and 23. Love them all! Have the full size m&p too.
Both great guns. Sometimes you feel like carrying a 9, sometimes you don't. It's nice to have the lighter, thinner 380 as an option.
Lol this little kitty said a 380. That mp shield is a small gun with that 9mill power. What u gonna do with a 380 hunt rats
@@jaimemolinaaleman459 Some people might say the same exact thing about 9mm versus. 45. John Browning called the .380, a short 9.
Excellent video but the smitten Weston is much harder to break down you have to get a screwdriver and stick it in the inside to push it down that's what they recommend some people don't but then again jams up if they're well we'll soda service department is terrible it takes weeks and weeks to get your gun back heard stories a friend of mine he waited two and a half months to get his shield back something snapped inside they had to replace it he had to pay for shipping just unbelievable Glock as much better service you could talk to them on the phone Smith's very hard to get but anyway clock's been around with these guns for a long time it's up to you like he said that your own preference something like Glock some like Smith's some like h&k so whatever makes you happy 😊
I looked at many different guns for concealment before deciding to go with the G43. At a petite 5'2" I needed something that I could carry with the different outfits I wear. Glock's reputation for reliability was important to me as well. Fits well in my hand and shoots well too. Almost went with a G26 but it was too bulky for me.
The g43 feels better in hand than the shield i must admit, but in terms of price, the shield has it beat.
A great video on the Glock 43 and S&W Shield 9mm go with the S&W Shield the video explains everything just follow it you will love the Shield
🇺🇸💯👍
Perfect timing on this video sootch. I'm considering picking up a shield for a Christmas gift.
I kept looking for the 'magic' Glock but a 43 won't do what a 17 will and vice versa. But! In a way the 26 will with sleeves and extensions.
Smith and Wesson has a 50 rebate going on now.
Yes thats why I'm gonna buy one tomorrow!!!
Right.
Nice review. It looks like I will be needing that S&W lifetime warranty. The recoil spring assembly on my Shield broke at around 500 rounds. I've been waiting for a replacement from S&W for some time now and I can't seem to find one anywhere else. Fortunately have a Glock as backup! : )
And guys DNT forget about the sheild s track record been around alot longer then the 43 lol there both great for me sheild 2.0 all day
I carry it 26 and love it and I've been checking out the 43 whenever I get a chance as soon as I can find a new one for decent price I'm going to pick one up, no Smith & Wesson I think is more comfortable and probably fit smaller hands better but it's almost too skinny plus I am not a fan of the trigger but then again I haven't really spent time handling a shield whereas I've been carrying the Glock for over 5 years
For trigger , I don't see any value the sound of reset, I never care its trigger reset, just focus aiming, and fire.
Wutikrai Pornchai .. exactly. Never understood these reset people. Unless you're shooting in competitions, it does not matter as long as it does in fact reset.
It is something they had to come up with justifications for. When you need a gun most, you're going to be slapping that trigger with everything you have.
Wutikrai Pornchai THANK YOU! I find it very annoying that people nitpick about something so irrelevant in a self defense weapon! I'm glade I'm not the only one who sees it that way.
Its only the tacticool kids who nitpick guns. Then again if you look at them it seems like they are wear paranoid bracelets and cargo shorts or pants in either a black, tan, for a faint green with some for of buttoned shirt you know the tacticool shirt with the hat and sun glasses. they stand out like sore thumbs IMO then again i never understood the need to look like military personal just to do some target shooting or tacticool shooting as they call it
Tt Ss Don't forget the required g shock watch and long beard.
I have the g43 good gun had no problems with it guessing it's a better gun not only because it is obviously worth more money but other reasons but then agian I like all guns dont really care if your packing your packing
I guess im getting the shield..... every video review ive seen points towards the shield. Now the next question is 9mm or .40?
Shoot them and you will find what works best for YOU.
S&w will never be a Glock!!!!! You can customize the Glock guns for just a little bit to make it no comparison!!!!!!
Having had the Glock 43 for a year now I can say I officially hate it. I feel like I have little to no control over it because I can never get a grip on the damn thing. I have smaller hands too. I'm picking up a M&P Shield this weekend and selling my Glock.
npsantini you'll love the shield. It's a dream to shoot
npsantini Did you get a Shield? If so, what are your thoughts in comparison to the Glock?
Brandon Morton Yes, I got the shield and love it! To me the shield feels better in the hand and is easier control meaning it feels less snappy than the Glock did. Also, the trigger on the Glock used to really hurt my finger and the Shield smooth.
I shoot way more accurately with the shield. I'm pretty sure switching to the shield was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
That's great to hear! Thanks for the info.
npsantini I have both, I like em both for different reasons Shield is snappier, Glock trigger is better, Shields grip is better, etc I couldnt hate either of these guns
As much as I hate to admit it, I may have to try a shield. 🤢🤮 I just hate S&W so much but in this comparison the shield is the clear winner.
I went a head and bought the both because I couldn't decide which i liked more and also my girlfriend wanted a gun too. After carrying both and shooting both I am slowly leaning towards the shield for two main reasons. 1: larger mag capacity and yes i know I can buy after market stuff for my glock, I bought the plus 1 base plate but that's kind of corny that I have to buy something for it to compete with an out of the box shield. And 2: I am finding that the shield is more comfortable in appendix carry than the glock 43 due to the glocks grip angle sticking into my belly slightly where the shield does not. This i found interesting as i could not find anyone who mentions this when comparing the two. Both are good guns but the shield feels like a little gun with big gun feel and features, that to me is a good thing. The glock feels like you'd expect a gun that size to feel. I'll probably end up letting my girl hold onto the 43 for me as she seems to like it anyways. But in the mean time They are both mine for further evaluation! =P
AND YOU GIVE HEAD, I HEARD FROM YOUR LIVE-IN BF.
Good stuff , great opinion
The shield hands down.affordable, reliable & downright acurate.
Just bought a shield 9mm last weekend and went straight to the range with it shot it right out of the box.100 rounds of federal 115 grain fmj brass flawless I was amazed at how accurate that little gun is cant wait to shoot it again
@@davidb8397 its a sweet little side arm.i love shooting mine.i can tear a can up at 40 yards.consitantly.
I own a shield and I've shot the glock as well. I honestly think the shield is a better gun. It has less felt recoil, a better grip, it's a lot cheaper, and his has been around longer so the gun is a proven firearm.
The Shield was out way before the Glock. Use a little sandpaper and the shield trigger is better than the apex in my opinion.
Feel in the hand definitely goes to the shield.
I don't care what people thing I just simply like glocks, they've always just worked for me, I'm not a fan boy but when I carry I just want a gun that's 100% going to work,
both guns are amazing guns here but I prefer the glock but maybe you'll like the m&p more, everyone's different
Glocks aren't anymore reliable than most other semi-auto guns on the market today. If your sole reason for them is reliability, then why don't you carry a revolver? I don't have a problem with Glocks, I'm just confused as to why their owners think they are the most reliable guns ever.
TheRealMcCoy I've carried the Glock 23, as well as the Sig P229, on duty for many years. I would not trust my life with a S&W when Glock, FN, and Sig are available.
Swiss Watch Craze None of those Guns you listed are more reliable than the M&Ps
TheRealMcCoy it’s more reliable then people say
I think it's time the gun community ditches the word "reliable" because that word has become so oversaturated.
Listen everybody when it comes to combat handguns Smith & Wesson doesn't even compare to a Glock, you don't have to like it, just understand it, Glock makes the best combat handguns in the world. Remember I said combat handguns!
own both, but shoot the Shield much better. I totally agree with you, as far a G19. It's maybe the finest combat pistol ever...straight out of the box I'd take it to hell and back. I really wanted to love the 43 but just can't seem to warm up to it.
Can't go wrong with either. But i prefer the shield, not that my opinion really matters anyways. Just seems like the better deal 💰
Great simple and thorough review! I've been trying to narrow down my choice of a weapon this size and you made it a little easier. Well done and thanks!
Glock but I like the shield also so both r nice guns. If u r own the end of either guns u r in deep S__t. Thx for another great video.
IMO shield by a mile for $, round count, sights. I like the feel in my hands of the shield and no slide bite from the shield. Shield less snappy and more accurate for me. Shield feels like a larger gun than it really is, I have large hands. That's my 2 cents! Thanks
The Shield feels great, but pulling back the slide sucks. So I sold mine. Glock is the best still!!!
Got a shield 9mm for my birthday 3 days ago, love this gun already even Though i haven’t shot it yet!!
I just received mine. Haven't shot it yet.
The G43 is the better pistol. If you are trained well you wont need more than 7 rounds. Thats what it comes down too
My current carry is a Walther PPS-M2, but I'd buy the S&W over the Glock every time. Smiths just feel better in the hand.
I've watched all these review and comparison videos for the past few months and finally decided to get the Shield... It just so happened that they were having a sale that ends today and I got mine for $224.99 after mail in rebate. Pretty lucky coincidence! I've had it for 2 weeks now and am very happy with it so far!
Superb video. Cuts to the chase from the very beginning. No dead air. No hemming and hawing. No trying the listener's patience with time wasting irrelevancies. Gets right to the facts that people want to know about the two guns. More online videos ought to be like yours.
NB: My preference is for the Glock. I prefer its clean lines, which also mean less chance of snagging on clothing. Too bad it costs 100 dollars more.
You think that a Glock has clean lines? Guess you married the ugly sister............
Of these two, the Shield....
But now in 2020? P365 all day.
I tried to carry my shield, but ended up carrying a 380 because there is quite a bit of weight&size difference.
adam jama I carry a lcp, funny how some people say they can carry a glock 19 and "forget it's there" :D
+adam jama isn't that the beauty of how people are different?
+Nutjob Joe In that case, you would probably like the G43 better as well.
What do u carry lcp...
The Shield is the only small gun I’d consider. The version without the safety of course.
I own both these guns and agree it's a matter of preference. But I have to say the Taurus PT 111 Millennium G2 is hard to beat for price, recoil and capacity. I wish more companies would make upgrades for it. But for me I carry the Taurus for now. After 2000 rounds with no hick ups, I feel confident in carrying it. As always great informative video.
+Grumpy4545 I have to agree, for the money the G2 is a great gun. If Taurus ever comes out with a G3 I hope they make the safety optional and add a decocker. When it is in double action the trigger is so smooth. they need to take advantage of it.
I love the looks and feel of the G2 Taurus but I bought one last year and continual FTF with all ammo including hst 124gr so I sold but bought another yesterday and it would fail to go into battery every shot with several kinds of ammo, cleaned tried again same thing. So I returned. Went with shield. I want to love Taurus but had to give up.
@Sootch00 did you mean magazine release @around 12:00 as being ambi?
Just bought the 43 2 days ago. Haven't fired it yet. I truly love the feel of it. I did put a hogue grip on it cause I have semi large hands. It's going to be my EDC.
@deucedeuce22oz Better warranty, less money, higher capacity and equal if not surpassing the Glock in quality. It adds up. I got the Shield and would have got both but the 43 isn't available in my State. Im going to add a CZ Rami to my rotation as soon as I get a chance.
@deucedeuce22oz Can't get the 43 in the State because it's not on the DOJ roster. California. The Rami is the little brother to the CZ 75. It's a hammer fired sub compact with a Decocker . I love decocker pistols. And it can carry 14 rds. CZ quality.
@deucedeuce22oz If you can get your hands on one buy it.
New York State, we are limited to round capacity. Extra round capacity is really moot. Great video. Would be hard to decide, if I didn't already have a G-27.
No question, I would buy the M&P over the Glock.
Me too. Lots of advantages imo and a much better value.
Unless you are partial to revolvers, the M&P Shield is THE handgun to own. So good in fact, that I just got one to hide away as a secondary home defense weapon.*
* Maxine Waters has inspired me to carry more often, as well as increase my defense capabilities at home.
all i own and carry is glock and having shot the m and p for the first time today, i would agree
I grew up at the range. Shot 2 k rounds a week growing up. Won every shooting contest I ever entered. Starting when u was 15 y/o in the adult shooting class.
I like his videos.
He is not a know-it -all with finger nails highly manicured while he makes a worthless video telling us all the obvious we allready know.
I prefer the Shield.
Grip angle.
Shield 2.0 trigger vastly superior.
Grip texture like 80 grit sandpaper- just what I want when I reach for my weapon when seconds are life & death.
Better warranty.
More accurate for most shooters.
As I see it, Shield is the most underrated pistol today.
I would rather have my Glock any day of the week.
I have the Glock 43 on layaway right now. I'm just a big Glock fan (I have a 26 and 17). However, I do own an M&P Bodyguard, SD9VE, and a classic 6945 from S&W. The Bodyguard and my G26 get the most carry due to size. Looking forward to adding the 43 to my EDC rotation.
Glock is thinner, shorter and lighter. It's more concealable by far. Concealment guns aren't meant to be comfy with big grips. Supposed to be light, small and most importantly work 100% of the time. Glock all day for me. M&P trigger and other parts just feel flimsy to me. To each their own.
had both and it was no contest, the shield was by far superior. It was more comfortable better trigger and never had a malfunction. Traded the glock for a an XDs, it was better than the G43. I tried to like the Glock it just had no benefit over anything else. It comes down to what you like. They are all good guns but the other two were great CC guns, the Glock is just good.
Glock is quality no argument there, but the Shield is quality and value.
They're equally capable. The Shield sells for $250-275 vs $450 for the Glock.
Hmm...
