Yeah for 1 szn I am taking CP. CP has shown he can be a reliable 2nd option who flirts as a no 1. Jrue is a 3rd option who struggled as a 2nd option. However CP is old now and I might rather have Jrue for the next few years

CP3 would elevate the flow of the Bucks offense a good amount by ball movement and facilitating. I still don’t think it gets the job done.
The hypothetical series between Boston and the Bucks would go the exact same or even worse. You would lose your ability to help defend one of the youngest duo’s in the league. Jrue Holiday’s defensive play is by far better than CP3 now.
Game 7 against the Mavs CP3 against a way worse defensive team had 10 points. Dinwiddie & Brunson combined for 54 points (these two are both Gaurds). Who was CP3 guarding in that game? The elimination game.. Against a far worse team CP3 did not do anything for them just defensively (offensively either). Tatum and JB would give CP3 a terrible time in that series.
This reminds me of a video i watched where Isiah Thomas (OG) said: both my and Magics game are bordering on unsafe unlike Chris Paul who plays a completely safe game with 0 turnovers bc he doesn't step out of his comfort zone. He'll hold the ball till it leads to an assist unlike Magic/IT who passed to set guys up even for hockey assists early in the shotclock. Magic/IT also sent dangerous passes that could've led to turnovers bc natural high assists=turnovers but CP3 doesn't want mistakes and wants all the assists for himself. Magic/IT averaged 4+ turnovers but made late game plays unlike CP who malfunctions in chaotic late game scenarios.

Lol. I can't believe this discussion is happening. Jrue Holiday is Buck's best perimeter defender. Swap him out with CP3 and they would lose in 5 or 6 against the Celtics. I think there's a case to be made IF you add Chris Paul to the Bucks that had Giannis and Jrue, but not without Jrue. Heading into next season, I don't believe Chris Paul can be the 2nd best player on a championship team. I don't think Suns can make it out in the West with their current roster when all the western conference teams are getting healthy not to mention the next up and coming young teams as well. The key is the West is only going to get better and more competitive while Chris Paul is only getting older. We're not in 2020 anymore.
You say that as if booker, ayton, bridges, and cam johnson wont get better. They made it to where they are now with cp averaging 15 pts last year. Cp getting older wont slow the suns down
Cp3 was the reason the Rockets lost in 2019, put only 16 ppg on 44 FG% AS A 2ND OPTION. Harden put up 35ppg on 46 FG% but yet Harden "choked" imagine if Klay put up only 16ppg on 44FG%, the Warriors aren't winning anything.
2018 he was straight dope and Harden was part of that 0-27 after CP3 helped get them up 3-2.
2019 Harden was peak and CP3 started showing his age for sure. Curry cooked them in 6 with KD out.

The Bucks swap proposed (CP3 for Jrue) would improve the Bucks offensively in such a fashion that the defense lost in that switch can be overlooked. The Bucks roster is built for CP3 even better than the Suns.

First of all, CP3 is definetely a HOF level player, but he is not the best or one of the 2,3 players of the NBA in any time of period. In that case, he needs to play with some other great players. And right now, with CP3 gets older and older, his defense looks worse and worse, more teams will attack him in the playoffs. It''s going to be very hard for CP3 to win a title now. Regardless, I will always remember his special mid-range, his 2018-19 unbelievable season with Houston, his comeback in 2020-21 season with Phonenix, CP3 will always take a special place in my NBA memory
But Phoenix help defense is terrible in last 2 years' playoffs, maybe CP3 in a better overall defensive team will not be exposed that much. I know PHX were top 5 last year on DFR, but just like Utah, they switch too much and rely too much on their center defensively

Chris Paul has played with exactly one top 75 player of all time in his entire career. And that one player is James harden who is an even worse notorious playoff choker. Besides that his best talents have been Blake griffin who can’t get a paper curt without getting hurt, Deandre jordan who can’t tie his own shoe without Cp, David west who was a solid player but never a star, Tyson chandler when he was as just starting to finally not be a bust, and now Devon booker who hasn’t even hit his prime yet. He missed out on Kobe because of stern, and any close calls for stars joint mg his teams were shot down when they chose other teams over the clippers. Kd almost joined La and so did melo. But they both chose otherwise. So it’s been cp carrying or just running into better teams 99% of the time. And history has proven several things that don’t go in cp3s favor. First off, unless you have a comparable amount of team talent like magic, curry, and Zeke have had, or u play with atleast one other top 75 player of all time at their best, it’s highly unlikely that a point guard is gonna lead a team to a title. ESPECIALLY if you’re pass first. Secondly, small guards 6 ft 2 and under typically don’t win as the top guy. The small guys are typically better off if they are the secondary star or the third star as opposed to being the best. If cp has to be the man on your team, u probably aren’t gonna win. No different than Stockton, Kidd, Nash, and any other pgs excluding magic, Zeke, and curry. People love to shit on Cp not winning while all there favorite players have had nothing short of great luck and plenty of competent rosters around them. Everybody else is clicking up with other superstars. Cp is the only one from his generation that hasn’t done that. He didn’t play with any of his peers ( bron, wade, Dwight, bosh, melo, Kobe, Duncan, kd, etc).
No one in the curent era is a top ten player of all time.

Like literally Russ was having a field day out there. Clippers were a deeper team, and they still couldn't get it done. Chris Paul choked so badly in the 4th quarter in game 5. Think about it, KD was awful in game 5, and Russ went for 38. And CP3 still couldn't get it done. Thats why for me personally Russ > CP3 all time on PG list.
