Who remember the VHS box?? Came with a key and a little keyhole. Coolest VHS box.

😄😁😘
You're right
Yup lol 😂
Man there’s nothing better than 90s nostalgia 🙏🏼
Foreal I agree with you
Amen.
Yes! I feel bad for anyone not born in the 90s
Nah it was peak
No cold war no post 9/11
My 5th grade teacher read this to our class back in the late 80s. She’s read one chapter every day after lunch. I’ll never forget sitting in the theaters years later and seeing this trailer. I was so excited as I loved the book!
Yeah my teacher need one more chapter and after we will take a test then chillaxe next monday and watch the movie💛😃👀
Thinking back on those beautiful memories fills my heart with nostalgia
I grew up on a farm in the country... my 5th grade teacher did the same..... o wow brought back memories
My teacher is reading this to us in online school and we are reading a chapter every day and I love it so much!!!!
Im still in grade five and the kids were supposed to be on pg 85 but I finished the book
This takes me back to better simpler times when you look back at your childhood and realize how beautiful it was ☺️ sometimes 😒.
It really doesn't feel like this came out 25 years ago, but I still think time is moving too fast.
Yes
@marshamadness now 28 years ago
For some reason this movie has been on my mind the older I get. It takes me back to a time and place when life was easier.
Man I remember watching this movie once back in the 90s. Guess I'll watch it again in 2021. Nostalgia overload.
Indian in the cupboard
Sandlot
Mighty Ducks
90s......the golden era
don't forget "powder" that. was a great movie as well lol
Yesss
93 here my dude
YES!!!!
Yep and little rascals also Angel's in the outfield
So sad watching this. It reminds me of the good days when I had not a care in the world.
For reaaaaal
I'm surprised that Disney hasn't acquired this movie yet. But if they did, this masterpiece would be ruined.
Finally, someone gets it.
If it was made by Fox than yes, Disney would own it. Thankfully that’s not the case!
The title wouldn't even fly today. lol
Its on netflix now!
Nah not really, their digital remastering technology is like the best in the business. They could make this movie look like it came out recently.
This is one of my all time favorite movies. I had this in VHS when I was a kid, and I used to watch it again and again. 35 years now, and still love this movie.
above and up the 90s we all know this movie was a legendary one you can't ever forget
this was one of my most replayed movies as a kid!!! loved this. 🍿🎬🎥
This Masterpiece is forgotten today...but to those that grew up with this like I did please treasure it
I was so hyped and got others to be hyped about it...in fact this was literally taught in English class when I was in the 5th or 6th grade
I am 37 now and I just wish they could revive and remaster this one...so underrated movie nowadays and I don’t know if this movie is on Netflix or Hulu
Got to start searching
I remember watching it at the movies when i was like 6 but don't remember watching it again
So was the cupboard magical? Because in the trailer you see the other toys come to life as well like Robocop and Darth Vader.
I actually owned a toy version of the cupboard, the key and the indian
Me too!
Did it work?
@@branzilla1722 yeah mine actually did. I put a replica of Danny DeVito in it and he started screaming about Charlie
@@kaijupinnosso1854 Interesting! I mostly did what the kid did in the movie. Bring Darth Vader to life. He cut my thumb with his Lightsaber and ran off with my Luke. Never saw them again. Had fun with the Sesame Street gang tho.
Me too I forgot all about that!
Omg, nearly forgot this brilliant movie
Same I haven't seen this film in over 15+ years, just started watching it again on Amazon ☺️
This takes me back to happier times in my childhood. This movie has been on my mind the older I get. It takes me back to a time and place when life was easier. And I definitely notice it's a movie people sleep on. People don't talk about it like Home Alone, Back To The Future. But as fans we can keep it going by telling people about it and re-watching.
So many good films were released that some films with a lower marketing budget ended up under people's radar.
Of which, first when the film was on TV or when the school showed the film, people discovered how good the film was.
People don't remember it because it's mediocre. You just miss it because it reminds of a time before you were a sad adult.
@@carinadominguez22 Damn dude, who hurt you?
My grandma once met the actor who played the Indian, she even had a photo to prove it.
Pics or it didn't happen
I don't know if she still has it.
Was his real name litefoot
I don't know.
Was he really that small?
I’m born in 05 and I’ve never been more thankful to be raised by a teen mom bc I knew all the golden era movies and music
love that ! i was born in 2003 and im so happy they read us books like this at my primary school :))
I'll never forget the first time I watched this. I was 5 when this movie came out, and though I couldn't really understand the story, the scenes just stood out so much that for a while, I developed a fixation on cupboards, hoping to find little people inside. 😄
Lol same
I thought Chris was lying about this
Lmfao
I remember watching this when I was a kid. Underrated movie.
The films special effects had a giant effect on my 9 yr old self back then. Blown away to re watch the trailer now and realize that some of the same folks who made Star Wars brought this to us 👌
Howard Stern played a really convincing kid in this movie. Props.
This was a great movie. Watched it many times when I was a kid.
Very cool, Chris
Holy crap, I damn near forgot this even existed. So, this wasn't a childhood fever dream.
After I watched this trailer, I started crying. Now I remember why-my mother died the year this came out in theaters. I only saw it on cable years later. ❤
God loves you
As a kid my grandad had a wood workshop and tools, and he patiently remade this cupboard with me because i was so obsessed with this film. Damn time flies away from you so fast.
I saw this movie and read the book in elementary school it was really good
I remember being a kid putting toys into a toy house acting like a I had a key locking & unlocking & opening it & still having fake toys cause of this movie
Omg that’s my most fave part of this amazing movie when Little Bear says to Omri firmly ~ YOU SHOULD NOT DO MAGIC YOU DO NOT UNDERSTAND”.
I had the VHS tape as a kid and watched it so many time. Itwas left as a deep memory in my head until now...over 20 years later. Childhood complete
Brings back childhood memories.
This movie just popped into my head and I haven’t seen or thought about it in years!! Good old UA-cam to relieve my childhood. Amazing nostalgia with this movie
Every Canadian kid watched this movie in school, usually a few times.
We watched it in America as well
I just watched a UA-cam compilation of 90s commercials, and this was mentioned In a yogurt ad. I literally jumped off my couch and started pacing around the room, having unlocked a dormant memory.
I remember loving this movie as a kid.
This takes me way back...feels like it wasn't that long ago but I watched this about 25 years ago and thought it was she coolest movie ever at the time.
Oneyplays brought me back to this movie. Completely forgot what it was called and now I feel silly not just googling *“The Indian in the Cupboard.”*
This was such a good movie I can't believe there wasn't more movies like it.
Also: You can't! They're people! You can't use people!
A good lesson in life, just wish it was more relevant.
Hollywood today has the attitude that the film must either be a guaranteed 100m + profit movie, if not then it will not be greenlit.
Of which earlier there was room for risk, as these risks could lead to something big.
So he wasn't gaslighting
Or he made this trailer.
I had to make sure this movie was real I thought it was some kind of fever dream from my childhood
Just watched the movie again today. Still love it
One of the earliest movies I remember seeing on TV as a kid.
My favorite movie when i was young.. I loved the thought of having a cupboard like that, and my favorite toys coming alive. I used to have dreams of that happening 😅😊
Fun Fact: the director of this film is Frank Oz who helped Jim Henson create Sesame Street and the Muppets. Frank is the puppeteer and voice of Cookie Monster, Fozzie Bear, Miss Piggy, Bert, Grover, Animal, and Sam the Eagle. He is also the voice and puppeteer of Yoda in the Star Wars Films.
I remember when this came out and everyone I knew was so excited that there was going to be a movie where Darth Vader fought dinosaurs and he teams up with Robocop and it was going to be the best movie ever.
And then that scene lasts all of 30 seconds and none of us ever talked about it again.
But every scene with the living toys were amazing..
It was still an awesome 30 seconds lol
I remember watching this when I was 5 years old. I’m 20 now.
I remember watching this as a kid thinking there were little people hiding everywhere
I remember reading this book in Miss Allison's third grade class
Tbh I'm glad to be native American
shut up dances with bullshit
THIS WAS THE ONLY THING WE HAD IN THE 90S
Blessed##
@@cultfilmfreakreviews wow, how original.
HEYA HEYA HEYA HEYA HUYA HUYA HYUYA HEAH!!
This used to be one of my favourite movies as a kid. My mum recorded it on a video cassette and we would watch it every now and then and we discussed it in great detail. Seems that's where I got my foundation of being inquisitive. We had secret passwords for things named after characters in the movie. That time seems so long ago and yet, just like it was only yesterday. How I wish to go back. Those were the days.
This is my unforgettable childhood movie 🎥
The boy who cried Indian
" evereybody's so big!😭"
Surprised they didn't get Owen Wilson to play the cowboy.
Yeah I remember the VHS case came with a key and I had a little keyhole on the side like it was a cupboard and you could actually flip around the sleeve to make it look like a cupboard. But who still has their key I'm sure mine's lost forever. You tend to lose a lot of things as a kid lol.
Being 8 when the movie had come out was something special. I need to rewatch this again. It’s been a long minute.
OneyPlays brought me here lmao.
KK movie that enraged so many of my native friends. How dare you lock up Indians in cupboards.
Sometimes we all could use our own talking Native American toy to help us through the tough times in life.
Brett McKenzie much needed
I wish !!!!
RIP Lynne Reid Banks (1929-2024). Author of the book this film was adapted from.
Watched it when I was 4, I'll watch it in 2020.
Its on netflix as of today
My anime figurines would love this
"Omri cooks like a woman"
"Omri your a woman"
Lmao
Definitely one of my favorite movies as a kid
They really lumped the Iroquois in with Darth Vader and Robocop.
Oh, 90s, my sweet, summer children.
Talk about a throwback! I remember falling in love with the book in 5th grade. I want to say that was 96’.
This movie is so good so blessed to have seen it when it came out.
anyone else here after watching small soldiers and this popping up in your memory . re watching with my kids now.
That’s a classic baby 😎
''oh my dear sweet lord i need a drink''
''i will be with you when the sun rises''
''you said you take no more men you tell blind storys''
my favorite movie to watch growing up. after reading the series I'd kill for them to have done the others as movies.
One minuscule line I always remembered as a kid and still do as an adult was when the kid would say “IT’S PLAZTEC” instead of Plastic.
It always stood out to me and I still jokingly call plastic ‘Plastec’ to this day lol
I legit watched it yesturday in netflix
I always wanted to see this as a kid but never did. I'm so glad you said it's on Netflix. I'm watching it right now!
Super underrated movie!
Feel good, classic, awesome!
This my joint right here
I’ve found some memories that was stored deep within my core
Imagine if he put a Kurt cobain action figure in there .
90s kids are very cultured we had Indian movies, Irish movies etc
one of the only times imma thank my dad for something. yo dad thanks for making me watch this when i was a kid
Loved this when I was a kid
a classic from my childhood
I still got the toy version of him and he sits in my movie cabinet since 1996
I can believe I remember seeing this preview in the theater.
I finally saw this movie on vhs, in 2005 , when I was in college.
Holy crap. I forgot all about this movie but now I suddenly remember that I watched it several times.
Me too😁
The Golden Era of movies.
The first movie i ever loved, back when i was 5 years old and then 2nd "the iron giant".. brings alot of memories.. 😭😭😭😭 .. man, i'm crying inside.. haha 😁😁🤘🤘🔥🔥😆😆
I had this on VHS but it was recorded off tv I loved this movie
I remember this movie. I forgot how much product placement there was. I didn't expect Robocop to show up as one of the toys.
One of my favorite movies as a kid
I ask wife if she's seen this she thought it was talking about a gay Indian
synl 88 😆😆
lmfao
Zayn and Gigi brought me here
👋
This movie blew my mind as kid, the idea of toys coming to life
Wow early nineties. Massive movie back when I was curiously fond to learn my surroundings!
0:44 when your classmate tells everyone he has a small Indian man in a wooden box at home
Man I’m 29 and this is my childhood 😂
This movie was one of my favourites as a kid
Broke: The Indian in the cupboard
Woke: The boy who cried Indian
I’m so proud of Yuri ! 😁
Great lessons to be learnt from this movie 😆
"You should not do magic _you do not understand!"_
_There's_ the PSA.
I've been looking for this movie since I was a little kid! It was on a VHS tape my brother recorded over with this and Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie but it didn't record the title. I loved this movie. I must buy it.
Best movie ever growing up!!!!😎
My class just finished the book and are going to watch the movie
