    I exfoliate first with a loofa, then shave with conditioner, which definitely softens the hair. I definitely recommend dabbing the area with rubbing alcohol after which kills bacteria and closes your pores.Then I use deodorant after to prevent chafing and razor bumps. Just some extra tips :)

      Does it work

    • @DeeFightingDreamer
      @DeeFightingDreamer 3 роки тому

      @@allyd1544 Honestly can't tell you lol. I don't even remember watching this video or actually using any of the tips. What I do is I'm extremely careful and take my time. It is never perfect and I always seem to miss a patch, but fuck it. I trim first, then lather the area in baby oil (I currently have one with aloe vera, couldn't recommend more!) which softens the hair and skin. Then apply a fairly thick layer of gentle shaving cream and I use Wilkinson razors - I've found they work the best as I buy the multi-pack versions. Never understood the deal with having one razor and buying new blades, dunno why. After shaving, I apply a generous amount of any gentle body cream or anything you deem appropriate. Hope I helped at least a little bit :) I feel like all of us have to sort of find what works for us best.
      (also, don't be ashamed or whatever and just use a mirror when reaching down, and try various poses. Don't make it harder on yourself)
      ((also also, I still get tiny razor burns from time to time but I feel like it's nearly impossible to not get them :/))

  • @Luckywynne
    @Luckywynne 6 років тому +325

    Actually, I recently learned that razors with multiple blades cause MORE irritation than single blade razors. Each time you go over the skin it's multiplied by 6 (in this case), rather than just one pass for one razor. I just switched over to a double-edged safety razor and it's AMAZING! Just have to learn to be more careful and slow when shaving because the blade is very effective and sharp. :)

      I tried a 2 blade (i usually use one with like 4 or 5) and it was painful and rough. I went back because it feels better and is easier. Just keep it moisturized. I'd need some like actual evidence to go back not just something that sounds right..

    • @Luckywynne
      @Luckywynne 6 років тому +6

      Melody There are several articles online that you can read to research the topic, but here's one of the top results for searching "double edged vs cartridge razor": www.knownman.com/safety-razor-vs-cartridge-razors/

    • @_.A_M._
      @_.A_M._ 6 років тому +2

      vivaLucci ~ well I honestly i think it depends on for one your body type (sensitive vs normal) two how thick or course your hairs are, and three how long you wait to shave, 2 blades personally doesn't work for me ,when it comes to shaving I take it really cautiously, because the pain is real. Otherwise, I still end up with bad results, but more blades is a better result 'for me' because it causes less irritation because I don't have take the blade over my skin as often as I would with the 2 blades.👍

    I shave with shea butter, and a fresh blade after a long shower or bath. I also use those mens razors made from yogurt cups (I get mine from natural grocers) They work so so so well... the only one I can use that won't irritate me down there, since the moisturizing strip is super pure, and gentle on your skin. I also wear a skirt/dress (a long one!) or sweatpants commando after. Or at least wear comfy underwear that isn't lacey. I try not to put anything on there afterwards- I'll usually get irritated if I do. Sometimes a gentle toner (like witch hazel) helps if you feel like you need it. I have rosacea, and super sensitive skin, so I always used to have problems. It took years of trial and error to finally find a method that worked for me. Kind of TMI, but I hope that helped someone! Mainly just be careful and gentle, like she said.

    When I haven't shaved in a while I usually don't get razor bumps or anything. it will be like the best shave ever. the upkeep is what I have a problem with. but lately I've been exfoliating really well after I shave (they will tell you to exfoliate daily if you get a Brazilian too, to prevent the pores from being clogged) And then I put coconut oil down there and I don't get any in grown hairs or bumps.

    My opinion with the deodorant is that it helps because it prevents bacteria from developing, since it's a humid spot a lot of the time and red bumps are usually little infections.
    Although for me I've learned with my body that a razor cannot touch my "down there" area 😂 no matter what I do, and I've tried a lot of pre, post, during shaving methods, waxing, ingrown hair just comes at me 😜 My best method is electric razor downwards and RARELY side ways. It's not smooth but I'm at that point where I don't care anymore, I'd rather have it not smooth than have red bumps everywhere :)

    I use a shaver on my face, and clippers set two around 1/32 nds of inch on my face and below that. I get ingrown hairs to easy to want to use a shaver below the collar line usually. Of Course because of clothing rubbing on my skin. I would shave with a razor if good enough a reason to below the collar line.

    The reason that the deodorant helps with bumps is it kills bacteria living on your skin (how it keeps BO away) and so there are less microbes to infect the minuscule cuts that the razor causes. I always put rubbing alcohol on my legs and armpits after I shave. When you put rubbing alcohol on your underarms it also reduces BO.

    shaving downwards is a better option so the next day when the hair starts to grow back it doesn't itch.
    I used to shave upwards b4 and then the next day, it would get really itchy so now i shave downwards and then apply baby oil to soothe it too.

    Over here in England those 'nice' razors with the moisture bars and 5 blades are the norm. They're what everywhere sells most and what people use most. I just thought they were normal razors I'd heard of disposables but I didn't think you could get reusable razors that were any less 'nice'. They're really cheap here too like £2 for a pack of 3 xx

      Pastel Ella ikr razors in england are so cheap but to amazing! I buy a pack of 4 for about £3 and they have aloe vera in the lubricant strip and shave really close.

    I keep getting bumps after I shave, even if it's a baby smooth shave. It sucks.

    I recommend Schick razor which is flexible to the skin not cutting off the skin.
