I love the look of the stock Fat Boy exhaust this generation. So much so I'm looking at just using the HD street cannons so I can keep the factory heatshields on it because so many other slip ons are too short for the heat shields.
The Supertrapp style muffler with the adjustable plates are great for performance. They do a very good job at stopping reversion and maximizing power. The only downside for many of us is that they are quiet, but that is what you are looking for, so that would be perfect on your M8.

I have Cobra 3" slip ons on my 2016 Sportster. I put the baffles in backwards so the openings are facing the oncoming gasses, and it has quieted it down more than the "extra quiet" baffles did. I have DK K&N intake with a bypass to route the crankcase gasses away from the intake. I'd like it a little quieter, but usually, when I ride in a group I'm not the loudest bike, and I'm good with that. @@DKCustomProducts When looking at the removeable baffles, the inside tube is full of little scoops. They were all facing backwards, so I removed the baffle, drilled a new mounting hole, and installed them with the little scoops facing the oncoming exhaust gasses, do direct the sound energy into the fiberglass. Ok what's the best 2 into one system for a sportster with forward controls for power in y'all's opinion? Btw the thunder torque inserts killed the reversion from my baffleless stock system.>
I don't know if they are still being made, but you can probably find 1 on ebay or looking around. The Patriot Defender has consistently out-performed other options.
You mentioned the Thunderheader I have one on my RS, it is a custom fit, now do TH had the inversion problem as well and if so how do I put the TTI on it? Thanks!
Yes, it responds well to the TTI's. In the early years of the Thunder Torque Inserts™ we thought that some of the high performance, expensive pipes, would certainly have some good anti-reversion built in to them, thus not really benefitting from the TTI's. But we had several Customers try it anyway in their Thunderheaders and they had good, solid increases in low and mid range torque. So we then did some testing and found that while they are a great pipe, they still suffer from reversion. Over the years we have found only two types of pipes on motorcycles that do not get a benefit from the TTI's: 1. Stock pipes that are very baffled...ones that have a plug in them. They will get a very small benefit from the TTI, but not enough to make a difference you can feel. 2. SuperTrapp disc style pipes. The exhaust that has a stake of discs at the very end of the muffler. These discs stop reversion just like the TTI's do.
@@miked903 It all depends on what bike you have...year and model. M8's are fine to do that with no tune. It is best to get a tune on a Sporty and a Twin Cam, even if you are bone stock. However, on a Sporty and a Twin Cam, if you leave the restrictive stock air cleaner on and add free flowing exhaust, you are not really going to be worse off than in stock condition, tune wise. At minimum, stock or with exhaust, on a Sporty or Twin Cam, we recommend using one of the plug-n-play IED's at the link below. What do you guys think are some of the best performing full exhaust I was thinking of getting the v&h big radius? I already have the the Thunder torque inserts on my current drag pipes and they have made such an amazing improvement my face hurt from smiling so much I'm going to transfer the tti's to the big radius I'm just curious as to what you guys thing ar ether best performing exhaust.
What is seen on the dyno vs. what is actually felt while riding can be different. Most 2-1 systems will dyno out better, as will some 2-1-2 system, but most folks cannot tell the difference, since the power increase is relatively small. The biggest change, that can be felt while riding, is to get rid of the restrictive nature of the OEM slip-ons, and supplement them with TTI's. You don't say what year and model bike you have, but a 2-1 system, like a Thunderheader is going to give a small noticeable increase over drag pipes with TTI's. Not sure you will notice the difference with the big radius and TTI's over your current set up...it may sound better and/or look better, but doubtful you will get a noticeable power increase.
Honestly any exhaust will perform like a monster with the thunder torque inserts! So I'm gonna go with the v&h big radius with the tti's it will have all three qualities looks sounds and performance.
We're pretty swamped with making parts. Every now and then, during the winter, we'll do an installation here and there. Give the shop a call. 662-252-8828. We are 45 minutes outside of Memphis, TN.
What we need is a shop with just about every slip on available, so we can go in ,let them swap until we find just the right one. As for entire exhaust, that would be an issue. Our triglide came with V & H tru duals, I had to put baffles in them , it was rattling the fillings out of our teeth at 80 mph. Now, I'm not happy with the sound.
That would be a great shop...dunno how they could stay in biz, but it would be toy store for figuring out what one liked best for their bike. Glad you got what you were looking for in exhaust.
@@DKCustomProducts ,not really, I want a deeper tone, can't afford to purchase slip on's until I find it. So,I have to keep this until. Now I have to figure out how to get them tightened so they don't leak, always something. 😎✌🇺🇲

I find it so interesting to me that people spend so much money on these bikes, to get the sound just right and to satisfy that inner beast etc. only to end up buying a road glide or street glide with a big huge fairing on it and fill it with the maximum amount of stereo covering up all of the sweet sound that those pipes are going to make? Doesn’t make any sense to me at all. For me that’s why I purchased a Road King Standard simply because I didn’t want anything but engine and pipes😀👍❤️
Good sound you've got to get a header do away with the cat piece of shit and get some decent mufflers I personally like for the 114 a Cobra head pipe with Chrome Werks muffs.
That's an exhaust that a lot of folks like. They benefit really nicely from the addition of the Thunder Torque Inserts™ at this link- www.dkcustomproducts.com/thunder-torque-inserts-c57-235.htm
Another thing you can do is buy some cheap exhaust on eBay and experiment with different things to change the sound. I took some fish pipes and cut the ends off stuck them in a set of slip-ons with baffles to make it a straight pipe. They didn't go all the way in so part of the baffle was still being used. It had a nice snappy straight pipe sound without being too loud. You can also take the baffle out, cut the fiberglass insulation off of it, wrap the baffle in muffler tape, then rewrap the fiberglass insulation on it. That is what I am going to try on these sharkroad pipes. Then I am going to install the thunder inserts in the end. I will only have like 240 bucks in the whole thing.
@@DKCustomProducts on my 2012 twin cam I ran the fish pipes noticed a little loss torque. So I bought some 4.5 in cheapo slip-ons with baffles. Hated the sound, like super trapps, lol. So I cut the fish pipes off. Stuck the straight pipes in and bolted them inside the baffles. It gave it a snappy straight pipe sound. Really increase the torque on the low-end. So I have an idea on my new M8. Going to wrap the baffle without the fiberglass with aluminum muffler tape to give it more of a straight flow. Then I will wrap the fiberglass back around the baffle. Reinstall it. With the thunder device. I'm guessing it will give it a little louder straight pipe sound. A little better flow. Although smooth pipe would be better. I'll get it dynoed at bike week and let you know how it turns out.

Thanks love you guys and and love the products very high quality!
Honestly any exhaust will perform like a monster with the thunder torque inserts! So I'm gonna go with the v&h big radius with the tti's it will have all three qualities looks sounds and performance.
@@HHPH28 Sounds like a good plan you've got!
@@HHPH28 Thanks man! We appreciate your business & support! Thanks for watching!
Do you guys do installations and are y’all located anywhere near Atlanta?
We're pretty swamped with making parts. Every now and then, during the winter, we'll do an installation here and there. Give the shop a call. 662-252-8828.
We are 45 minutes outside of Memphis, TN.
Exhausting 😜
hahahaha, good one. lol
😎✌🇺🇲
@@kevingleason5434 You will get a bit deeper tone in your existing exhaust by putting the TTI's in them. If you want a much deeper tone, enjoy the search!
We are all different, that is for sure.
Nice thing about Harley's is that each one can be modded (or not) to fit each individuals particular desires.
Good sound you've got to get a header do away with the cat piece of shit and get some decent mufflers I personally like for the 114 a Cobra head pipe with Chrome Werks muffs.
Thanks for your comment. 👍
Bassini Road Rage 2 into 1
That's an exhaust that a lot of folks like.
That sounds like an interesting experiment! Hope it turns out well for you, both sound & power wise. 👍
@0%9F%91%8Del/UCXTqZSeZdA1Tz6bjqnIe2mw Cool! Would love to see the torque curve without and then with the Thunder Torque Inserts.
OK says the m8 at the end listen to me again 🥃🍔
Tried to duplicate another guy’s rides look but he said his ol’ lady only rode with him 😇
hahaha. Be careful. 😂
Hey ! I was expecting the girl on the intro screen to do the narrative. I was so disappointed to see you two ol farts !
Even "IF " you think you picked the right sound, the right look and performance... There will always be someone ride by ya that has it better !
Hey! We would have like that too....but we could not afford her. 😃 Yeah, unless you have a pan or a shovel, there is likely to always be a better sounding ride, BUT, with a little research you can get the sound you're looking for.
