I like trains nearly all the time, but the WES right now is a half baked plan. What it needs is an express service from Salem to Beaverton, because right now its ridership is too low, and its a little too slow.
It does need to go to Salem. It's odd that line isn't in place. There must be enough people in the Salem area that would take this train, considering the horrible traffic from Salem to Portland.
US Railcar took over the assets of Colorado Railcar in 2009, however they haven't had any orders for the single level DMUs since then, making these cars unique to this operation (for now).
Thanks! I'd disagree on the account that buses in general don't attract the same ridership trains do. The people who use it would be far less likely to leave their car at home for a bus instead of a train. However, I will agree that the route doesn't offer a lot of potential. They need to expand it to actually reach places that people want to go (Salem or possibly even into Portland Union Station via Lake Oswego and Milwaukie).
Still better than buses like the 96. I swear, WES is sooo fun to ride!! Plus, The Price's are about the same. I used to ride it all the time 2 Years ago!! It would be easier for me to go to Salem on WES. Then I don't have to worry about running my ass to the 1X anymore & I get to stay in longer. Again, WES is sooo much better than the damn 96 cause buses are boring asf. I used to love buses sm but I lost interest on them since May 2019
Them K3LAs 😩👌🏻
SEPTA uses em too
Correct! They are wonderful sounding horns...
The horns are Nathan K3s

Yeah but where would the station be
I think there's another company offering identical DMUs. American Railcar maybe?

@@HighIronProductions I hope they get orders for DMUs! Or, maybe a larger manufacturer will buy their design and start making them.
I like the budd rdc more in my opinion
Yea, it looks wierd how the front and rear aren’t the same
@@NotJeremy_ i wish the budd rdc was re released
As much as I like trains this is dumb idea, use a bus instead. There is not enough business to justify the cost! Great photography btw.
