Dude I've watched i know 70 to 100 videos on what to build for my ducks I love the way you talk I love the way you explain stuff I love how you're not thinking you're an expert cuz I'm like you I like to build but I don't know what the hell I'm doingI do it on my own also and my brain but I love this idea and this is exactly what I'm going to build for my dogs I think you did an awesome job thumbs up
I think it’s wonderful that you don’t let your lack of experience in your youth, (when most men get their beginnings in building and creating with wood and metalwork), hold you back. I love it!
Lol I feel you on the building thing... no idea if I’m doing right but damn it it’s mine! Lol. I just posted a video of the small reptile room I built in our garage and it’s still standing so I take that as a win!! Nice job man, thanks for sharing!
yea it does feel good when you do it yourself. Going to see if I can find a small window I can install in the front next to the duck door so they can get some natural light in. Love finding all these little projects. Today I picked up another fridge so time to build another incubator because I outgrew the old one :)
Could you post all the supplies you bought bc that la the same size I want and I’m kinda like you God knows I’m not a builder my measuring is like you did the door wide inside with pencil. Lol but could you comment all supplies you used size and all of possibly. Thanks bro
Very nice duck house. Maybe if I watch it a few times I my gain enough confidence to give it a try... going to have to, the ducklings are getting too big for my tub. So, uh... just ask for the flimsy plastic thing at Lowes? My big problem is I don't have anything but a hand saw...
I believe Duckhouse 2.0 is much better... I feel ya on the anxiety relief. I get in building mode and next thing ya know. ...Masterpiece. Lol... With the little openings on the sides of the roof. I think your ok unless you have wiesels.... Those boogers are sneaky and can fit just about anywhere!!! You did a great job on it brother!!!
Omg, your first decision (roof idead) was way better, are you gonna put AC for the hot summer months if not that's gonna be a Dutch over, the smells is gonna be bad for the ducks & whomever gotta clean it, also yah will smell those fumes walkin in & out of that area 😆😂🤣 Add window on top of the doorway, keep original roof options & add chicken wires on sides of new roof (better alternative as planned in original idea). That little 2-inch opening you got there isn't gonna ventilate shit 🤣 It's covered by two areas of wide & covered wood, amazing work, but would you wanna live in it with no windows, AC/ventilation & a bunch of other ducks & their hot shit, pee & breath all over you 😆 add original idea 😂Can you add dimensions & supply list of your original idea 🤣 Great Job, stay blessed, thx 🌻
You did a nice job, and have a really good attitude. I love DIY projects, but am no carpenter either. Rescued a wild mallard duckling and just picked up some friends for the little guy. The clock is ticking on building a duck house. Good luck with yours!
Correct toe nail. Well toe screw lol you doing great im a roofer/carpenter ...if this helps ive seen way way worse bro id hire you... Are you gonna insulate it for winter and probably keep cool in summer
I dont know, I was thinking about that but from what i understand is ducks do really well with cold, and the coop should only be slightly warmer the outside temps so when they go from the coop to outside its not a big change in temps. If its warm in the coop and then freezing outside its a shock to their body so i dont think i need to insulate, but we will see.
I think you should put the chicken wire cause of snakes.. Ironic I'm saying that to you but here I am saying it, lol I probably don't know what I am talking about but it was my 1st thought when I saw it..
Chris Graham please put a strong hardware cloth, (that thick wire mesh with small gaps), in every single possible gap that you don’t even expect can be wiggled open. There’s snakes to consider as well as rodents, long arms of raccoons, possums and critters you may never even know of! I’ve seen too many horror stories on poultry Facebook groups to make me wonder what on earth I was thinking to get any birds. When you have children it’s even more important they don’t lose a bird to predators.
GREAT BUILD BUT YOU'VE GOT THEM SHOVED UP IN A CORNER WITH NO VENTILATION, THE WIND CANNOT BLOW UP IN THERE. YES YOU SHOULD COVER THE HOLES ON EITHER SIDE OF YOUR ROOF, RATS CAN GET ACCESS. HOPE THAT PLASTIC IS FOOD GRADE! TC TTYL
Yea because in the wild when they seek shelter they choose a 2 bed 2 bath with large bay windows. They also love aroma therapy candles on their night stands
I am so glad I found this video. It was easy to understand and excellent workmanship. Thank you for explaining everything in a simple way

I said my dogs but I meant my six ducks

For that stump you've got that won't die, cut it off a little above the ground and paint the freshly cut stump with diesel.
Nice job Chris! Looking to build one of these myself in the next month or so. Appreciate you posting this. You just got a new subscriber.

In terms of framing, it's really not so bad, I'd have done much the same, really.
Looks good.

KY KonstrictorZ and Exotics thanks man. At this point the only think im missing is a pair of overalls! #farmergraham
Awesome job Chris! Thank you so much for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Now this seriously helped.

Put hardware cloth on the vents so snakes don’t get in for those eggs

Thanks, you too!
Well you sure helped me out im not a handyman builder either but im sure I can build this myself great video thanks for sharing
Glad I could help
its funny how your doing this and i just making up my mind if i should go do construction. anyway cool duck house .
Looks great..... and so does the coop ;)
Thanks 😊
Do you have weasels in your area? If so I would put hardware cloth over the vent area
I love the house and I understand everything your saying😀
This is super helpful, thanks!

@@Chris_Graham oh ok i didn't know that ...you taught me something today ... Cool never had ducks

I probably will put it, i think i was just being lazy and wanted to just finish the project lol
@@Chris_Graham There's nothing lazy about you.. Oh btw, when will you update us on Josh's progress?

Snakes can easily go through chicken wire, use hardware cloth if you are worried about it.
More build content! Love it.
we should build a house together on top of a mountain!
Thanks! I’m getting ducks and want to be prepared for when they grown up. Oh, and are White Layers loud?
they will grow up very fast! and i'm still new to ducks too so i'm not sure how loud they are
Chris Graham ducks are loud. ::sigh:: Yep, ducks are loud. My duckling even talks in her sleep.
Great job dude killed the build 👍🏼👍🏼
Thank you
You did awesome
Thank you!

calm down... the ducks will be fine
@@rqndlin the summertime they will need lots of ventilation
Sweet
Nice Quack Shack
No windows? So it’s a sensory deprivation chamber for ducks.
Yea because in the wild when they seek shelter they choose a 2 bed 2 bath with large bay windows. They also love aroma therapy candles on their night stands
Lol, I’m a builder like you, Just wing that shit!!!
Put chicken wire there for just in case. Can snakes get in there? The way ducks eat their own poop I would keep rats out.😊
Good job, but it needs waaaay more ventilation!!
So, a snake can’t just eat the full size ducks but they still can kill them in an attempt on eating them. So it’s up to you but I’d probably put wire
you look like GTA 5 trevor
I also have no building experience
