  • PACIFIC TREE FROG AND MOREL MUSHROOM WALKING STICK carved by Mike Stinnett.
It's morel mushroom season here, and I got to thinking it would be a lot of fun to make a morel mushroom walking stick with a little frog on top. I carved it from a single piece of Lodgepole Pine. (TOOL LINKS BELOW)

Just wonderful Mike, and the fun you have with little Pearl is great to watch. This is such a different subject to carve and although a frog is a fairly simple shape, and you think it will be easy to carve, what you end up with is so pleasing and as you walked off at the end I can see you may be thinking that this is your new best stick to use for yourself, like that idea Mike? Best regards to you and family and little Pearl from John in England.

The frog was fun to make. I thought about keeping that stick, but decided to sell it, and let someone else enjoy walking with it. It's more fun for me to share them with others, than to keep them for myself. I hope you are having a wonderful spring!

A walk in the woods, Pearl finds a chipmunk, you find morels and frogs, and then show us your sublime skill with sculpting and jeweler's wax, then the incredible carving. I learned so much just watching, I can feel the smooth surfaces after the paint goes on. Wow!!!! *bow of deepest respect* Thank you for sharing your incredible gifts with us! He looked so real he was a little scary. Thank you for making videos too. And Pearl is so cute, wagging her tail and digging and found wagging. She's a very good sweet dog. Keep carving for us.
