Hi Evan, that hotel room design is actually very common. I think the idea is, when you enter the room, you put the room card in the slot and the room powers up. When you leave, take the room card and the room powers down. You don't need to use your room card when you are in the room.
交子,是中国北宋时四川省流通的纸币,是世界上最早“正式”发行的钞票。"Jiaozi, a form of paper currency circulated in Sichuan Province during the Northern Song Dynasty of China, is the world's earliest 'officially' issued banknote."
We can order any bullion you’d like. We are getting out of retail jewelry since our expert retired and are not keeping much inventory on hand due to market swings and low margins when we sell it.
I went to China 3 times between 2007 and 2009. They had a REAL problem with Counterfeiting their 100 Yuan Notes. The 50 Yuan too, but not as much. It was really bad. I even caught one from an ATM (which was considered impossible). Then the real problem is figuring out what to do with one if you get stuck, and you will get stuck. Every Tourist is automatically a target. They also used almost no coins. Did the displays have English? I would love to see that my next time in China, but if it is only in Chinese, it will be unlikely, unless they have translators that I can easily use.
@@teholympian Wow, still carrying cash around? How quaint! I thought everyone switched to WeChat and Alipay ages ago. Feels like you're living in a bygone era. 🤣
Get AliPay set up and have an itinerary/idea where you want to go. Don’t wing it. Do some reading about the country before hand too. Don’t bother consuming media outside of travel blogs as I found commercial media inaccurate and biased
If you just want to come and play, be bold. Land and find a police officer, in China police officers are kind to foreigners, if your chosen destination is Shanghai, congratulations, don't worry about anything, because Shanghai is the city with the highest popularity of English, you can easily find someone to help you. About what to pay, travel plan, other related issues, if you don't want to go on the internet to prepare, land on the police, there is a saying in China: if something happens, look for the police.
If you leave us to live in China I wouldn't blame you, you could be rich and a celebrity there for the rest of your life. You would just have to figure out a stable income if you close your shop.
The reason you have to pull out your room card when leaving the hotel is to help to conserve energy, It's pretty much like that in most Asian countries, like Taiwan, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Bangkok , some hotel would activate extra card for that to keep the AC running if requested by customers, but you can beat it by using a credit card instead, just be sure you put up the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door to prevent the house keeping crew see it, it will work in most hotel😁
The copper coin they gave you is likely quite valuable. Considering the size of this coin, which is rather uncommon-most copper coins are much smaller-and the clarity of the text on it, this should be a highly valuable keepsake.

This is a norm in Europe. But normally when the card is in the slot it is still able to be affected by the light switch.
Yo man! I’m Conor I’m here at the the bar with tall robert at the bar told me to follow you!

I went to your place a week ago, I wish you would've had some gold bullion or jewelry.

Appreciate you stopping by however! Sorry I missed you!
Evan literally went to his Disney Land.

Yes, displays in English, and tech is making it so even if I can’t read, my phone easily can.
@@EvanKail kinda what I figured for the tech.

What’s your one piece of advice for a foreigner visiting China?

Genius, a masterclass in eco-innovation! Why not try it in your country first?
@@Jessie-j6c9j I would if given the chance but I have not seen it like that in the hotel I rented when I was in California last time.
