I listen to this every morning. Im 2 years clean of meth, 3 years clean of heroin, 1 year clean of coke, and 9 months sober from a half gallon of whiskey a day. I honestly can relate to this. Every day I'm greatlul for that i don't use or drink. Edit: Thank you for all the love. You are all my inspiration to stay sober. I love you all ❤❤ I honestly didn't know how much love and support I'd get from you all. Thank you all for the kind words and support! I wish i could just meet you all and give each and every one of you a big hug. I love you all! ❤❤👊☺❤🤗
@@poppyd9758 Yes! A thousand times yes! When you get sober, it makes your "friends" question their alcohol/substance use. 99% of the time they aren't ready to stop...then blame YOU for not being fun anymore. No one in that group really cared about my health. Got new friends now.
Alcoholic with 140 days sober today. That line “I’m finally someone that I know again” makes me choke up a bit. Rehab was the best decision I ever made.

You can do it I promise.. the first days are the fuc&ing worse. It does get better a little more everyday.. hell you got 4 days clean!! Be proud darling do you know how amazing that is?? Most can’t even do a day! See your stronger than you think !! I don’t know if you believe in God but pray he will help. God will never put on you more than you can handle that’s a promise it’s in the Bible. So you can beat this! It’s only the devil trying to keep you down he wants you to keep taking until you lose it all then your life.. Remember it can’t always be bad. You gotta hit the ground sometimes but guess what ? That’s when you bounce back up!! Never forget that. God be with you and I wish the best for you!
Stay strong, Tom’s music is great for recovering, passion and motivation 👌 keep pushing every day, focus on tomorrow because it’s an opportunity to do better 🤘
Cheering you on. I was strung out for 3 years on meth. Please know in your heart of hearts that the depression and all things related to WD are a temporary thing. Stay strong, it can (and will) be done.

Hang in there brother. I just got my own place too got all my kids. I'm blessed I hope no one knows this pain. But I know more will. And some won't or can't get help..
Hi Tom. I’m an alcoholic. And thanks to your song. It inspired me to stop drinking. And get a better hold on my life. I have 2 beautiful kids and an amazing partner and the last thing I want is to lose them because of my drinking. Thank you for an amazing song to help me turn my life around.
I have been sober from IV heroin addiction for 6 yrs now 🎉❤😊 I prayed to Jesus to please scare me away from the 💉!!! The next day I sat there for hrs and I didn't prick myself once and NEVER again after that 🎉!!! Please my brothers and sisters in Christ who are suffering please turn to Jesus! For me, the hard times i went through with addictions and traumas brought me to Jesus! Usually, we find him at rock bottom! I survived all those OD's and scary situation's because God has a plan for me...Just like he has with all of you! God bless and know that its NEVER to late to turn to Christ no matter what you have done! 💯 Repent in Jesus name every night! Pray for your enemies because it brings them to the light! If i can do this i promise anyone can!! God bless you all ❤❤❤
Amen sister, praise God, I'm so glad he healed you and that your doing good, may he always bless you and protect you, I'm currently trying to get off weed and cigarettes for good, please pray for me🙏
What do you mean only 2 days? Addiction 2 days or 2 years is a step towards being sober. Never been a addict but ive watched people suffer lose their kids and watched someone i loved be put in the ground cause of their addiction. I wosh they were able to say they were 2 days sober.
Heroin was my demon, I struggled for 5 year’s. It took me longer to mend relationships with family, & friends because I lost my self while taking them with me. My mom passed away it took me then to open my eyes to her wise words I needed to be the women I am today. Addictions are hard but you’re always bigger then those demons.

Yeap. I have over 10 years. This song is so inspiring I want to relapse so I can get fight to get clean again. 😁 Honestly, I miss selling as much as using. It was every bit as hard for me to give up too. I tried so hard to rationalize still doing it sober. Telling myself I could handle it now and would make even more money not putting it all up my nose.. even though I'd done it several times, and most definitely could *not* handle it.. ✌✌
You nailed it!!! This shit brings me right back to the day I put the needle down. I remember those demons coming out of me and playing this over and over. This song is a masterpiece for what it is. I don’t even listen to rap, but this is a masterpiece. I look back and can’t believe the shit I used to do and how far I’d go to get what I needed.

Drinking cost me a 17 year relationship, my dignity, pride, self respect and almost my life. 1 year and 159 days later and I'm still counting days... but I'm also still breathing. Instead of counting Tallboys I'm counting reps in the gym. Instead of running from my problems I'm running miles. I don't have millions of dollars. Hell, I don't even have that many friends. But, for the first time in almost 2 decades I'm proud of who I am and where I'm headed. At 40 years old you could say half my life is behind me. I say the better half lies ahead.
Life only has one gear and that's drive. If you don't have a Reverse gear you might as well not think about going back in time. Keep it in Drive and live the way that brings you happiness and love yourself because you just did the near impossible by escaping hell. Keep it up Ramsay happy to hear your story and the changes you've made!!
Brother, keep moving forward. There are always more reasons to keep going than there are to give up. Stay strong and true to yourself, and you will never fail. It never get easier, and it never goes away, but I think you have realize that you are stronger than your addictions and that you can make the right choices. Keep being that example the next person in your shoes will need.
1st day sober from opiates, my god the depression, loneliness, constant tears of guilt with no change, the sweats, restless legs, hurting my loved ones, pushing them ALL away, and yet here I am. Never thought it'd be me, I was supposed to be a marine... Drugs kill, but god heals!
Hey Tom. My name is Adam, I’ve been dealing with social anxiety my whole life. I’ve dealt with overwhelming shame and felt like I never belong. Your music is helping me find my voice and embrace who I am instead of running from him. This song is my anthem, I’ve cried to it multiple times because it gives me power that I haven’t had on my own and your bravery opening up about your issues is helping me do the same. This is allowing me to own who I am and release all the bullshit shame I’ve been dealing with. Love you brother keep doing what you’re doing you’re helping people for sure!
Adam, there certainly is something truly amazing that takes place , when you hear music that comes from truth . Your inner knowing resonates so profoundly , it just sneaks up on you , and you realise that you have introduce yourself to Man who you now are . The letting go of all those things from the Man you thought you were , easily occurs when you are the Man you are today. To be in the present is never achieved by some . It takes bravery to release. To be or not to be that is the Question. I figured out To be is the answer, just like you have my friend.
GOOOD JOB my buddy you dont need any of that BULLSHIT KEEPUP GOOD WORK AND DONT LET NO ONE TAKE YOU DOWN IM SOBER 8 YEARS AND I LOVE GREAT STORYS LIKE THIS GOD BLESS

This song hit home, started drinking when I was 17 and deal with depression. I drank for 17 years daily. Suicide attempts, mental breakdowns, showing up to work drunk, constantly hung over, drinking before I could leave the house to see anyone, my addiction was part of me for so long. I just hit my one year sobriety in April, this song gives me hope to keep going on the hard days. Edit: Thank you so much for all your kind words and support! It means so much!

Hi Tom I am a therapist and I am contacting you because I have just come across your incredibly passionate, well timed, powerful testimonies regarding many important issues. I work with homeless men struggling with addiction and mental health issues and they continually told me to check out this rapper that talks about real life issues and doesn’t glamorize evil. As a disabled veteran and heart transplant recipient I found more insight and wisdom in your poetry than I have in many other areas. God bless you and your family 🕊

Addiction is so alienating that something as simple as a song by somebody who relates to you and knows your pain can give you enough strength to pull yourself out of the hole you're in.......
Just a month ago he was shitting on mac lethal for his sobriety and drug addiction. Made fun of people who can't drink because they might fall back into worse habits. It wasn't just mac that he shit on; it was all of us.

@@joshuaschultz6012 Im not dick riding because I dislike toms bs. I couldn't care much less for mac lethals shit. It can exist or not without mattering to me. I just think shitting on "the type" of people with drug addiction issues and then not long later making this is telling of how fake the dude is. @@lawrenceshdow I can see where you're coming from but if you know anything about dis tracks / battle rap you know that nothing is off limits. You try to cut as deep as you can even if it doesn't follow your belief system. Regardless you have the right to feel as you feel and I respect that. What I have an issue with is that when someone says that the have felt alienated and that this song helped them feel like they are not alone, that is not the time to try and take that away with your beliefs. Have a little compassion and know that your words do have an effect.

This was the first song of Toms that I ever listened to. My dad sent it to me back in April of 2020 after he got out of jail . He relapsed with alcohol not long after . 2 years later he took his life . The time that he was sober he was SO PROUD of himself and of course as his daughter I was too but that’s the thing with addiction it sneaks back up on you at any time . Lost my stepmom to her alcohol addiction in 2019 . Even though I’ve never struggled myself I’ve seen what addiction does to people and it is not pretty . My point is if you’re struggling hopefully you get the help you need before it’s too late because NOBODY should have bury their parents, friends, children because of addiction yet it is all too common
I know it's hard, it'll be the hardest thing you will ever do, you just gotta take it one day at a time. I was a heroin addict for 6 years. I never thought sobriety was possible, I thought I would die a heroin addict. I stole from friends and family, from the time I would wake up, until the time I would pass out heroin was my only focus. I have been sober for 8 years now, and I am still paying for some of the things I did. Good luck with your sobriety. It'll be the best decision you'll ever make.

My comment was- UA-cam: trolls everywhere Tom's comment section: bliss, love and much more. Still got haters replying lol. But hey, we need balance in life. Someones gotta be the troll.
Jorden Berger I guess I’m the troll then if I’m just being honest I thought this song was awful I mean I like toms messaging but the reason for all the positive comments on UA-cam is because people know who tom is but in reality no one cares for him or his music besides his fan base so the only ones clicking on his videos really are his fans, this is their little “safe space” in a way not a lot of haters just toms fans enjoying his music together. I don’t think Tom is a bad rapper but I definitely feel he is too repetitive and contradictory for my liking. - thoughts from the troll

I lost my husband to alcoholism . He was 42 yrs. old . He simply didn't have the strength to overcome it . My heart goes out to everyone battling addiction / depression . Love to all ❤
I'm so sorry. :( * hugs* My dad struggled with alcoholism (and smoking) and managed to get sober after many years but still had an addiction to sleeping pills because of his insomnia. People can be so cruel to people who struggle with addiction when the cause/starting point is always past trauma, mental health issues etc. My dad lived through the horror of the end days of WWII as a little boy.
Im so so sorry. I need to fix that same issue... So easy to drink a 12 pack plus daily... It's hard. I've had a good life, but this appears to have taken over unfortunately. I'm 35 right now.
I'm a struggling alcoholic myself... I can't speak for him but please know that we try and try and fail and fail over and over again. He most assuredly died trying to make everyone around him happy even though he was miserable. Rest well
We're proud of the man you've become too Tom and madchild. When your doing good, people hate. When you're doing bad, no one notices. At least one fan cares. Know that.
Tom I just wanted to say thank you. My names Burton today is my 21 birthday and I am a year and half sober of cocaine and alcohol. You and others like you who have been there are such an inspiration to people like me. Keep up the good work brother. God bless
I lost my mother to Suicide back in July of 2010.. Already in deep in my substance use, it put me in a place I almost never recoverd from, so I enlisted in the Army. Now that I have become a citizen again, working as an LCDC at a Treatment Facility. I am in Process groups like these three times a day.. this made me cry like I haven't cried since a child. It brought back so much I have long sensed tried to forget. What an amazing song. Thank you, God bless.
welcome back to the world sir. you know they say the only way to go when you are at rock bottom is up so please keep going up. and thank you for your service.
Timing is everything. I needed this reminder today. 13 years - "this is that war that I'll fight forever". Thank you for the words and the video. This song is fucking EVERYTHING. 🖤
As a recovering depressive I've come to understand preventing suicide isn't about chasing good feelings, but remembering you still have good to do. You're alive for a reason, don't short change humanity, you still have work to do.
I've learned this lesson recently myself. I thank God everyday for the challenges. I've got mountains to climb again, and I can't ask for more than that.
Yeah, I love listening to Angels. Have tried to check out 4 times and I always say the 5th time will be the last. Wannabe is another good one. Somedays are tough. Thank God for music.
For anyone struggling with addiction, just keep trying. Everyone has a magic number. I don’t even know what mine was but eventually I finally got it right. Keep fighting and have faith and hope and one time getting clean is going to be your last time. Life gets so much better I promise.
Thank you for your words man I hope God uses it to reach people I dont struggle with huge addictions like drugs but I've been battling pornography and I just wanna say Thank you for taking the time out of your day 😊. God Bless you
One day I'll listen to this song and be sober. Still battling addiction, seeing everyone here who's sober gives me hope and I envy every one of you. Keep it up and pray for me, not sure I'm strong enough.
I have listened to this beautiful song and "withdrawals" every day. Almost a year sober with a couple of relapses. I prayed so hard on my knees shaking ,crying for God to deliver me from this pain, tired of the seizures and blackouts. Suboxone saved my life from the constant battle with my brain chemistry from the severe opiod use disorder. Now i have to overcome letting go of that demon, (Suboxone) which is just as painful as the other. Thank you for these truly honest and well versed songs. I haven't heard anything hit addiction so accurately as this. HOG always❤ my hopes to be around for many more albums since every single day is a fight to live.
Ive been sober for 8 years now from a pill and alcohol addiction. Sober or not, once you become an addict it changes you as a person. You will always be a drug addict or an alcoholic, just in recovery and it's a constant fight everyday to stay clean. So in a way, anyone who can relate, we are stronger then people who have never been through it. We have been to hell and back. We have touched hands with death and saw what the bottom really is. @@tylerdennis566 You should feel very proud of yourself! That is a hard 30 days I know. It's not going to be easy at all and it's okay to admit it if You're struggling. Drugs and alcohol are hard addictions to Kick. The goal is to surround yourself with people who are sober, don't hang out with people who do drugs or drink. Find someone that could be an awesome sponsor to you. Someone that you can call anytime day or night if you need to talk or need help. But always remember your life is worth it. YOU are worth it and you can do this. People like us, whether we are sober ot not, will always be addicts. But it gets easier I promise. @@norm1815 I know how you know because I've been there too. It was the worst time in my life. Know what the irony is? I wasted the healthiest years of my life on drugs and alcohol. When I got clean I was fine for maybe 4 years. Then I was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder and I am now in end stage Kidney failure and need a transplant to live. Essentially I'm dying. I got off the drugs and alcohol so I wouldn't die and when I did finally kick it, I was told I could die. Life is a bitch sometimes
@@amandalove2657 Yes it is hard every day for me and I have been clean and sober since my eldest son was born. He turns 12 this year. I cannot say enough how hard it is still. Wonderful people out there to help. You just have to find them. I wish you the best of luck with it .

@@Brad-ut1ro thanks Brad. I need to find a way off this suboxone and klonipin. I've cold turkeyed so many times my body can't handle it. I just keep praying
babaluski5 well, I ain’t gonna lie. I’m still on suboxone as well. I’ve tried weaning off VERY slowly, but once I get below a certain amount the pain is intolerable and I inevitably relapse. But I also have other issues that contribute to the pain. So my doctor and I have been talkin for a long time about what to do, and I still don’t know. They say I can stay on it forever bc of the other issues causing the pain, but I never wanted that. We all just gotta figure out what’s right for us. As long as we do our best to stop hurtin ourselves and the ones we love I think we r on the right track
"I have my scars I'll always remember. I lost it all, and never surrendered." Lost everything, made it to state prison twice by the time I was 23... been clean 4 years, married with my second child on the way, and I graduate from nursing school in 3 months... Never give up. Love this song! I love these two! True talent
Same. Prison twice before I was 23. I didnt get visits or money on my books either bits. Came out with nothing but an outfit both times. Same when I left my ex wife.

So I understand how bad these hardcore drugs are and the alcohol as my grandma died last August from bad intestines from smoking and alcohol a whole ton in his early life. I’m happy for you!

@@lawrenceshdow I can see where you're coming from but if you know anything about dis tracks / battle rap you know that nothing is off limits. What I have an issue with is that when someone says that the have felt alienated and that this song helped them feel like they are not alone, that is not the time to try and take that away with your beliefs. Right
This was the first song of Toms that I ever listened to.
Going through this shit right now, I listen to this everyday for motivation. Thanks love!
Good luck! Keep on keeping on, on day at a time 🙏🏻
I hear you sister!! Me too! We can do this!

You right man...respect to tom
Jorden Berger I guess I’m the troll then if I’m just being honest I thought this song was awful I mean I like toms messaging but the reason for all the positive comments on UA-cam is because people know who tom is but in reality no one cares for him or his music besides his fan base so the only ones clicking on his videos really are his fans, this is their little “safe space” in a way not a lot of haters just toms fans enjoying his music together. I don’t think Tom is a bad rapper but I definitely feel he is too repetitive and contradictory for my liking.

"I have my scars I'll always remember. I lost it all, and never surrendered."
Lost everything, made it to state prison twice by the time I was 23... been clean 4 years, married with my second child on the way, and I graduate from nursing school in 3 months... Never give up. Love this song! I love these two! True talent

The war never ends, you just get stronger and pray the battles get easier.

You have to persevere.

One hundred going gets tough tough gets get going
Needed to hear this today. 10 years 6 months sober now. But days like today I wonder why. Life just continues to kick me in the gut. So i come here and remember why. Thank you Tom and Mad and Nova. Sometimes I need a reminder why. Whoever needs to hear this... I love you. ❤️ you matter so don't stop fighting
I hear you man. Currently sitting in water, feeling the shit from last night.
10 years is hero shit.
6 years clean from opioids, 3 years clean from meth MDMA lsd. 2 years clean from cannabis. Now working on quitting alcohol and nicotine. ❤ Thank you for this amazing song Tom & madchild got me reflecting on how proud of my sobriety I am. 🥹 This song has probably helped so many addicts or recovering addicts. Love your music it’s always so real and Relateable. 🫶
Keep it up, you will do it!
9 years clean. 🙋♀️ "When I lost it all and never surrendered." This song hit me so hard I had Niagara falls running down my face. I appreciate you all making this amazing song. ❤
"My puppy Lolo was my only gang"
Felt that shit hardest surprisingly when all you have is your dog when everyone else gives up on you. Definitely could relate.
FR
Been there. Got through it somehow
Yea my Lolo is a fly cat named shades.
My puppy is a beautiful black pure bred GSD 7 yrs old. Love her more than I do myself and wouldn't know where I'd be without a dog. They dont annoy you, constantly talk or wine about a situation, they just understand. Thas why I fuck with them so hard. They a gift we dont deserve as humans
Reminds me of John Wick just listen his wife died and all he had has his puppy
“I know it gets better”
“This is a war that I’ll fight forever”
“ I lost it all and then never surrendered”
“ I have my scars I’ll always Remember”
THOSE are the lyrics that hit deep
Faith correction * I have my scars I’ll always remember when I lost it all and never surrender
Izzy Nicole
Yeah I know I didn’t do them in order lol
NEVER surrendered xx
Correction its i lost it all but NEVER surrendered
Amen 🎗
Tim MacDonald and Nova Rockafeller are so in sync and have amazing chemistry with their art that even their movements are mirrored to eachother!
Been going through this for 90% of my life! Awesome that someone brought it to the light instead of glorifying getting high and drunk! It's not a fun life and it gets lonely fast! You rock Tom!!!!🤘
Keep following the lord and keep in your recovery Tom is amazing and real as hell he a inspiration to my life
I could never imagine I would be the person people lable a "junky" but I did go that route been struggling with it for almost 7 years! I'm luccy to be alive and fight another day it's been almost 2 days no poison in my body!! I listen to Tom to help me get thru!! This man is so underrated 90% of these "mainstream rappers" have nothing on Tom period! Thanx for helping me get thru these tough times
Are you still going
I hope you're still doing well 💕
The more you feed the beast the stronger it gets
I hope you’re still going strong, Bro.

@@kathybell1345 When you see this, I hope you got into rehab and have some days under your belt! I'll pray for you to get it right the first time. One day at a time! ✌🏻❤️😀
It's a battle with me. Oxycodone. 2 back surgeries. My body needs them but I don't It's hard to explain. Just had 2nd back surgery on the 11th.
@@asd123543666 I to had two back surgeries, wouldn't wish it on anyone! I hope you're on the mend with no further issues. Keeping you in my prayers.
@@17luckynumbers Thank You. It's very hard. Right now being stuck only able to walk for only 10 minutes until the pain comes. This 2nd surgery is seems to be worse.
This song helped me get through 14 days of detox and withdrawal . Bless you guys thank you 🙏
Yesterday I was arrested, I was blackout drunk at a bar and I ended up in jail, my girlfriend packed her things and left. I just found this song and it hit me hard. It’s time for me to change for the better. I will fight, I have been struggling since I was 18, I’m 21 now. My life has been a constant drug to me. But it’s time for it to change. Thank you for making this song, truly inspiring.
Keep the faith young man, you've got this!!
Been there man just glad I never woke up in jail many times I should have
@@thatonesatelliteguy Damn, yeah. No shit, eh? I need to stop before I do end up in jail too.
We are in the same boat brother... we got this. It's so hard.
Keep your head up dude you got this, dont let the devil take your soul
30 years...I had 30 years October 23, 2019. Still need reminders now and again why I don't fall back. Thank you Tom for this. We needed it today. Love to all in recovery.
October 30th was my 4 years! Keep it up man!
3 and a half years sober for me. Alcohol
7 years this April. Keep up the fight folks!!!
Had a slip in 2018 so back to just over a year. 15 over-all. For those that need the message.. Slips happen. You just get back up and start again.
Quiters
Jk. I just drink in moderations. You know 2-3 on a Friday Saturday maybe 5-6 playing some pool. It's called spirits for a reason. But some people just shouldn't drink. I'm a happy buzzer. Cheers y'all much blessings ♥️👍🤣😂
This hits so close to home for me. My daughter is an addict for 11 yrs...
Respect to all you who have got sober... and the fight it is everyday.
@@richardmonk6863 please 🙏 get help! You're worth it and your life will change for the better in ways you've never dreamed of. I'm 22 years clean, it's not easy but it's worth it! My body still has issues from all the damage drugs & alcohol did to me. But life is still never better! You can do it!
@Lisa White I'm praying for your daughter, and for you as well. My God bless you with strength and guidance. ❤️
My mom prayed for me for 12 years and God never stopped trying to pull me off the streets. Eventually it worked and it will work for her too ❤️
@@jennytwentythree9351 I'm so happy to hear that! Keep up the great work! ❤
I'm with you my teeth are rotting out too and trying so hard to fix it! I know thing happen for a reason I needed it to appreciate when I can fix it. I use to look down on people whether I realized it or not. Now I understand how easy it is to go down, and want better.
Burried a cousin last month, he overdosed and was found 2 days later. This song hits home for real and not just from that funeral but from my own addictions. Struggled for 12 years and then got sick and tired of being sick and tired. It's been 5 years off opioids and haven't looked back. If you're reading this then just know that you are not worthless and you can be better and achieve greater things in life. Love yourself.
Scuba Steeeve I’m battling the same now
❤❤
Joanne Marie big love ❤️❤️
@@adamsieuan4932 Thank you. I am fighting the same battles, as well, right now. It seems SO hard & ALL we can do is TRY.. Like the saying goes 1 day @ A time... & that, my friend, is SO TRUE. I hope you can keep fighting the demons or as I call it " the 😈 Devil" and NEVER give up. Much love to you!! ❤♥❤♥ ❤💋💋💋
@@adamsieuan4932 be strong, just know that the road to recovery is long but have faith in yourself and understand that people love you and want to see you do better.
