I listen to this every morning. Im 2 years clean of meth, 3 years clean of heroin, 1 year clean of coke, and 9 months sober from a half gallon of whiskey a day. I honestly can relate to this. Every day I'm greatlul for that i don't use or drink.

@@poppyd9758 Yes! A thousand times yes! When you get sober, it makes your "friends" question their alcohol/substance use. 99% of the time they aren't ready to stop...then blame YOU for not being fun anymore. No one in that group really cared about my health. Got new friends now.

It sounds cliche but when you wake in the morning , go to a mirror or reflective surface and say aloud "i fckin love you" give yourself some love because we always forget to reinforce positive thoughts but constantly fill our heads with negative ones . repeat that multiple times then take a moment to think of your positive attributes and try to work on those. Our own mind can be our best friend or our worst enemy, Self love can set any man or woman free, and likewise self-doubt will always cripple us and set us up for failure.
Another thing is try to get a solid sleep routine if possible , and do not use your phone for at least 2 hours after you have woke its amazingwhat differencethis makes to your day because influencers are just that , so dont be influenced. start the day off on your terms and youll beat the demons .

Heroin was my demon, I struggled for 5 year’s. It took me longer to mend relationships with family, & friends because I lost my self while taking them with me. My mom passed away it took me then to open my eyes to her wise words I needed to be the women I am today. Addictions are hard but you’re always bigger then those demons.

I was strung out on smack for about the same amount of time as you were. Was an alcoholic for the 7 years beforehand. Traded the booze for the drugs. I've been clean for 6 years now and it's so good. I just hope the damage I've done to my body hasn't taken too many years off of my life.

I just opened my second business location, so I have a lot of people that rely on me, and its a great feeling knowing that I am doing everything I can to take care of them. I know some of them struggle with addictions - and being able to understand their problems, and meet them on their level has given me the opportunity to have stronger connections with them and offer them help and advice instead of meeting them with anger.

It's insane how you made this song relatable for everyone. If you've been down that road, most of these things have happened to you... I was on the rigs doing heroin & oxy with my driller when I was 17. Had a girlfriend freak out and slit her wrists with a broken mirror because I wouldn't give her a line. Crashed my truck drunk with a duffle bag of drugs, and ran from the cops... And everything in between.. to then having kids and seeing success through my own business which ultimately shadowed my own issues until they ran out of control and I had everything to lose. Needless to say - it took a lot of hard work, faith, prayers and support from meetings for me to see, and FEEL the light on the other side.
Shouting out all the recovering addicts, and current addicts who are trying to get sober .. don't give up.
Suffered a seizure from an alcohol/pill withdrawal, found Tom Mac Again after not listening to him from so long.
This song helped me get thru the days I was in the hospital. Thanks to these Peeps singing, you Helped Me!!!

Sometimes it's good to shed the old life. You may miss those friends now but they aren't what you need in your life. Take this time to get to know yourself better and find a life you can find happiness in without the drink. I lost everyone and felt so alone. With Jesus I lost that loneliness over time, I have found myself, a life I enjoy, and new friends. The true ones will come back around if they are there. My oldest friend is back in my life and now Jesus is working in his life. He could see the change in me and I think he wanted what I was feeling. I told him it's because I have found my Lord. I think he's coming around to learning he needs to seek Jesus himself. Try it. I mean what's the harm. A better life? A wonderful relationship with Jesus? Salvation?

You maintain by realizing you are valuable. Every day adds up. 1 day turns into 2, then it hits 7days, and that's a week followed by 30days and that's a month. Then they just keep adding up till you hit a year, and then keep going. August makes 6 years me for me with no alcohol, and trust me there has been many temptations along the way, just have to hold the faith in yourself and God(if you believe)

Honestly, I miss selling as much as using. It was every bit as hard for me to give up too. I tried so hard to rationalize still doing it sober. Telling myself I could handle it now and would make even more money not putting it all up my nose.. even though I'd done it several times, and most definitely could *not* handle it.. ✌✌

I survived all those OD's and scary situation's because God has a plan for me...Just like he has with all of you! This song hit home, started drinking when I was 17 and deal with depression. I drank for 17 years daily. Suicide attempts, mental breakdowns, showing up to work drunk, constantly hung over, drinking before I could leave the house to see anyone, my addiction was part of me for so long. I just hit my one year sobriety in April, this song gives me hope to keep going on the hard days.

Congrats! My mother used to do these back when I was in 3rd grade and my brother was in kindergarten cause my parents got in a huge fight, my mom did all this and worst almost died! Had to live with my grandma for a year. Not having her kids made her wanna quit and so she did, she’s now going to be 6 years clean this year! So I understand how bad these hardcore drugs are and the alcohol as my grandma died last August from bad intestines from smoking and alcohol a whole ton in his early life. I’m happy for you! I never thought sobriety was possible, I thought I would die a heroin addict. I stole from friends and family, from the time I would wake up, until the time I would pass out heroin was my only focus. My dad struggled with alcoholism (and smoking) and managed to get sober after many years but still had an addiction to sleeping pills because of his insomnia. People can be so cruel to people who struggle with addiction when the cause/starting point is always past trauma, mental health issues etc. My dad lived through the horror of the end days of WWII as a little boy.
Im so so sorry. I need to fix that same issue... So easy to drink a 12 pack plus daily... It's hard. I've had a good life, but this appears to have taken over unfortunately. I'm 35 right now.

I’m 17 and was addicted to coke when I was 12 because of where I lived it was available, I’m just over 2 and a half years sober from my second relapse and this song was the only thing that helped me stay away from it during the pandemic and it’s still helping today. I lost my mother to Suicide back in July of 2010.. Already in deep in my substance use, it put me in a place I almost never recoverd from, so I enlisted in the Army. Now that I have become a citizen again, working as an LCDC at a Treatment Facility. I am in Process groups like these three times a day.. this made me cry like I haven't cried since a child. It brought back so much I have long sensed tried to forget. What an amazing song. Thank you, God bless.

I have listened to this beautiful song and "withdrawals" every day. Almost a year sober with a couple of relapses. I prayed so hard on my knees shaking ,crying for God to deliver me from this pain, tired of the seizures and blackouts. Suboxone saved my life from the constant battle with my brain chemistry from the severe opiod use disorder. Now i have to overcome letting go of that demon, (Suboxone) which is just as painful as the other.
Thank you for these truly honest and well versed songs. I haven't heard anything hit addiction so accurately as this. HOG always❤ my hopes to be around for many more albums since every single day is a fight to live.

Congrats! My mother used to do these back when I was in 3rd grade and my brother was in kindergarten cause my parents got in a huge fight, my mom did all this and worst almost died! Had to live with my grandma for a year. Not having her kids made her wanna quit and so she did, she’s now going to be 6 years clean this year! So I understand how bad these hardcore drugs are and the alcohol as my grandma died last August from bad intestines from smoking and alcohol a whole ton in his early life. I’m happy for you! My job I had for 15 years, Got arrested, went to rehab numerous times, lost friends, My family didn't want nothing to do with me, Overdosed, Blew through A LOT of money and just about lost my life. I've been clean now for almost 17 months off of Meth, Crack, Cocaine, Pills/Alcohol. I'm thankful that I decided to finally get well, I never gave up but it wasn't easy at all.
