Tonight is the first time I heard it and I'm captivated. I've been captivated by Bosh's Garden of Earthly Delights ever since I first laid eyes on it decades ago.
This composition was actually covered and used for a fansong for the Indie game Ultrakill! It is called "With apologies to Bosch, The Master", and it stays very true to this composition, with some instrument changes!
you gotta have the wood sounds cause where would you be able to hear this that didn't have a fire going in the 1400s the crossroads next to the forests?
There is something very human about this melody. It sounds sorrowful but not hopeless. It's melancholic. I am of the belief that humanity has a very hard time letting go of hope completely, no matter how grimm the situation. Even if according to Dante the gates of hell say "Abandon hope all ye who enter here", I think the condemned for eternal punishment would still dream, hope. It is coded in us to do so, I think. And there is something very bittersweet about that, because sometimes I feel like complete resignation to your cruel situation is better than endlessly expecting things to get better when they simply can't. Either way, I could totally imagine someone in hell playing this song, hoping for freedom against their better judgement, and maybe the consolation derived from that act alone makes the flames of hellfire burn a little less hot.
Concerning eternal torture British comedian and actor David Mitchell once quipped - "You would get used to it!" However, I would add the warning that God could see to it that this cannot happen and your agonies will be forever fresh. Now that's a terrible thought.
@@kaloarepo288 As a mere mortal with the limited mind that the universe (or god, if you prefere) has gifted me, I cant conjure such an endless state of pain - one in which you cant possibly grow accostumed to the agony in any shape or form - , so it is frankly very hard for me to fear a punishment I cant imagine.
"I carve your frame, your beloved engravings, your face sharper than any forged blade. I pour in your blood, your meat and bones. What makes you move, and feel. Cyan bolts strike your body, giving you thought. Giving you soul. No longer are you stone from the quarry. No more are you the carrion of the insolent. Your shell is yours, your flesh is yours, and you incarnate are my retribution. You cut me down, you burn me, you flay my body apart. But I endure not because of masochism. Not of ignorance. But of love. He is watching, and through this my blood will be my penance. And I shall rejoice in his creations, his fruits. I will never stop believing. There are many like you. The masculine figures. The female shells filled with our own bodies. The great scorpions. The shining virgin and her child. Even the bull. But among your brothers and sisters, you are special. You are my own tormentor. I smile in your grace. And even if the gates never open, I will still have you."
I keep coming back to this video. You're a master! Everything about this video is so beautiful and peaceful. The ambiance of your setting, the candles and the fire crackling in the background makes the entire experience breathtaking.
My guy, I cannot tell you how stoked I am to find this video. I have been playing the older vid on repeat for months, teaching myself ukulele and this tune at the same time, trying to bring whatever color I can to my medieval-themed hobby (LARP) group. This is my favorite song, and I'm learning it on uke an fiddle at least. ❤
I've been listening to this since I found it a few years ago, please tell me its available on spotify or something :). And for some reason this song has a strange calming effect on my dog, I showed my girlfriend and she was shocked. This is such an amazing and magical rendition :)
Absolutely love this. Wonderful revisit. One of those songs that could loop for a very long time without it getting old. Such a wistful melancholy to it.
This is from the third panel, so it's what the apocalypse sounds like, not the garden... according to some skeleton/demon who thought it would be funny to tattoo a silly nonsense tune on an arse.
That is one glorious moustache! I could only dream of having one like that! This rendition is also very nice, so thanks for including it in the video from 9 years ago!
... Ok, first of all, *love*... But second, and the reason I wandered into your fire lit parlor.... Has anyone tried playing the tune bass ackwards? 🤔 Seems like that would compute with the merry, topsy turvy thinking of the era. "Oh, she drowned, she's not a witch! Too bad, I liked her til they found that mole under her boob ..." Anyway, thanks for sharing! 😊
Your music deserves and aks for better sound recording . At least a good mike connected to your cell phone . Not shure the setup. Is with the loop stuff , but for instrument recording , you would be amazed how much spatial and cosmic and emerging your music becomes with good sound recording ( does not have to be expensive or difficult ) I get it that you like the analogue and natural feel of everything , but in the end you are sharing this via the digital world . Ever tried recording in a church or straight wall reflecting halls ?
Excellent, but (not butt) the mic is too close to the fireplace. No musician should be upstaged by fire, unless circumstances require the Emergency Exit.
I'm glad to see that Butt Music is still in your bu... errr heart. It's been one of my favorites for... wow almost 10 years now.

Wow I thought I the only one so affected by this

Did not expect UK reference here
Holy shit happy to see raifu mentioned
TERRACE OF LECHERY SWEEP ‼‼
People complain about the wood sound but I think it’s an interesting background.

Are they? I only see one people complaining.
I count three negative comments about the fire in this thread. But I thought it was great.

Красиво сказано.

That is so cool! Keep it going! Btw, if you want to post it on your channel, I'd be more than happy to see your performance :)
Who knew music straight from hell could sound so heavenly?
It's straight from the butt and heaven at least half-assed everything.
Not sure how to feel about the crackling sound. Love the visuals obviously. Hell. Fire.
What are the odds I start thinking about this song again, after at least 3 years, only 2 days after you post a revisit?
This just happened to me :P

Even the fireplace was calmed by the song.
I share your original video of this song with everyone who will listen. This is wonderful.
Эта мелодия запала мне в душу как только я её услышала😍 спасибо большое ❤️
Same here honestly
Когда ее впервые услышал, было чувство, будто уже где-то ее слышал
The part of me that's 11 loves "Butt Music" but the part of me that's 416 really just appreciates the song itself.
That was lovely work. Just watched the OG video!
Jim, you moved my soul. Thank you, and thanks to Amalia.
Outstanding, the best rendition I've ever heard, thank you, sends chill up the spine, to think this is 500 years old, wow great work.
Absolutely love this. Wonderful revisit. One of those songs that could loop for a very long time without it getting old. Such a wistful melancholy to it.
This is a masterpiece - well done, sir! If this is what the garden of earthly delights sounds like, I'm there.

Great rendition! The final "chord" of fading away was a huge surprise and a nice touch to end the story! Thanks a lot for the video!
Amazing i wish i was ur friend i could sit and listen to ur music for hours
I absolutely love your work, can't stop recommending you to everyone, I feel as everyone needs to listen to this
Yes! I wish some of the people I know recommended stuff like this to me.

Your creativity always blows my mind, Jim!

Thank you for this wonderfull revisted piece. Truly gift to us all.
That is one glorious moustache! I could only dream of having one like that! This rendition is also very nice, so thanks for including it in the video from 9 years ago!
Great Performance
Absolutely Brilliant! Bravo ❤
I feel like this music was inspired from the three demons that gave him inspiration and talent and later tormented him.
Really beautiful
Beautiful
I love your presentation as well as the music
Man this is beautiful
A beautiful and extraordinary masterpiece.
Very beautiful, peaceful and tender. Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful! Well done! ❤

Great interpretation!
This is really great stuff
AMAZING. Thank you very much.
So awesome!
Amazing remember 🔥
It's beautiful.
I'm surprised music this old can still vibe.
Lovely
Úžasná píseň z " prdele" obrazu pana Hieronyma
Intro reminds me of some of the music from 28 days later
Thnx Sir....grazie
I'd bet Bobby Prince took inspiration from the music written in the painting for his OG doom soundtrack 100%.
Magnifique.....
God damn that's some good butt music
Merci !
Божественно!!!
Incredibly

Whoever disliked this video must visit the music source (hell)
And have it tattooed on their posterior!
That beginning is very, "Butt. James Butt."

Is this written down somewhere in modern annotation?
Beautiful Butt Music❤
It sounds sad 😢, no wonder the 3rd inner panel is hell. Suffering
He suffered alot he hallucinated demons and heard voices he had schizophrenia
His WHAT music?
From the painting
The Garden of Earthly Delights
(Bosch)
Excellent, but (not butt) the mic is too close to the fireplace.

Plenty of fire in hell, so...
What if this music meant to be played by butt and not by all these fancy instruments? 🤔🤷🏻♂️
Sounds great buy the wood popping and crackling is very distracting
I like the little stained glass window you have
Merci !
