I feel like im just gonna have to learn irish fiddle songs and translate that to the bouzouki cuz Im finding way too much American country music (which is nice, when you want it) being played on irish bouzouki when Im looking for irish music (so I can learn.)
You know what's bugging the ever living crap out of me? This guy is absolutely killing the shit out of these tunes and there's only 655 likes?????!!!! WTF world, wake up and learn that this dude is out there making great music!
The Lark in the AM is not an easy tune. There have a couple of really outstanding plays on the uilleann pipes and fiddle. This is right up with the best. And Duncan’s Hard Drive is harder yet. Stunning. I have figured out how this genius does it. He has an 8 core brain and a clock rate up in gigahertz range.
An 'Irish Bouzouki' is just a fancy name for a mandola, Octave Mandolin, or mandocello that has an open tuning. Has little in common with the true greek bouzouki
This is a great recording... really captures the your playing and the tone. I'm thinking of adding one to my collection but, know nothing and want to decide... what tuning is in this song? Is it tough to pick up from guitar?
@@PB22559 Sorry Brian, my comment was not clear. I wasn’t referring to the video or the quality of the playing. My point was that we don’t hear the bouzouki playing the melody often enough. It’s nearly always used to accompany other instruments. It’s nice, as in this case, to hear it taking the lead on the melody. Perfect playing as usual.
Hi! How do you hear the rhythm guitar without the microphones that are picking up the bouzoki picking up the guitar? Thank you very much for the beautiful music
Thanks! For this video, I recorded the bouzouki first and the guitar later, so easy enough. When I do the rhythm guitar first, I usually wear ear buds. Or sometimes I cheat and record the bouzouki audio separately and then play "air bouzouki" in the video.
i cant finish assignments, i can't stop watching trad videos, i am overcome with an urge to play but i know if i play anymore tin whistle I'll faint or my guitar my fingers will bleed aaaaaaaaaa
Someone needs to explain to me why I'm obsessed with Irish/Celtic music and this gem.
It is soul elevating.
Never have I been more proud to have Irish blood than when listening to folk music.
I have about 6-10% maybe but I'm still proud of the but I have.
In a word "Excellent '
My feet are involuntarily tapping away and I can't stop them
the rhythm this guy has is unreal
Hup!! The lift.
Saw this comment at the same moment I noticed my own feet start to tap.
The same!!! =)
Haha, same! 💗💗💗
You are so talented! Thank you for the joy that your music brought to me.
Outstandingly beautiful. The Lark is my favourite Irish folk tune and your rendition is cosmic perfection.
I am at a loss for words to describe your playing of "The High Drive", although pure joy might come close! Thank you for this music.
That is beautiful playing, but what I like most is that you are obviously enjoying yourself immensely just in the joy of the tunes.
i never tire of listening To you...i think y ou touch something in my soul
Well said!
Tempo is key. Frantic pace in a race to the finish tramples a tune to submission.
Steady does justice.
Thank you.
You my friend are a joy and a treasure to listen to . I`ve only recently found your videos and my days feel blessed and enriched by them. Thank you.
Insanely beautiful!
Amazing Saturday morning music to put a smile on my face:)
Excellent player x
If there was a single mistake, I couldn't tell. Such a clean session
Cheers again Tijn
Superb.
Bualadh bos Maith an fear thú féin!

Nice..nice pace, usually people race off with this..at this pace everyone wins 😅
Ottima performance
Lovely
Subscribed at 4:30 right as you built into the high drive and then you went to another level after that anyway! Fair play to ya from Perth WA
You definitely got it down. I put you up there with Lady Moon herself.
feckin brililant playing !
The numbers have improved from 653 likes Fine performance, but it's a tough playing field.
Gordon would have loved this I'm sure.
jig kesukaan ku ! matur suksma

Is the "hard" sound due to the bouzouki, or to the mood of the player?
What tuning are you using?
❤👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
And again who cares love you though

You're dead right - I've listened to him for a while now and if he was here in Ireland he'd be taking Dónal Lunny's throne for sure.
This is absolutely amazing soul-lifting music. Greetings from Nova Scotia.
Ahoy Bluenoser agrees
Soul-lifting. Wonderfully put! Cheers from Missouri in the US. 😎

Beautiful. I bought a bouzouki today.

Truly one of the best Irish trad bouzouki players. Would love to sometime share a tune, what an honor that would be

Magnificent show, Tijn! After visiting a few Irish trad sessions I now appreciate your flit fingers and acute music sense even more.
Simply superlative and so inspirational. Thanks so much.
I love your melodic style of playing. Could sit and listen all day long, so please put up a few much longer videos...... WONDERFUL.
Seriously some of the best folk music available on UA-cam. Bravo!
Got any albums for sale?
Magnifique, bravo from France
What a beautiful sounding instrument wonderfully played. HalleluYAH
Excellent version. Up there with Cillian Vallely & Alan Murray's.
Your fingers deserve speeding tickets. Well done.

I just discovered you. Awesome. I love this. Thank you. How did you learn to play?
Geweldig Tijn! Prachtig gespeeld, zowel zoet en zacht als speels en energiek. Heerlijk om naar te luisteren, bedankt voor de mooie muziek!
You are so amazingly talented, Tijn! I keep coming back to your videos, over and over again! I LOVE this one!
Absolutely beautiful playing. We don’t hear enough solo bouzouki.
It's bouzouki and guitar.

@@radharcanna No worries Seán
Onbegrijpelijk dat je deze snelle tune zo makkelijk speelt, op een instrument met zulke grote afstanden in frets.
Lovely. Can I ask, what tuning are you using? GDAD or GDAE?
This music takes me to some other entirely blissful realm, utterly superb!
Only 6 more weeks until St. Patrick's Day! Who cares whether the ground hog saw his shadow - he's welcome to dance too.
Great playing and sweet sounding bouzouki!!(who is the builder?)
Beautiful sound
Wonderful playing!
This is unbelievably good!! 🤯💯💯💯
Superb. 2nd track I have heard. All incredible playing.
Well done! Wow...
Would have had all thy fair maidens ah tappering apon the cobble

Magnificent!
Phenomenal....👏👏👏❣️
Brilliant 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
what tuning do you use?
This is too good!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Astounding! Wonderful!
incredible playing, I'm a seasoned guitar player but interested in taking up the bazouki to learn Irish music. Does the transference of skill help?
It helps but it is still a very challenging instrument to pick up
Seriously decent version, bravo
Beautiful playing Tign.
Absolutely blistering - nicely done!
Incredible
Brilliant playing!
Hi Tijn. As always, fantastic playing. So precise and happy! One question: what tuning are you using?
Also curious about this. I assume GDAD?
Brillant!!!
Very very very Good!!!
