  • (From: Autosport, 18 July 1991) For the 8th round of the Dunlop Rover GTi Championship held as a support race for the 1991 F1 British GP, Eddie Jordan was having a guest appearance in the celebrity car, driving in an open face Stefan Johansson helmet. Eddie was a couple of seconds from the pole and half-way up the field pretty disgusted with his efforts.
Eddie was 10th on lap one and fifth by lap eight. Wife Marie was installed at Copse with the kids and a strong Jordan contingent, cheering his every advance.
Right in front of their eyes, Eddie came barrelling down the inside of Robert Shirle, made it, but was tapped and visited the gravel in a great wreath of tyre smoke. Eddie recovered to cross the line 10th, which became ninth when Peter Baldwin lost his fifth place with the addition of a penalty for careless driving.
