This totally foxed the problem I had with objects in UE4 coming out weird when they were 'Mirrored' in 3DS MAX. Thank you so much :) PS: Scaling was not needed for me. Possibly cause it was already an altered object?
If I apply this to the 'Bone001' bone in my rig, collapsing the 'XForm' will change my Bone into an Editable Mesh. Not sure if that will affect my animated asset when importing into UE4.
For those of you who probably disliked this because it didn't work, make sure your object is NOT in a group, detach it from the group then do this.
This fixed the fix for me.

Kristian Severens xform is for all transform so not just scaling

well it shouldn't be a problem but you don't usually reset xform on bones anyway. Why are you doing it?
