I brush my three cats every day.
One is super fluffy & during winter months the heater dries out her hair & she gets matts. Tip: I found that keeping it a little cooler in the house & running a but of coconut oil on my metal comb before brushing does a wonderful job preventing matts. She has had almost none. If she does, it is usually in the beginning stage & easily taken out with no pain.
Now i only have to use the coconut oil apx every other time.

Meanwhile my 2 ragdolls run and hide as soon as I pull out anything that isn’t the rubber brushing glove

    Hey bud,
You are one of the channels that has made me the great cat dad that i am now.
Every night ollie n i brush teeth n groom groom. Since i last posted we homed a garlic face cat named jr and on the 26th we will detain her brother to home him.
We have been feeding her papa for years now. Ollie is so well behaved. Jr... she still is coming out of her shell.
1x a week ill use wipes on ollie n clean his ears. Jr wont let us touch her but she is coming along.
Ollie really helped motivate me during my recovery from the hospital. He is my lil partner.
Thank you for all your great advice!!! You are the best. Btw... the toy fish in a tub was gold!!! Ollie plays with them as we bathe him. Thank you.😊😊😊

Are some breeds just naturally calmer? 😅
I've been brushing my two since they were babies. It's not this easy. Yours are wonderful❤

Some are, for my cats years of training have helped keep them calm. I would say in the beginning they squirmed a bit. Hope that helps!

@@TheCatButlerwhat's the difference between all the brushes?? Do you recommend using all of them?

    • @TheCatButler
      @TheCatButler  20 днів тому +1

@@RashadWill Hey good question. Each brush has a purpose. The deshedding brush is able to dig deep in a cat's coat and remove hair from the bottom layers, the slicker brush gets hair from the top layer and anything, the comb can reach sensitive areas, and pick up anything missed by the other two brushes. I recommend using all of them.

Teemo has the same problem from time to time. I just trim a little bit from time to time with the clippers. Tom is an awesome name for a Ragdoll :)

Always wonderful information! Can you please recommend a robotic vacuum that works? We got a roborock 8 months ago, spent $500. and now it always says it's offline. We are senior citizens with our beautiful ragdoll MAESTRO and are very frustrated about this machine. THANK YOU in advance,

Is the 1 year rag-doll cat don’t have long fur 😢why ? Is it take long time to have long coats?

My male likes the slicker brush, my female hates anything to do with grooming

Unfortunately if I tried to use a pet clipper then my poor cat would freak out :( He HATES anything that makes that kind of sound.

I have a tip that might help - look for something called “Scaredy Cut” (CUT like snip snip! 😸) - it’s essentially a sharp pair of scissors modified in shape to accept specific “beard trimmer” clip-on attachments for different lengths (that get you closer to the skin vs leaving the hair longer). It only makes snipping noises the same as any scissors (and its FAR better than the cheapo poor quality “pet scissors” I’ve bought before that weren’t sharp at all - I liked the rounded ends on those, but the cutting action was so poor literally the sound (and presumably tearing sensation) of cutting into fur would freak out my cats), and the modified shape and attached guides give it some extra safety over a normal pair of scissors because there shouldn’t be any way for their skin to come into contact with the blade. Still something to use carefully, ideally when they’re very calm and not likely to make any sudden jerky movements, because it is still a blade. I live on my own and my cats are both scared/wary of people who aren’t me, and absolutely hate being put in their carriers to go anywhere, so either roping in a friend to help or taking my cats to a groomer regularly isn’t really a good option, so I’ve had to get good at managing the solo groom 😽

Cutting the fur around the butt is the main challenge - we have pet scissors, but our cats won't let us get near the area... I want to get a pet trimmer, but I am sure it's equally denied tho. 🤔😐
