    That is CRAZY $$$ for a freakin’ cabinet of dubious quality. Find a local woodworker and get something less expensive and better looking. I have the Vivid storm screen placed behind a low, streamlined custom made cabinet. Other than the remote controlled screen, it doesn’t have all the other remote nonsense. But I didn’t want a Chinese Transformer dominating my living space. Plus I paid one seventh of the cost for a custom piece.

    I’m thinking how to add like external audio to this. My sitting position is 7 meters away from the screen and seems like it’s not possible to rest a sound bar on the cabinet.

    You're not supposed to bring the image all the way to the edges of the Vividstorm screen, they curve inward slightly and the screen also curls back just a bit at the edges. I recommend bringing the projector just slightly closer so you have a 2 to 4cm gap on each side, and then using a laser level to get perfectly square edges. It makes a difference in image quality, and you won't get the light leak.

    • @TrendingReviews

      I do understand this, however, the cabinet that I have, doesn't allow me to move my projector any closer and so the maximum projection size I get at the max closeness is what you're seeing in my video - and my projector doesn't have an option to reduce the zoom of the projection manually either, so I have to live with it right up the curved edges. But I agree!

    At the 6 have a 85 inch Q95 A Samsung TV Neo Qled cost me around £3500 plus £200 for a 5 metre one connect cable,l am contemplating a projection system of sorts but at £7000 I'd be looking atleast 120" for £7000
    The base cabinet looks quality, but a bit on the bulky side

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  9 місяців тому

      Vividstorm do offer this setup at 120", but at slightly more cost overall of course. But I've included the projector into the 7k cost so if you can find a cheaper laser projector to offset cost difference, then that might be the best option for you.

    I'm curious what you're doing for sound. Are you only using the speaker in the projector or did you add additional speakers to the set up? Does the mesh screen on the drawer block the sound?

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  11 місяців тому

      I often use the sound directly from the projector because its loud enough to fill the room, even with the mesh screen on the drawer, because the speakers fire upwards from the open part, rather than from the back towards the mesh. However, having said that, I bought 2x new Bluetooth speakers (UB+ S1 Circles) and connected to the projector, and placed them on top of the cabinet and the sound is much nicer now.

  • @ricagambeda
    @ricagambeda 8 місяців тому

    You didn’t show the process of adjusting the range of movement of the drawer. I have the Formovie Theatre and if you don’t reduce the drawer travel, using the lower left button on the cabinet remote control, the image is far too large for a 100” screen. At the moment I am waiting for Vivid Storm China to come up with a solution as the one-button operation of screen, drawer and projector simply does not work for me at all. In fact if I attach the USB cable linking projector and cabinet, the drawer will not stay closed at all! Really frustrating …

    You should have a look at the screen with a solid white background and see if there are any vertical creases or aberrations in the screen. I went through 3 vividstorm S Pro ALR screens, each had horrible quality issues. The second one had a bent stop button that allowed the screen to retract too far into the case and stretched the material, that was a horrifying moment lol. I think what happens to these screens is during shipment, some possibly get stood up on end allowing the screen to fold / telescopically fold inward toward the center and wrinkle. Basically any projector screen will get wrinkles if its transported any other orientation than horizontal. Also the QC at Vividstorm warehouses don't seem to be trained to see wrinkles or screen issues and had to be talked into placing a UST projector on the last screen they sent me and send me high quality photos so I could at least help them confirm it was ok.
    Anyhow good luck, anyone here who gets one, in receiving a perfect screen in under 3 replacements as I know several others who have went through the same issues . Even my current screen has a very slight bit of unevenness to the sides but its pretty minimal so I stuck with it.

      Hey, thank you for sharing your experience! I actually compared the Vividstorm ALR screen with a normal white screen, and even showed the difference it makes being projected on a flat white wall. Video is here: ua-cam.com/video/BVQoQHn8F_w/v-deo.html
      I do have to say though, that the left and right hand side edges of the Vividstorm ALR screen does have a very tiny curve in them, so its not 100% flat, but its something thats manageable for me. Time will tell long term how it continues to perform!
      But you're probably right about how delivery drivers place the screens in their truck via transit - it could easily damage it before you even open the box.

    How you'll fit the surround soundbar ? I don't see any location where on top it can be kept. I feel the design of such a massive product does require a external speaker accommodation which guess is missing

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  9 місяців тому

      That's true. Unless you have smaller speakers which can sit on the left and side pieces, you'd have to find another place for a soundbar, which is a down point

    Thanks for this video. I am very interested in one of these floor-rising screens from Vividstorm. I’m holding off for now as I’m just getting into projectors and screens, even though I just ordered that jmGo N1 Ultra. The cost of shipping gave me pause on the vividstorm model I was looking at. I’m going to get a cheap white screen first and see how that works and then hopefully get one of the a Vividstorm as I don’t want to bother with any wall mounting etc. I’m looking as the one you show in this video but also a Cinema White version as I have a dark room and blackout curtains on the windows. One question: Does the casing for the floor-rising unit you got have metal feet (the ones you showed in the video)? If so, i might have to put those on something as I have hardwood floors that I’d not to have marred up by metal feet. Any comments you have would be helpful. Thanks.

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      Thank you for your comment! The Vividstorm floor rising screen has the metal flat feet that can be rotated outwards like I've shown in the video, yes. I believe they have a rubberised grip on the feet though, so that it doesn't damage hard wood flooring, so I don't think you would need to prop it up onto something to be honest. I hope that helps!

      @@TrendingReviews Thank you kindly! I thought of another question: How much of an adjustment is there for the black part at the bottom of the screen? Can you lower all the way so you don’t see any of the black? I was thinking of putting in on my wide TV stand but that would make the bottom of the screen too high, unless I could lower it. Thanks again!

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      No worries! Yeah you have the option to manually adjust the screen height. Whilst it's going up, you can just hit the stop button on the remote whenever you like.
      Also, there's an option to select max height with some hidden screws on the side too!

    Thanks for the review! One question. I wonder if the bottom black edge of the projector screen is acoustically transparent so I could put a center channel speaker behind it? If not, any suggestions about the front channel?

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  5 місяців тому +1

      Hi there - thank you! I'm not sure about the material being acoustically transparent on the black part of it, but just a couple of questions about that:
      1. How much space do you have behind the screen? Because if you use it with this cabinet, there isn't any space to put a soundbar or speaker onto the screen part, and would have to sit on the floor
      2. Will you use the screen directly on the floor? If so, then there will be a bit of distance from the speaker to the screen, and depending on how loud your speaker is, the audio should disperse around the room just fine, even with the screen in the way, and shouldn't block it from getting a good audio experience.

    • @PiotrBuczek
      @PiotrBuczek 5 місяців тому

      From what I saw on the Vividstorm site the bundles come with the basic S Pro screens which are not acoustically transparent. You need an S Pro P model for that.
      I'm thinking of that now as well. Whether it's worth the extra money, cause bundles (both cabinet + screen and screen + projector) have additional discounts. I might just put my soundbar in front of the screen - regardless if I go with a cabinet or not.

    • @gagikkyurkchyan
      @gagikkyurkchyan 5 місяців тому

      Thanks for the replies. I am actually planning on buying in wall center channel. So, there won’t be a problem of space. I will probably need to talk to vividstorm support before the purchase anyways.

    Where would you connect and house gaming consoles?

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  10 місяців тому +1

      This is where I struggled - you'd have to connect your console via the HDMI cable to the back of the projector, but you'd need a 3rd party long 3m HDMI cable so that you can feed it from the back of the cabinet and out of the side, so that your console can sit on the side of the cabinet all the time. If that makes sense? Otherwise cabinets like this aren't great for keeping multiple HDMI devices connected to the projector all the time.

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  Місяць тому

      Yeah this is quite awkward for placing soundbars and speakers. If you had 2x speaker system, you could put them on the side parts, but a center-focused soundbar type system is difficult to position with this

      The ALR Screen does, but the Cabinet doesn't. I had to purchase a UK version of that same DC Adapter cable - I wouldn't recommend using an adapter for the US plug.

    • @noahone3923

      Yeah totally agree, I mean who is spending $5k + and in some cases $10k + on a media console for UST projectors but with a soundbar if not using the projector's internal speaker? These need to be made for some kind of 20-30" wide center channel speaker under the projector. I guess one could take two separate speakers, sit them on top, and link them together somehow to the AVR that... sits somewhere.... clearly not in or on this cabinet. I guess maybe an acoustically transparent version of the screen and a low profile wall mounted center would work?

    • @TrendingReviews
      @TrendingReviews  10 місяців тому

      I hear what you're saying! I had 2 small bluetooth speakers on the ends of the cabinet where they didn't block the view of the screen, but my Philips Screeneo U5 projector has a really loud room-filling in-built dolby audio system, which is more than an enough and doesn't warrant me any need to get a soundbar or other external speakers. It also depends on how much space you have in your room on the sides of the cabinet to place floor-standing speakers too.

    This reminds me of 1980's cellphones. Big, ugly, early execution of technology.
    The bulk, size, and frivolous complexity of this projector setup is a total deal breaker.
    In 10 years time, something like this may adopt a much smaller form factor.
    My advice to you guys is, skip this device.
    Get yourself a standard short throw 4k projector and a really nice ALR wall mounted screen.
    It will not only look better than this, but perform better.
    Too early for this.
