The Q60 is probably one of the best looking car on the road at any price. Every time I see one I always turn my head or stop to look at it. The interior needs some work though. I don’t really mind the dual screens. It’s hilarious to me that everyone seems to hate the dual screen set up from the Older Acura Models and this Q60 but praise Audi and Mercedes for having screen overload. If Infiniti would upgrade the materials slightly it would be a great buy although I still think it is. I would by this in a heart beat over the 3 or 4 series BMW Coupé.
Yeah the interiors are tired designs, they are behind the times on features for the price, quality is poor, and the biggest fault for me in the power. Similar displacement turbo six engines push out way more power from the competition.
Typical Infiniti. They refuse to fully-bake a luxury vehicle. Which is a shame because every time I catch one of these on the street, it always turns my head. Very striking design. But the interior is closer to Nissan than what is expected of luxury cars, and some of the early Red Sports had some serious reliability issues.
@@hellkitty1014 no, I have worked for infiniti they listen to customers. They dont complain much. They added new 7 inch driver TFT screen, and new screen on the QX80. Also they been planning on adding EV cars to the model and using electric cars as a option, also improving pro pilot assist. Also INFINITI says we will be a Nissan plus, what that really means is its going to be a luxury brand like before, but offer cars that Nissan sells. so if you want a size car that Nissan sells but you think you want luxury brand then there will be a INFINITI version. One thing I do expect to see is not going to just be a badge job. Infiniti designer are looking to make it a big difference. your going to pay more so they will make it difference. Joseph Neubauer Sales and revenue are going down on Infiniti. It’s too late for them. People are only getting Infiniti only because it’s cheap. People are signing Q50 lease for less than $300 a month these days with absolutely nothing due at signing.
As an owner of a '17 Q60 Red Sport AWD, I've been modding my Q for the 3+ years. Aye one of the best looking cars at any price point let alone one that is relatively affordable for most. As far as sales go the Q50/60 sell about 30-40K units year and sell at pretty solid margins so it does a lot for the brand, granted no single car would ever sell an automaker. With that said I think Nissan is going the right direction with the brand if the recent updates are any indication.
BigHeadClan not to much the big impact it has on VQ enthusiasts and the amount of modifications you can do to the Q50/60 these models are highly loved and valued
The Q60 red sport has always been my dream car. I just keep talking myself out of it for practicality reasons. This car with the aftermarket Tesla Style infotainment screen is a game changer.
What do you mean by practicality, like the amount of people you can fit in there or the trunk space. Or just other issues. Cuz this is my dream car too and want this to be my next car but just curious what other issues do you have with this car ?
It’s a beautiful car. Its flaw is the 7 speed. Nissan needs to put their new 9 speed in all Infiniti models. Infiniti is the only Japanese luxury automaker that offer a twin turbocharged V6 in their entry level models. Lexus and Acura are still using their old and heavy 3.5 V6 engines.

One of the few cars whose style alone just might be able to sell me. Love the looks that much. I think I could live with the “muscle car” driving demeanor. The factory-installed sport exhaust is a must-have, though.
The exterior of the Q60 is one of the nicest looking of any 2 door sport coupes, but I agree with Alex about the interior. It’s now outdated and the dual screens needs to be merged into 1 screen. Not sure why Infiniti hasn’t updated their interior on this gorgeous car. And no ACP or AA on the Q60’s prior to 2020 ? Very surprised by that...
Alex- Infiniti's lease programs are among the most aggressive in the industry. The interior on the Q60 is starting to look dated, though. A 3 year lease may be worth it.
Q50 3.7 lease was at around $320 a month with just tax due at signing 5-6 years ago when car was relatively fresh, so it should be cheaper by now. Back then, I thought $320 was too expensive because of the sluggish downshift and super inefficient engines.
I have this exact car you tested Alex. I went from the 2018 Q50 RS 400 fully loaded with pro pilot assist. the 2020 Q60 RS 400 feels more lively than the q50. I can also say I do not miss DAS. Everyone bags on Infiniti wayyyy to much. They are amazing cars for the price. Loved my 3.0t and recently upgraded to the 2020 q50RS. I have ZERO regrets! (especially since they updated infotainment). Don’t listen to people’s opinions and just go test drive one yourself.
Agree with Alex on every point except the exhaust note. The previous Q60 Red Sport exhaust note was almost non existent, from outside or inside. The new exhaust note reminds me somewhat of the G37S IPL. With the windows down in a tunnel, and gunning it, the note is very sweet.
With the recent economic crash along with other factors, my desire to own something like this has just tanked, even though I can technically "afford" it. The market seems to agree with me.
It’s highly likely this particular model has the optional MOTORSPORTS: SPORT EXHAUST WITH EXTERNAL RESONATOR installed. This would be the reason the exhaust note seems high. These wheels are also optional as well as all the external carbon fiber pieces.
The Infiniti Q60 is honestly one of the sexiest coupes on the road. I could overlook the infotainment system for this car. Fully optioned though I seen one at a dealer for 67K (would probably top out at 70K with taxes and fees) at that price point idk. Most people will buy the base trim
Gorgeous exterior undone by a dated and cheap looking dash for the price point. That square double screen is right out of a 2012 Honda Civic dashboard.
They need to update the engine and transmissions as well. Their 7 speed and 3.0 variant engines are a joke. Slow downshift, unpredictable inefficient engines.
How much longer are the doors on a 2 door vs a 4 door sedan? I have been looking at all manufacturers and cannot find that data. Is the only way to physically measure the doors at a dealer?
I have 2015 by hybrid; tech package. I love the dual screens and always on Navi. The DAS is nowhere near s weird feeling as people try to portray it. The average driver would never notice anything other than the variability choices. My car is as quoting as the 400 but I get 34mpg when driving normally. I'm surprised they stopped importing.
If the redesign the interior two or three years later and give it some mild refresh, that would directly crash all the competitors in this segment. However, so sad they are going to pull out from the EU and Australia this year.
Since I've owned a variety of coupes (currently on my 6th), I would agree. But maybe because it's base price is $40k up to $60k, the +2 rear seats are awful, trunk space is lousy, and insurance is high if you're under 45. Besides, America has been buying high performance rwd (V8) coupes since 1932. Ask Ford.
Awesome review, awesome car...sales of Cars are down because people are fooled to think SUV and trucks are safer, at this rate in 10 years everyone will drive dump trucks and SUV versions LoL also manufacturers are pushing tech in SUV and trucks more than Cars to be more fuel efficiency and Tech.
I have this car and I love it a lot. I have the sunstone red with the red interior. I’ve had it for 3 years now and I’m thinking about getting a Ford Mach E for practicality and the electric but I’m so torn cause I’m going to miss the Q60 a lot.
Infiniti really makes good cars. The CEO (who is now gone) did them wrong by changing all the model names to the confusing "Q" nomenclature. If the name confuses enthusiasts, you damn sure know it confuses your average car shopper. Exterior styling is strong with Infiniti. Interior styling is good, but Infiniti really struggled to update the electronics and infotainment display. Competitors went to big, landscape displays while Infiniti stuck with an outdated and laggy 2 screen system. Finally, rather than investing in their own branded performance models (remember IPL?), they opted for the "cheaper" approach of slapping some "red" badges and brake calipers into the cars and changing the tune of the twin turbo V6. Speaking of, the twin turbo engine is a real gem.
Soon this platform will morph into the Nissan 400Z and will hopefully have a full redesign of the interior. In its all wheel drive variant it could very well be thought of as a baby GT-R, but in reality they want it to slide around the turns to compete with and beat the new Supra and undercut it also with significantly less pricing, which means it will stay to the true RWD setup for that kind of driving. This is the impression I have by just casually reading all kinds of articles concerning this new 400Z since the year began. I personally have a 18' GT-R Premium.
I hear Infiniti may stop making its own vehicles and soon sell just badge engineered Nissans. That would be a shame. I always had a soft spot in my heart for Infiniti.
Oh I'm surprised to see you reviewing the Q60 again Alex, you've done it and the Q50 a few times. But I suppose this MY has AA and ACP so its worth a review. Car is due for a heavy refresh in the next year so hopefully we see it get that new 9-speed as well as a few other changes.
Main reason why I do not even bother looking at Infiniti is because the interior is WAY OUTDATED!!! Hasn’t been updated for some time now and that’s very disappointing because these are quality automobiles.
Infiniti will go out of business at the pace they are going. Never redesigning anything properly and never offering amazing features and yet still keeping a hefty the price.
Infiniti set record sales in 2018, there are some older cars in the lineup but no one is paying close to MSRP for those older cars which is why Infiniti continues to sell so many.
I love both Q50 and Q60, BUT my parents want me to get a 4 door sedan to accommodate them better... Yet I don't want to be selfish but I kinda have to... This will be MY car and I will be making the payments and dealing with it every day... So sorry mom and dad, Q60 will be part of the family soon.
The AWD system is RWD until slip is detected then it sends power to the front, only exception to this if the car is put in Snow mode or is travel at very low speeds. Otherwise RWD 99% of the time.
I agree, because it's more subtle, but in this market segment subtle isn't what people want. The Q60 is also good looking, though I dislike the gaping grille.
Hmmm I'd take a m240i over any of those picks, new TLX looks really interesting though... Hoping Infiniti throws the Q60 a bone with the redesign in 2021 though.
Infiniti is done. Don’t buy them. I worked at an Infiniti dealership as a parts guy. Almost all the body parts get backordered ever since last year. Two months for driver window. Nissan is giving up on it. The collapse of the parts supply system usually signals the end.
james 699 I said since last year, 2019. COVID didn’t start until earlier this year. Due to COVID, the dealership has been closed for three months. I’m glad that I left that job in November. On a good month they would sell 10 new cars a month. Infiniti is still going to be around. But they are not going to have their own models anymore. They are going to be “Nissan plus”. Much like the Avenir from Buick. There’s no more specialty.
DEAD BRAND ROLLING. The Infiniti brand is now NISSAN PLUS, Like Chevrolet versus Buick. Infiniti dealer network is going away... it'll be Nissan. A shame, the Q45 and G35 were good cars. I even liked the J30 back in the 90s.
Der Schwindel the vr30ddtt the v6 in this video, while not as much as the vq37 in the 2014 and 15 q50s, is actually a very reliable motor. The 16s had belt issues but the 17s and newer especially in the understressed base 3.0t versions will easily get to high mileage without issues. The 7 speed auto has no notable flaws either, just let it warm up before gunning it. I would actually trust a q50 as much as I do my Lexus GS. The Nissan counterparts with the Cvt however, I agree, I would not trust. The 5.6 v8 they use used to have big problems with the cats blowing out but they fixed that and now they are pretty good, on the level of the 5.3 GM and 5.7 FCA, and only slightly lower rated as the Ford 5.0, obviously not compared to the 5.7 Toyota motor, but hey, what is. Overall the q50 and q60 are good cars. At least I think so
BigHeadClan Their reliability ratings have been very low. A newer BMW has a higher predicted reliability score.. check the stats. A lot has changed unfortunately
The perception is that hatchbacks and wagons aren't luxury goods. On the case of wagons they sell in tiny numbers. The German brands import a few, but they don't spend much on marketing.

The real backup light is on the moveable trunk lid? I didn't think that was legal.
If infinity made the sunroof slide over the top of the roof instead of into the roof the interior rear headroom would be improved.
This brand is still a thing and alive?
What did you end up getting instead of the red sport ?
The exterior is nice ,but the center stack is outdated.
Agree completely. Grown-up pony car
Before Nissan/Infiniti die in a few years, I wish they'd at least release the Essence Concept, with the GTR's chassis underneath. Go out with a bang!
That was a fantastic looking concept, would be awesome to see something like that on the streets. Nissan isn't going anywhere though.
They've been around for like 90 years. They not going to disappear anytime soon just because they disappoint you. Jackass.
The moving camera is distracting.
Change and please update the CHEEZY outdated early 80's jingle intro!
Infinity autos are still sold in the USA? I haven't seen a new one on the road in years.
Infinity has never sold cars in the U.S. Infiniti, is a different story altogether.
There is no car company named Infinity.
infiniti*
Needs more radiator/coolant caps. Three just isn't enough.
Nice DATSUN bro
Is this a C43 in Samurai ensemble ?
Nice Infinity👌
Alex can you please go back to your static camera work. This new moving camera makes me feel seasick. There's no need to keep moving all the time.
I thought the awd model had 400 hp and 400 torque? I may be wrong though.
The red sport has 400hp/350tq, the base versions have 300hp/tq. No change in power/torque for AWD systems.
Q60 redsport is my choice
Get the base Q60 and add a down pipe and a tune. Done.
450+whp monster on93
Base model is not worth getting
I love both Q50 and Q60, BUT my parents want me to get a 4 door sedan to accommodate them better... Yet I don't want to be selfish but I kinda have to... This will be MY car and I will be making the payments and dealing with it every day... So sorry mom and dad, Q60 will be part of the family soon.
It’s crazy to think that Infiniti only has 5 models. They’ve completely lost their way. Even the dumb renaming they did to their cars was lame.
Wasn't the Q60 the successor to the JX35 SUV?
J J no, that’s the qx60
@@afca_management1461 ah, thanks.
Why not TLX?
Hi Alex,
Is the AWD system on this rear or front bias?
the awd is coming from their Gx series and since it's rwd based. therefor I'm 95% certain that it's rwd biased.
The AWD system is RWD until slip is detected then it sends power to the front, only exception to this if the car is put in Snow mode or is travel at very low speeds.
Otherwise RWD 99% of the time.
BigHeadClan thanks
YC Y thanks
The S5!!
The G37 was so much sexier
Hard nope in my books, I love my G37 coupe but the Q60 is waaaay better looking.
Q60 looks much better, but G37 drives better. Can't stand Q50/Q60's slow sluggish downshifts.
@@b1uezea1ot It's nearly identical transmissions in both... The G37 is definitely the more nimble and playful of the two cars though.
I agree, because it's more subtle, but in this market segment subtle isn't what people want. The Q60 is also good looking, though I dislike the gaping grille.
This over any german, but the new TLX over this
Hmmm I'd take a m240i over any of those picks, new TLX looks really interesting though... Hoping Infiniti throws the Q60 a bone with the redesign in 2021 though.
@@BigHeadClan Like i always say, buy japanese but lease germans
I’ve had the same feeling for a while now. Infiniti is bleeding money like crazy for Nissan, outdated and tired.
I have Q50 luxe 3.0t, but what if I'd like to purchase one the Q50 S HP400 Or this ,someone gonna approve it to me?
Audi S5 or M440.
I hate to say this, but kia stinger is a better option with similar power.
Beautiful car. Inferior infotainment. Totally ruins the vibe.
The stacked screens need to go!
DEAD BRAND ROLLING. The Infiniti brand is now NISSAN PLUS, Like Chevrolet versus Buick. Infiniti dealer network is going away... it'll be Nissan. A shame, the Q45 and G35 were good cars. I even liked the J30 back in the 90s.
not for japanese.
Alex, I really miss the camera view of the side and the tires spinning during the drive section. I hope you can bring it back.
As much as I really like the look and feel of driving most of the Infiniti models, their overall poor reliability ratings are a deal-breaker for me.
They are ahead of nearly all of the other luxury brands aside from Porsche, Lexus and Genesis. What reliability ratings are you looking at?
At least I think so
RELIABILITY????....you are looking at the wrong car.
My 2015 Q50 is rock solid, no issues at all. I just change the oil twice a year myself, that's it.
BigHeadClan Their reliability ratings have been very low. A newer BMW has a higher predicted reliability score.. check the stats. A lot has changed unfortunately
Why do these companies stick to low volume sellers like these, yet refuse to bring hatchbacks and wagons to North America
The perception is that hatchbacks and wagons aren't luxury goods. On the case of wagons they sell in tiny numbers. The German brands import a few, but they don't spend much on marketing.
