Roberto Mancini’s Italy side have a new look, unlike the Conte side of 2016, they are attacking.
Are Italy any good? Are they Dark Horses for the tournament? Or are they regular horses? These are the questions JJ Bull answers.

#Euro2020
Buffon won the first Italian Cup with Enrico Chiesa in Parma and then he won his last Italian Cup with Federico Chiesa last year in Juventus! Unbelievable!!
Federico should call him "Uncle Gigi"
lol true
Very cool fact. Testament to the skill level of all three players that excel enough to play with one another.

came for the football analysis stayed for the weird tangents that jj goes on
Combined age of 900... I just can't 😂
playing since the 1700s lol
I've come here after Italy smashed the group stage and showed wales how to play ball with their 2nd team 😂😂😂
On to the final 4 vs Spain!

@@tomaslemostrancanelli9798 Champions now! 🇮🇹🏆🇮🇹🏆
Knocked out by North macedonia 🇲🇰 now !
I don't rate Donnaruma at all if he can't play the solo from free bird
What if he can play sweet child o mine
LoL 😅
Cut him some slack, he's been focusing on his Money solo for a long time.
He is a top keeper but i'm not sure he'd get in a top 10. He is some way below/behind Oblak, Courtois, Ter Stegen, Neuer, Alisson & Ederson.
@@CarlinConnolly dude he is just 22-23, he is playing from 16. He got all the years
I'm here after Italy has squashed group A. Dark horses? Regular Horses? The result? They become the Belgian draft horse(Sir google taught me) of the first round. You're mentioning gareth bale outrunning the mummies bonucci, chelini? Chelini was rested and bonucci played for a half! Bale got KOedby bastoni single handedly. The resurgence of Italy is such a delight to watch
Holy words!

"Are Italy good? Yes."
*Video ending plays*
Hahaha! Awesome edit!
Think the video rather undersells Chiesa a bit. He's more than a hard worker. He's got electric pace and power and runs at defenders unrelentingly. Can score and provide as well. Any Juve fan will tell you he was among their best performers last season.
You can object that Juventus this year was at its lowest (although they won 2 trophies), but Chiesa's performance would have been outstanding even on a good Juventus'year.
Chiesa just destroyed Spain defense 2 days ago by himself
When you have Zaniolo, Chiesa, Barella, Tonali, Locatelli, Pellegrini among others delivering pinpoint through balls, it is hard not to be attacking.
Man said Pellegrini 😭😭😭
Unfortunately Zaniolo is injured.
And Sensi too 😥
With Insigne and Immobile
Tonali AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH he is utter sh*t
and people like jackass cassano say there is no italian talent in italy
Bonucci and Chiellini showed how you dont need a high pace to be a top CB. A fantastic Tactical vision is more and enough for a duo who plays togheter sice 12 years.
Having watched Italy for 4 games now, it shows you how in depth and knowledgeable this channel is. They've set up exactly like this with almost the same personnel barring Di Lorenzo for Florenzi, which was only due to injury. The incisive passing and desire to win the ball back is so entertaining to watch. If they can beat Belgium on Friday, I'm backing them for the tournament.
we won m8, ty for the support
@@PadreMaronnolo champions of Europe!
Waiting for the blooper of JJ trying to play the solo on Free Bird. I'm pretty sure that actually happened so the ball is in your court Tifo IRL.
They were excellent. Lovely intricate passes and they didn't put a foot wrong. Special mentions to Spinnazola, Chiellini and Jorginho they were superb
And Berardi and Locatelli...
CI STANNO TRACCIANDO!
STACA STACAAAA
Italy have no star players but they are a cohesive unit of very good players set up excellently by Mancini
IMO that is a good thing
REALLY?? DUDE..STOP TALKING IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT.
DONNARUMMA: Star player of AC Milan
CHIESA: Star player of Juventus
ZANIOLO: Star player of Roma(Deemed to be future Ballon D'Or winner by Capello)
BARELLA: Star player of Inter Milan
LOCATELLI: Star player of Sassuollo.
@@jatin2616 the definition of star players is pretty much Mbappe, Ronaldo, Lewy, Kane, which skews the definition. Italy for me are an incredible team, that's a big point imo, even if they don't have the biggest of players, they've got a solid bunch across
@@mayurgianchandani1184 Tbf Zainolo could be a star player (he is still quite young and has a lot to prove) but he is injured. He reminds me a bit of Loftus cheek in the sense that he looks like he can really become a star player, but in his early senior career has been hit by major injuries
@@mayurgianchandani1184 You are revering the players, not the game. Chiesa is head and shoulders above Cristiano. Other than Kane and Cristiano, the names you mentioned play in leagues with basically 2 good teams.
If Zaniolo was there it would have been more amazing
Do you think he will be ready for the new season on Mourinho's Roma?
@@1992zorro Seems so, per his Instagram he's been bulking this half of the year and is already doing ball work. Probably delayed his return since his ACL might have been from rushing back
@@1992zorro For sure he will.
zaniolo doesn t seem to have the right mentality to become a great player
@@1992zorro he’s ready yet now
Sad that Spinazzola wont be able to play for the rest of the tournament. Seemed to be the spine of the new italy. I wonder if Emerson can play the same way, long run ups on the side and be very active defender.
Had a flashback to Saturday mornings watching Football Italia as a kid in the mid 90s when you mentioned Buffon and Enrico Chiesa at Parma.
Italy are regular horses🎉. Oh JJ you never disappoint.
Lovely lovely regular horses.
@@grievuspwn4g3 Are you sure about that? Never put down a 4 time WC. 2016 WC should have teached something to you.
@ismxil patni dark horses means noone expects the to win and they're better than people give them credit for. Everyone thinks Italy are good so they can't be dark horses
That aged well
Guess Who is in semi finals? :))
JJ's humour is so entertaining to watch. Let's see if they're dark horses or just regular horses😂
Totally looking forward to a Chiesa Insigne and Immobile front three
I don't think immobile performs that well for Italy ..belloti could be the key
@@zerodsouz3100 Immobile is on good form for Italy and played well in his limited appearances at the last WC and Nations league. I think he should start. But I agree Belotti has performed more consistently over his Italy career.
Berardi has been amazing this season, I think he should get a shout, but Chiesa has been so key for Juve too. Tough to decide between them.
@@coleyboy1921 belotti is also an all around more complete player than immobile. His build up play is actually quite good. Considering how poor Torino were for large swaths of the season he had to play almost a Kane-esque role to help keep them in the fight.
Bernardeschi Is really good at NT
Who's here after Italy won vs Belgium?
JJ, you are going to be in trouble when Joe sees this video. He's made it very clear on your first podcast that HE is meant to be the funny one. My Lord, the comedy battle we are about to witness is going to be a scene.
Sassuolo is just a raw talent factory
And atalanta as well
But it's not true that they weren't attacking before. Because even if the 80s they had creative and classic attackers and midfielders. They had a very nice gameplay even if they were oriented a lot on defence, their attacking football was very good if you ask me. There were many wonderful midfielders and attackers through history Paolo Rossi, Roberto and Dino Baggio, Rivera, Albertini, Pirlo, Totti, Del Piero, Toni, Ancelotti, Vialli, Di Vaio, Zola, , coach Mancini, etc.....
JJ can play free bird. Deal with it, Donnarumma.
I just watched the game, the tactics JJ showed were spot on
yeah sometimes I wish people like JJ were the commentators. Someone from optus was having a go at Turkey i think for having such tight back lines. If they were JJ they would have known why that was happening
@@froggomcfroggin9392 nah they only hire minorities and women these days. All politics.
I am supporting since 90’s. Come on Azzurri. 🇮🇹 30 match unbeaten. Waiting to play with Austria .
Be great to see a Wales one soon. We've played a few different styles recently, but seem to have had most success with Kieffer Moore spearheading a 4-2-3-1
Moore could be a unexpected threat. He had an excellent season at Cardiff, big and strong but not slow either. Teams like Italy won't know much about him so I think he can take a few defences by surprise.
Thank you for these. I can't get enough of them.
Glad your channel is doing well ! Quality all round
Nicolo Barella will make his name this tournament. He is vastly underrated.
Very overrated actually. Gave away possession 24 times in 2 games and got dribbled passed 3 times. He will be exposed when Italy play a good midfield like Belgium or France
Very overrated actually. Gave away possession 24 times in 2 games and got dribbled passed 3 times. He will be exposed when Italy play a good midfield like Belgium or France
@@grimaffiliations3671 Mate, Barella won the MVP this year in italy, what are you talking about? the guy was one of the key player for the Inter Scudetto. Guess u must be supporting England, with most of the players being super overrated over there
@@angelotoscano5080 Italian league is pretty bad. and im not talking about league form, he's been mediocre so far at the euros
@@grimaffiliations3671 wow you can't just make up stats you fool. You're a sad lonely human.
And Barella is a fantastic player, you will be hearing his name for years to come, so you may as well get used to it and just accept the fact. No more bs "statistics".
I think a lot of people are sleeping on Insigne. He just had hist best goal scoring season (19) with Napoli, placed 2nd in Serie A Whoscored ratings behind only Ronaldo, and has a better Sofascore rating than Ronaldo. Insigne has scored or assisted in 9 of his last 11 appearances of Italy (4 goals, 7 assists), opposition being Netherlands, Bosnia, Greece, Czech Rep., Bulgaria, and N. Ireland. He is key to Italy's offence. Put on a show vs Czechs in the last friendly.
All his games in his home stadium btw 👍🏼
Nice work man...you got everything right...
Brilliant video man
Cant wait to see Spinazzola start as a goalkeeper in Italy's first match to prove that JJ is right that "I Bet He Can Play Goalkeeper"
I also like to point out Barella can be a One Man Midfield Engine, dropping deep to get the ball, dribble it upfield, spray passes to the forwards, press the opposition, tackle and recover the ball by himself, shoot a dipping shot from outside the box from a half clearance after a corner. Barella is a monster packed neatly into a convenience 5"8" packaging
"Are Italy Good? yeah" had me dead 🤣
You are almost 100% spot on with your starting 11, tactics and player facts
Group A come to an end, ex post you have done a good analysis on both starting line-up and player performance. Well done!
Get JJ to do every video! He's fantastic to watch
JJ is an eclectic speaker, love it, great analysis too
The whole of Italy and the entire league has reborn as an attacking country. Don't know if I like this or not.
Exactly! Both Lazio and Atalanta were scoring CRAZY amounts of goals last season
That’s the legacy of Zdenek Zeman
@@tymonwojcik6523 Who?

I really miss zaniolo
Well done you for seeing this before most 👏
Very enjoyable.
Superb analysis. JJ, I think you have a great deal more expertise than the tone of your delivery sometimes seems to suggest, almost as if you can't quite bear to sound as authoritative as the quality of the ideas requires; that, and the sharp brand of "blink and you miss it" throwaway gambits of surreal humour are the signature. Thanks!
You got that spot on. Well done
small correction, buffon has retired from the national and in 2023 he would retire from football entirely :)
Accurate analysis
Ci sono talmente tante inesattezze in quel che dici che spero che ti vedano tutti i nostri avversari...
Sinceramente ho fatto un po' di fatica a capire il tutto al 100%
Di Lorenzo off the back of a great season at Napoli, has to start for me, especially with Florenzi's recent injury scares.
"bonucci and chellini beacuse they play since 1700's" that's just cruel man😂😂😂
Yes. And they show how to stop lukaku
Wow great rundown of the players for someone who’s missed the last seasons
The yea or neigh on the title slide killed me lol
he made two horse jokes on the TROT
'Lovely, lovely horses' is just one of many lines that cracked me up, JJ is a natural to this.
This Guy is a legend, so enthusiastic
top video today. looking really comfortable on camera
Hi guys!! I'm NEW to the channel/show...and highly impressed. I've been avoiding the jingoistic, biased, one eyed English media narratives and watching games with commentary turned down...or simply awaiting results when England finish games.
JJ got it spot on
For someone doing this alone, JJ is great
Think the word for lovely horses you're looking for is Stallions
jj you are class mate
So Italy is playing Vertical Tiki-Taka?
I wasn't expecting knowledge about Free Bird...this is why Tifo IRL is exceptional
You re so weird in the best possible way, JJ. Gg and i really really enjoy you re funny and lively analysis!! You guys rock!
Tifo: Florenzi is not that good at defending
Di Lorenzo: hold my right back position
Italy need a great number 9. If Italy had Lewandowski they would certainly win the Euro and more. That type of attacker is missing on a regular basis. Belotti is good but not great!
Look out for moise kean next year, hes the new balotelli, for bad and for good🤣
Immobile won the golden shoe over Lewandowsky and scored 10 more goals than Lukaku in last two years of Serie A and two years ago established the all time record of goal scored in Serie A with 36 goals. I'm not saying that is better than Lewandowsky but to criticize him is ridicolous
looks like we didn't need one! 😀
@@massimogermano8466 die hard Torino and Azzurri fanatic here. Immobile can only play in Serie A, he flopped at BVB, he does score a lot of goals for Lazio but almost one third of those goals are penalties.
Immobile had never been prolific for the national team. Belotti on the other hand was good at Torino, still hasn’t found his footing at Roma but also Belotti has never scored a lot for the national team.
Loads of young talent available now and it will be exciting if Italy develop a prolific 9 going forward.
@@SimoNemo7 Clearly you don't understand football.
France and Germany may have physical strength, but they got eliminated lol. If Italy will defeat Belgium, I think there's a good chance that they win. As an Italian, it would be good for me

If Italy becomes an offensive team, then watch out, together with their defensive play,
then they will dominate in the future, add the replay reviews where Italy will definitely benefit.
Where in the past decisions were made strictly by arbiters.
I miss mancini man city diirect football. Pep football less aggresive but tbh they really in good shape. So it doesnt be a matter. Unless a UCL final loss struck twice.
So spinazzola is reincarnation of fachetti?
I really hate that Fiorentina give all their good players to Juventus. Cuadrado, Bernadesci, probably Chiesa, and at this point, I’m just waiting for Vlahovic to sign for them.
Bernardeschi was a scam tho. They lucky they got 30 million. He is not worth half the money now! But is good in international football
They are still laughing in Florence for the Bernardeschi affair
Can we get some of the old school videos I see this man as a bad luck charm after the Scotland game 😂
Italy didn't suddenly "become" attacking. They attacked a lot in 1978, 1982, 2006 and 2012 for example. 2000 also until Zoff decided to park the bus against the Dutch and the French.
Indeed other Italy teams could be a much more defensive (or if we take the example of Sacchi at Euro 1996 and Trapattoni 8 yrs later, simply had no idea what they were doing). That's still a lot better than most countries.
JJ BULL THE BULL MAN
Well done you got this spot on as proven by the Turkey game. Plus you have made an artform out of your awkward presenting style.
