Incredible views! I'm having to live through you for a bit. Pops took a spill and broke his hip, and dementia really complicated things, but me and the dog will be back on the road in due time. Wayne national forest and Southern Ontario are on the agenda!
OMG! Minnie Pearl! I laughed so hard. Izzie trying to jump off the rock shelf near the end- I half expected you to tell her "A little more passenger... now driver"
Cara, I don't know what you are doing but we noticed you are just absolutely glowing more than usual - just beautiful! Must have been that Incline hike, the mushroom pillow, or, you and Matt are in for a surprise in 8 or 9 months.. : ). Seriously, keep doing what you are doing and then share your beauty secrets. Love seeing especially the UT trips and the time spent with your little pooches.
21:12 when you create an offline map section you can zoom in and out to choose the amount of mileage/land area is saved. in medium res you can have up to 83x64ish mile sections, high res 18x23ish miles, low res 394x294ish miles. in low res, zoomed all the way out, you only need two offline map section to cover all of ca(2.6gb size) and just one to cover all of utah(2.4gb)
At around 33:20 to 33:40 in the video it looked like you were nearing the area where the Air Force jet crashed 70 years ago, the tail is right off of the road. Then about 34:50 it looked like you might be in the area where the Utah Monolith was. Lockhart Basin is a long trail, far away from anything, with very difficult access at the north end so that keeps a lot of people out. There are lots of shorter trails around Moab for a quick dose of scenery and/or obstacles depending on what you want.
Lockhart is one of our favorite trails! Can’t believe after three days of walking around Expo we didn’t run into you guys. Will probably see you at Mountain West. Safe travels!!
We started hitting trails with our JLs about 2 yrs ago. We’ve tried Trails Offroad, Gaia and OnX. Of the three I’ve used, I found OnX the most user friendly with the best & most up to date satellite imagery. I appreciate the way OnX shows the highlighted trails along with the information about it. In my opinion, Gaia really needs to improve their trail symbology (don’t care for the hashed line) and making the available trails more easily seen on their map system. I agree with you about the size of the offline map area on OnX. I’m hoping they find a way to increase the size of those offline maps as they are somewhat limited.
Hi Matt and Cara really enjoyed this video. I love the scenery and cinematography is amazing. I think this is an awesome video. Thank you so much for sharing.
Another great couple of trail videos. Everyone goes to Chicken Corners, and everyone misses such a great trail to Lockhart Basin. Thanks for sharing. But where was the visit to the plane crash site?? I was hoping you would show it and give us your thoughts about it. Looking forward to your next trails.
Wow, like you said, EPIC!! I am wanting/hoping to go on a similar adventure this fall/winter. Starting at Moab then make way towards Bryce, then the North Rim. Like I always say as far as deserts go, you either love it or hate it. Could an off road camper make it through the Lockhart Basin trail? Great videos. Living the Dream baby!!!
I meant to make it over at Overland West Expo to say hello and ask the following question. What dog car seat/booster are you using? I have a seven month old frenchie name, Scout that got a little overwhelmed with his first experience at the expo so we ended the day earlier than I wished.
Regarding how a trail or road got made in the first place…often I think and wonder the same thing when I explore some of the remote area in Utah. It’s humbling to think of people doing on foot or horseback and generally without tech.
Hearing the Missus talk about the difference between Gaia and OnX was very helpful. Wow! Thank! You! Now I know what to use moving forward. Any opinion on Trails Off-road?
First of all, love the video, and I'm insanely jealous. Secondly, in one of your older videos you were showing your entire build, inside and out, and there was a pistol mounted under the steering wheel. I don't blame you for not going in to the details since it could get you demonetized, but what mount were you using?
I’m glad I didn’t decide to go the rooftop tent route. It would be difficult for me to get my 65 pound Pittie up and down. Teardrop camper works much better.
Hey Matt question for you would you or do you have plans to make a shirt that be kind in the text but with a bronco and jeep on it and maybe even one with bronco jeep and toyota?
Seems to me that OnX users just like it because there’s trails already highlighted and easy to find places to go wheeling (not as much where I live though). That’s the only time I’ve used it is trying to locate a specific road or trail just to see what a location looks like on there 😂. I don’t pay for it though so I can’t really do much on it besides that. I do pay for Gaia and use it a ton! I think people just except to download Gaia or any apps these days and see where all trails are located already without actually trying to take some time to figure it out and research it, which isn’t the case. Some trails have taken me a while to figure out where to go and how to get there and all. I think that’s the only thing about OnX is some trails are already marked
Minnie Pearl lol 😂 haven’t heard that name for years. Awesome video love it Minnie.
Another great video. Matt the old saying happy wife happy life you lost that pillow 😂.
Just beautiful guys, a lot of wow moments.
Those pups are so cut! Great videos. Keep up the great work.
Thank you! Will do!
Epic views. This is the type of stuff I want to use our Ram for when finished.
yeah Gaia is so great...
huh? The ... at the end is an odd choice.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures hah I can see that. I was being sincere actually. Really love Gaia.I have a tablet in my Landcruiser just for Gaia. love it

Lovin' it!

Great video sir! How can you not love that area?

Sure but it’s low res. I can get the entire western US with Gaia in glorious high resolution with the Overland layer.
Epic video great work.
That takes talent going down the ladder with two pups in your hands
Incredible views! Great drone footage
My wife fell in love with Hest pillows at Overland Expo Mountain West. I'm sure you stocked up at Expo West this year.
Love the pups! Y’all are pretty cool too
Here for the puppy parkour 😂

Wow what an epic area. Def on my bucket list now.
Thankyou!!!!!!
You should!
Great Video 🙂
Thanks! 🙂
Great video!! Thanks Guys!!
Thanks for watching!
Matt look like you better get you a new pillow 😂. Stunt flying😂 Absolutely epic trails and views. Minnie Pearl lmao

Turns out we missed it. I thought we found it in tomorrow’s video but that’s something else.

when are you leaving the Ozarks and move out west as a permanent resident. we would love to have you in AZ.
We plan on living life on the road, not finding permanent residence in any state.
Freaking awesome

More drone shots please! :)

I appreciate the OnX vs Gaia discussion, I have been using Gaia for years but have been tempted to try OnX just to see what it offers.
I use OnX offline maps all the time. I've had no issues.
Hearing the Missus talk about the difference between Gaia and OnX was very helpful. Wow! Thank! You!
Now I know what to use moving forward.
Any opinion on Trails Off-road?
Trails offroad is great for finding trails but I don't really consider it an offline navigation app.
👍🏾 stunt pilot ✈️
Goose got a new chew toy😆
😂😂 I think she chews on him more.
Gods Country, just gorgeous.
First of all, love the video, and I'm insanely jealous.

we will see you at PNW
heck yeah!!
I'm in Utah you should come up to northern Utah especially uintah mountain range
Would love to!!!
I always ask myself how you can drive and fly the drone at the same time and get those beautiful drone shots?
I’m glad I didn’t decide to go the rooftop tent route. It would be difficult for me to get my 65 pound Pittie up and down. Teardrop camper works much better.
Hey Matt question for you would you or do you have plans to make a shirt that be kind in the text but with a bronco and jeep on it and maybe even one with bronco jeep and toyota?
Gorgeous trail! Is it possible to do this with a Patriot Camper? Thank you Matt
That would be very difficult but could be done. Be sure and see last weeks video with the harder obstacles to judge for yourself.
Minnie Pearl!
😂
Super video - HEST means horse in Danish language - where would you put your head when sleeping....😂😴
Is there anywhere you can go with just two wheel drive in this area?
Tons of places as long as it doesn’t rain.
What drone do you guys use,the quality of the video is superb, wanna upgrade my mavic pro 2
Mavic 3 Pro. Thanks

lol! Your pillow is gone Matt, accept it and move on man.
Actually she didn't take it. BAHAHAHAHAHA
When is the best time to go to Moab when it’s not too sweaty outside but still warm?
Cara’s drone piloting is going to raise our DGI insurance !! 😂 🤣
All the seasons except summer haha.
Avoid the summer in Moab. LOL.
I thought you knew how all the trails were made there. There's a museum there that tells you
So I take it not a big fan of the Top Oak
The top oak was awesome and if I didn't already have the Intrepid coming when I got the Top Oak I would still be using the Top Oak.
@OzarkOverlandAdventures 10-4 although the intrepid does look bigger don't know if it is but it looks bigger
@@rickhenry5468 more headroom in the Intrepid but the bed size is the same. But the Top Oak has more head room than most other wedges.
